Quality: Fine Texture: Makes the hair soft (comfortable, no sting) Effectiveness: As expectedThis color is very subtle. You can clearly see it when you're in a bright spot. But most of the time, It would look like all natural hair color (brown-black). And so, I kinda wish the color pops out more so I might reapply later. My goal really is to have a dark auburn hair color so I am not going to risk trying the Medium Auburn one (i might regret if ever). I'm going to use the same color in like a month or so.Anyway, this is my first time using revlon hair color. I love how easy it is to use. The box also has everything you need (ofc expect for the brushes). It's got the formula and a pair of plastic gloves.

I purchased this Revlon Colorsilk beautiful hair color in the shade dark brown. I needed to do a root touch-up. It was easy to apply without any harsh chemical smells. What really drawn me to purchase this particular hair dye is that it's ammonia free. I thought that might be easier and healthier for my hair than the hair dye with ammonia. Also, I've noticed that it is extremely difficult to find hair dye in the drugstore that's ammonia free. I've been dying my own hair for years. This was convenient. The only issue that I had was I noticed a lot of fallout when rinsing the product out of my hair. And there is only a tiny conditioner packet that comes with this hair dye. And I have waste length hair. But considering the price, I think it's overall a great product ... MoreI purchased this Revlon Colorsilk beautiful hair color in the shade dark brown. Works very well, especially for being so cheap. Used it to dye a light brown wig to a soft black. Added 10 more minutes as it’s lighter but could have added the extra 10 minutes recommended for blond hair. Had to keep working dye into hair to the whole process as I’d see parts that weren’t coloring as fast on their own. Very pleased with the lighter streaks throughout. Much prefer this to a flat solid black. First time using hair dye so thought it would all be just single-tone black. This was a very expensive natural hair wig so glad it didn’t cause any shedding. The no drip formula is easy to apply. The conditioner is so good. The hair is extremely soft. Wish they sold by itself. I’ll be using conditioner for color treated hair from now on. Great coverage and conditioning
21 May 2024

Love the low ammonia and light fragrance (I have allergies and this doesn’t bother me). My hair is in great condition after using. Color is very good. I use it to add dimension to my hair. I like a darker root and pieces between my highlights so it doesn’t look washed out. I follow the instructions and it works great. *someone complained about the blonde shade but you need bleach to highlight darker hair. You can’t buy blonde color and expect that result. Also: my hair is medium brown and colored. I got a few “hot roots” using another product in a cool tea, so best to stick to medium brown or dark brown (without golden or red tones if you have dark brown hair with blonde highlights and need to cover grays or add back some dimension. Longer, thicker hair likely requires 2 boxes if you’re doing full root to tip color.

It's lovely, even for chemo or medicated hair.
18 May 2024

I have a lot of chemicals in my hair because of massive doses of prescription drugs. So far, this is the only color that give me accurate results. Everything else turns ASH, regardless of what the color or toner actually should be. Not their fault. It's the chemicals in my hair. So, this color: If you leave it on long enough (30 minutes), it turns into a lovely "Champagne" blonde, just like on the package. I went from a med/dark brown. If you leave it on for less than 30 minutes, you'll get a perfect sandy color without any "champagne" tones. My best definition of this color is warm sand, unless you cut the time short.

Just a huge mess
10 July 2024

The actual color result is ok, the process to get it in your hair was nothing but a huge mess. The dye is so watery you're lucky if any of it gets into your hair. I usually put Vaseline along my hairline to keep my skin from getting color on it (I have very dry skin and it just soaks up the color), somehow this stuff managed to soak into my skin despite the layer of Vaseline. I ended up with more dye on my shirt and the floor than my hair. Then there's the tiny little packet of after color conditioner. I have thin, fine hair and it was barely enough for my hair. If I had been dying my daughter's hair we would have need five or six of those little packets for her thick hair. Clairol gives you an entire tube of conditioner. UM. THERE'S NO DIFFERENCE

My hair is naturally medium blonde. But I decided to lighten it up. So got this cheap box. The little included bottles are for someone with either short, or thin hair. If your hair is thick medium length you probably need 3-4 boxes. I bought the 004 blonde. The pictures will the multi colored long sleeve top is the before pictures, my natural color. The other 2 pictures with the short sleeve black dress are the after pictures. I followed the instructions and left on for 45 minutes. The only thing I think that went wrong was that I needed 4 boxes. Not sure if I will do this again as it will take 4 years for new hair to completely replace the coated dye hair. best price ever to cover gray roots!

I have been dyeing my hair to cover some gray roots monthly and had tried various hair dyes including those specially for covering gray roots, and I am surprised how this one ended up looking really defined black and probably the best in covering my gray hair areas! Although my favorite clairol root touch up was easier to use cover gray roots due to the brush provided and the product itself, I am more satisfied with the color coming from this revlon dye. so if you want to use it to dye your hair or to cover graying hair, it is excellent for both! the color stayed longer than any other black/ blue black dye products i had used before. While this is not a foamy type, it is a no mess/non drip so you can do it yourself at home.
