The Volkswagen Transporter (other names: VW T1, VW Bus or VW Samba) is a German van passenger car that was first presented to the public in 1949. Its production started a year later (1950) and is still going on. It took place or is still taking place in several cities around the world, e.g. in Emden or Hanover in Germany or in Poznań. The Transporter model was developed and implemented for production by the Volkswagen AG concern in order to expand its commercial offer and enter the vans segment. The car was based on a reinforced chassis and platform of the Beetle model. Also, many pieces of equipment were taken from this model. The first generations of the car were characterized by quite original styling, simple construction and low purchase and operating costs. Initially, engines with a capacity of 1.1 to 1.6 liters and a power of 25-47 HP were used as the drive. Especially the first generation of the car, produced in 1950-1967, gained enormous popularity and the affectionate nickname "Cucumber". Significant changes took place in the Transporter model, especially from the fourth generation, when the design, power units and the place where the engine was placed (it was moved to the front from the rear of the car) changed significantly. The latest generation was presented in 2015.

This is definitely an advanced modeler kit. There are lots of parts, and lots of crisp detail. Take your time and follow the comprehensive instructions. In the end, you'll have built a beautiful model that you'll be proud to display.

Fun and challenging!

This kit was fun to build. It definitely is not for the beginner. There are a lot of parts to assemble. Definitely supervise if you're having a child assemble this one. That all said, it's a very good kit to work with. I would definitely recommend!

Great kit

I love this model, very

I love this model, very cool. Only complaint is I wish they modeled the engine in more detail. Otherwise there are plenty of parts and detail throughout the model.

The Ol' Battleaxe bought this one. After looking at all of the parts, I think it'll be a very entertaining build of a long awaited subject.

Fine.Found some warping of the front window frame due to tight manufacture's packaging but still useable. Lacked some of the diorama pieces shown on the box illustration but otherwise a nicely detailed kit.

Seems an ok model

I cant comment on this model too much as I bought it as a present, but I did notice that the buck doesnt stop at buying just the model. You will need to buy the glue and all the paints required to make it as per instructions and that could be as much or more than the model itself when you total it up...

Excellent detail, correct to original. Lots of parts that will take time to assemble. Not a kit for beginners. Instructions very hard to figure out. No written instructions. Instructions are pictures and symbols only. Kit is by Revell of Germany, no American warranty available. It helps greatly if one knows the original VW or has access to original photos.
