Redken Extreme Shampoo 500ml

Excellent for damaged hair! I used this in conjunction with the conditioner and Extreme Anti Snap Leave In Treatment. The combination made a huge difference to my hair: split ends, texture, snapping and frizz, all reduced. Tried using them separately and got decent results but more so when using together. If my hair is heat damaged again I will re-purchase. Lathers well and smells lovely. Just be careful not to use too frequently as this helps to get protein back in the hair but there is only so much protein treatment the hair can tolerate, a saturation point, after which hair can become brittle/dry and snap. I was really excited for the extreme lengths system because I have pretty fine, thin, breakage prone hair. I also feel like more recently my hair has been thinning. The Redken Extreme Length Shampoo is meant to be paired with the other products in the system- which I have been doing. It leaves my hair feeling clean. I liked the way all of the products made my hair feel in combination with each other. There were a few things that I think I should note about the shampoo. 1. The bottle does not state how much you should use. Obviously you can figure that out on your own. But I started with too little and didn’t get a good enough lather so had to use more. 2. Also on the bottle, the directions state to follow shampoo use with the Extreme Length Conditioner and Sealer Split End Treatment. I did not receive the Sealer Split End Treatment, I received the Triple Action Treatment intended for use between shampooing and conditioning. So long story short there, I just felt the instructions could have been a little more clear and could have maybe included the other products in the line if it is intended to be customizable based off hair needs. Overall, I’m very happy with this shampoo and when I run out, I will absolutely buy more!

Decent but not splurge worthy

For the price its a bit much. The bottle is small and the price is high for a shampoo that honestly leaves my hair kind of dry and dull. But I always had dry hair to begin with so I wasn't expecting a miracle anyways. That being said, I'm still recommending this product because I did notice my hair grow at a faster rate. Not sure if my other products in my hair care routine contributed to it, but I would assume seeing results after switching my shampoo helped. I've been through 2 bottles but I'm officially going to stop now. For the price I don't find it so worth it, but my ultimate decision to stop was solely because of the smell. I cannot stand it, its not bad but its perfumey. I wanna smell fresh not like a perfume department. It smells heavy like grandma perfume ... MoreFor the price its a bit much. I first heard about how good this shampoo was and how it helps with hair growth. I was excited to use because I desperately wanted to grow my hair out. After using it about 7-8 times or so I can say that it's not worth purchasing and rather stick to organic remedies and vitamins. Lately, I've been psyching myself out after showering because I noticed a good amount of fall out that comes out when brush my hair (my hair is naturally curly) or even in the showering after shampooing and conditioning. I thought possibly it would be because of my history of hair processing and dyeing. But, I never had this issue before until I've used this specific shampoo. I started using this product a couple of months ago when I noticed my hair started falling out more than normal. Clumps would come out without even having to pull on it. After the shower my hairbrush would be full of hair. I started taking collagen and doing hair masks, not using heat on my hair, and doing oil treatments. I also started on vitamins, supplements, went to the doctor thinking something was wrong with me. So I'm a natural and I have a combination of 4A/4B hair. Back in the summer of 2022 I had my hair professionally straightened for the first time in a few years. While I LOVEDDD my hair and I mean LOVEDDD it, had I known the end result would be what I'm dealing with now, I would've never gotten it done. I was given a Keratin treatment that was supposed to last only 4 weeks, but it lasted much longer than the stylist anticipated. So I didn't back in 4 weeks, Instead I went back again in about 8 weeks. On the 8th week I got another Keratin treatment but only a partial since most of my hair was still straight although some started to curl back. My natural hair typically loves pantene but since having it straightened, my hair doesn't respond well to that anymore either. Nothing has been working. So I gave this a try the other day and literally for the first time since summer of 2022 I was able to easily wash and detangle my hair with my current situation (having 2 textures of coily hair combined with damaged straight hair). Not only was I able to truly detangle my hair from the first time (from root to tip) but I noticed A LOT LESS breakage when washing with this shampoo and the mask than I would normally have during my normal routine using my regular shampoo and conditioner. Mind you, the pantene I normally use has been what I've been using since about 2015.When I tried this shampoo I replaced the conditioner with the mask instead which may have helped with the results too, I'm not sure. But I will continue to use this product and see if I get even better results over time. If you have damaged hair and have been struggling definitely give this a try. I'm so glad I did. I feel like if I continue to use this line then I may not have to do a huge chop and cut off several inches of my hair. We shall see.I was skeptical at first because there were so many negative reviews compared to positive reviews even though the ratings were high so I was very nervous to spend $100 on 3 hair products but I am so glad I did.

Wish I had read the reviews

I started using this product close to a year ago and my hair definitely grew and it happened fast. Within about 4 months of using it my hair suddenly was breaking and I had terrible split ends. I couldn't figure out what could have caused it-sun damage,age, wind from 1 or 2 rides on a motorcycle etc...it was a mystery cuz I had done NOTHING out of the ordinary to cause it. I ran out of the shampoo about 6 months ago and haven't replaced it simply because I have so many other things I've been using to try to repair my hair & it's finally getting back to healthy. Today I was thinking about ordering this since I had to cut off alot of damaged hair & would like it to grow...then I read the reviews.
