The smell of baking bread is a delight to the senses and it is not only easy - it is also very quick. Simply place all the ingredients in the non-stick bread pan and the breadmaker will automatically mix, knead, prove and bake the loaf in a 2lb loaf in under 1 hour! Theres very little effort on the part of the baker because the breadmaker is a sophisticated appliance with a computer memory that does all the work for you. Its as simple as one-two-three 1. put in the ingredients, 2. select programme from the menus and press start 3. Wait for your bread. But dont stop at baking bread in this appliance. Besides being able to do all kinds of speciality breads, including wholewheat, you can also prepare doughs for bread rolls, pizza, cake and jam. Everything is easy and tastes homemade because it is.

I purchased this Breadmaker a month ago and waited to review it until I'd had some experience of using it.I have used it almost every day since I got it home with great success and a couple of errors in the earliest days.I made a HUGE mistake with my third attempt by misreading the recipe for a 2lb loaf.Thinking I knew what I was doing I read the flour weight incorrectly and merrily (stupidly) added the 907g of flour listed at the start of the ingredients. Of course I realised as soon as I turned on the machine what I had done ,so.....emptied all of it out, added an extra third to all the other ingredients, split the resulting dough in half, returned one half to the machine to continue mixing and finished the other half manually and in the oven. Needless to say this was less than perfect but it was still passable. I've learnt to slow down the process and weigh out all the dry ingredients into individual containers and double check myself by adding them into the machine as I recheck the quantities.I've had great success with Sainsburys own brand bread flour. Not as great success with Allinsons Canadian bread flour. And wonderful results with several flour types from an independant Flour Mill, especially their three malt and sunflower blend which I used in the machine to make the dough and then created 6 rolls in the oven. Delicious.I hope to keep experimenting.Yesterday I made a 1 and 1/2 lb quick bake loaf and today have just finished making a 1lb mixed fruit loaf which is beckoning me to add butter to a slice with my afternoon cuppa.I hope my bathroom scales are going to forgive me.

This has 3 stars because it does exactly what I expected. This is the 2nd Fastbake from Morphy Richards I have bought. I use it at least once a week, it makes very good bread, but after using one for over 5 years I do have a lot of experience in using it and I therefore know how to get excellent quality bread from it, which is why I bought the same one rather than another make. The problem with the previous one is that the belt stretches after about 4 years and consequently jumps when in use making a lot of noise. I expect this one to do the same. It can be replaced but the whole breadmaker needs to be dismantled, internet estimates its a 3 hour job. I would have thought it would be easy for Morphy Richards to have a removable panel to access the belt but I suppose ... MoreThis has 3 stars because it does exactly what I expected. Fast bake bread maker!!
12 October 2024

I was a little nervous about buying this as l had been looking to get a bread maker for a while. However, it was on a special offer and l am so glad l did. It’s great, I have made all sorts in it from a basic white loaf to cheese and onion and malt loaf. It’s tidy, easy to clean, easy to use and not too noisy. My tip is to read the instruction booklet and use the recipes (and the measures that come with the bread maker) in it as they are great. Morphy Richard’s products are great, l can now make wonderful bread that l can eat with the soup l make using their soup maker- another fantastic buy!!

Good, easy to use breadmaker

This is the second review I am writing about this breadmaker. The previous one was good, but I decided to post another update to help those who might not be getting favourable results with the rise of the bread. I have made over 30 loaves of white, wholemeal and wholemeal seeded bread since I have had the breadmaker and found that flour from different companies can, surprisingly give different results! Carrs, Allison, Sainsbury's and Asda flour gives consistent results with loaves well risen with a dome top, but flour from other companies are mixed. Sometimes more flour is needed or less water to get the right results from flour that is not as good as the ones mentioned? It took me about 3 loaves to get the ingredients right when using certain flour. I can use ... MoreThis is the second review I am writing about this breadmaker. It took me about 3 loaves to get the ingredients right when using certain flour. I can use almost any flour now, because I know what consistency to look for during the first kneading phase. Just don't give up and tweak the flour/water slightly, even during the first kneading phase if necessary - you will eventually work out what is needed to get the perfect loaf every time, especially when not using premium flour.

I love this machine. I had the exact same one years ago and eventually the spindle broke off after, gosh knows how many years of use. I use it mainly for the dough setting but do use other settings now and then.Be aware, you do not need to cook your bread in the machine, although it is very nice I don't care for the huge hole the paddle leaves personally. I put lots of baking and food online and the comments about my bread, is very good. Folk are amazed when I tell them I use this machine to do the dough, remove, put onto a floured surface to knock back-i.e. to get the air out the dough, then, into a greased loaf tin and put a clean plastic carrier bag or other, slightly oiled inside please, over and under the tin! Oven 210 degrees, remove bag carefully, now you know why you need to grease it, if it sticks to the bag when you remove it, your dough will almost collapse, be warned, grease it! oven around 20 30 mins turning tin around half way through if not a fan oven. To test, knock the bottom of the loaf, it should sound hollow, if not and dense, back in oven. I do pizza dough, naan, and also use to mix my Indian flat breads, chapattis etc,. Throw the stuff in and press a button. Love it!

My New Best Friend!

This machine is easy to use . It would be difficult to make it any easier. The instructions are clear and helpful. The recipes so far have worked well. I have used it to make buns, loaves and jam. It makes just one pot so not a lot of extra work. I think its a bit heavy on the required amount of sugar needed so have cautiously reduced the amount I put in to feed the yeast. I have started to be creative and made Haggis bread recently. The chart that outlines the total time and how it is broken down for each recipe is very useful in this respect. I keep the provided measuring cup and spoons in the pot itself for convenience. It even covers "gluten free" and cake! The mixing paddle has not so far been stuck in the loaf making a big hole. The outside plastic may not be very resilient near a heat source but I even bought my daughter one.

This is my second Fast Bake breadmaker

I first purchased this exact model about 9 years ago and am amazed and pleased that the new one is identical in looks, functionality and size. Why change it if it works. During the last 9 years I've made 100's of diferrent breads, fruit loafs, and pizza bases all perfect every time. It's so easy to use, you just follow the instructions and add the ingredients to the baking tin one by one, in the same order as the recipe. Lock the baking tin into position in the breadmaker, select the program number displayed in the recipe book, press start, wait for the program to complete and enjoy eating your freshly made bread. Unfortunately, our 9 year old machine has just failed which is why I've just replaced it with the exact same model again. Hopefully I'll get another 9 years of continuous use out of this one and many more perfect breads etc. For price and performance I'm happy to recommend this product to anyone wanting to bake their own fresh bread. The photo is the last fruit loaf just baked prior to product failure and I'm more than satisfied with 9 years of continuous use.

Very happy

Bought this bread maker on the strength of other reviews and they weren’t wrong! It’s a great piece of kit. Have made several loaves of bread now since purchasing and each has turned out really well. Nice crust and no soggy bottoms! Even made sandwiches with the resulting loaves. Have yet to make anything other than bread but I’m sure when I do, it’ll turn out great too. A wonderful addition to the kitchen and I’m very happy with this purchase. My only tiny gripe is that delivery could have been a little faster but it arrived (completely undamaged) within a week, so all is well.
