I had to shop around to find the + version, and as always B & H - simply had what I wanted. I tried to 'get buy' with a couple of other options, and they were a waste of time. This + Pro unit works, where others were 'cheaper' but 'cheap', and over priced.I've learned something about RODE, they make quality stuff. I've spent the last month setting up a home pod/vidcast studio, and I have learned - sometimes brand matters. If you need one of these, this is the one you want, it is worth tracking down and paying a little bit extra. Looks really sharp too. Truly impressive after trying out other concepts.

I’ve been using a Samson for a few years but it was only alright. This thing kicks butt. Super stable and the clamp mount is fantastic. The included desk mounts are both very high quality. The arm itself is very heavy duty and adjusts with minimum force while still holding its position perfectly. I’m using it with an AT2035 and I couldn’t be happier with the result.Rode customer service is exceptional from prior history. I’m surprised this product isn’t sold in more stores, it’s probably the best arm that Best Buy stocks.

There really isn't a lot to say about this, it a very well made and easy to use boom arm. It works with both my condenser mics as well as my dynamic mics without a hitch (except for the SM7B which I'll get back to). According to other reviews I've seen on youtube comparing this to the regular PSA1, apparently there's a locking mechanism on the PSA1 to hold it in place, otherwise it will just fold out on its own. Glad that I bought this instead because you really don't need to mess with any knobs or screwed to keep it in position; just move it around to the position you desire and it will stay in place. My only complaint is that the thick washer they use to keep the microphone screw adapter in place is a little too wide and it digs into the end of my XLR cable when ... My only complaint is that the thick washer they use to keep the microphone screw adapter in place is a little too wide and it digs into the end of my XLR cable when using the Shure SM7B. Obviously not going to be a problem with other mics and this is purely an unfortunate coincidence with the design of the SM7B. One other thing that seems a little weird to me is that a few people seem to dislike the branding on the sleeves, which doesn't really bother me in the slightest (or really appear ugly to me in any way shape or form) but the again I don't do podcasts and nor do I make content where I'm seen with the boom arm. It also comes with a kit if you wanna drill some holes into your desk and have the mount for the boom arm integrated with your desk, which I don't intend to use since the regular clamp works great for me, but it is pretty nice that they include it with the package in the event you'd like to do that. Definitely worth the money if you have it and you've been eyeing this one!

A silent-moving arm that's almost in every way better than the original. There's only two things to take note if you're buying this. The base:I use a fully desk. Because of the arm underneath the desk, coupled with a huge monitor with a hood, there's not many places to put the arm. I can't put it on the side because the clamp doesn't extend far down enough to clear it. So there's very few places to put it.The logo:It's not just the size that will be a bit annoying, but its placement. Rode absolutely saw a good chunk of the demographic being people on camera and wants to advertise their product. I paid a lot of money for it. I don't want to advertise it beyond that.Overall:A great buy, but definitely check to make sure the clamp is compatible with your desk

After reading all the reviews, I knew this was the boom arm that I wanted. And it's actually nicer than I thought it would be. Every little aspect of this thing is just perfect design without any noise when I extend it.... and moving it back and forth is a piece of cake.Plus it is pretty stunning with a nice mike hooked up to it. I use the Samson Q9U and it is a match made in heaven!I also drilled a hole in my desk.... and used the optional piece they give you if you don't want to attach it to your desk in the back... and it's perfect. It fits even better and has a small hole in the back for your USB C cable.I also did what some other people have done and I used a scissors to cut off the neoprene wrapping.... with the huge RODE white, bold letters.... which ... Absolutely best boom arm that you can buy!!Thanx Rode!!!
I've almost bought this boom several times, but I just couldn't justify it. I thought I would find something just as good for less on amazon or something. I bought several different brands and I'm here to tell you this... DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON OTHER BOOM ARMS. I did it and I'm here to tell you that because I did you don't have to now. I should have purchased this from the very beginning and saved myself a few hundred dollars. Since buying this I no longer have to adjust tensioning points to try to hold my mic where I want it, no more fiddling with loosening nut to angle mic. This is a pull it where you want it and let go. It just stays where you leave it regardless of the angle or position. Whatever wizardry they put into developing this is amazing. I get if you ... I get if you think the big white RODE is obnoxious or whatever, but I'm going to tell you after using other brands and coming to appreciate the creation and ease of use for this product I have grown to love the logo on there. There's guys deserve to have it on there like that. If it's that bad just cover it up with some fabric tape. The neoprene sleeves really make this a sleek looking unit. Hope this helps any of u on the fence about it. I won't use any other boom for my streaming or podcast.
If your mic os within the specified weight, go ahead and add this one to cart.Continuously adjustable and HOLDS, anywhere you put it. I dint even see another continually adjustable boom in this price range.Ive been building my ultimate desk for work/play/hobby/flex all year. I easily see this outlasting my ergotrons, assuming the springs hold out.Only cons are there are a few places it is limited on precise placement(could be me not knowing it well enough yet) and it only has one articulation point. These are minor though.
Non-professional here with limited exposure to studio gear. That said, the arm is working very well for me. Stable and quiet with an EV RE320 mic and 309A shock mount.I really like the dual base options supplied standard with the arm. I'm using the arm on a custom 3D printed base. The base supplied for installation through a desk top helped keep my base installation easy to design and reasonably compact. The screw-on C-clamp mount I had been using and typical with most low cost arms resulted in a bulkier and less stable installation. While the arm provides significantly increased vibration isolation when compared to the cheap spring tensioned arm I'd been using, I still find the 309A shock mount adds helpful additional isolation. With the PSA1+, some arm movement vibrations (rotation in particular) make it to the mic when used without the 309A... far less than with the previous spring tensioned arm, but still there. With the 309A, arm movements are silent.I feel the arm was well worth the cost and am happy with my purchase.
It does what we need it to do. It is sturdy, easy to maneuver, and gets out of the way when unneeded. We also really like the mic cabling. So, four stars. We deducted one star because of (1) the logo eyesore: they put their logo on it four times, in huge letters. It is the most obnoxious, garish item in our whole studio, so we will be blacking the letters out. Instead of ensuring people know what brand our mic arm is, they have ensured no one will ever know. The second reason we deducted one star is the packaging. The way the arm is bound up in cardboard makes it impossible to preserve it for return or future sale. We believe they could have come up with a more elegant and less wasteful solution. To get the Shure SM7B to work, you have to remove the washer from the end of the boom arm (it prevents the mic plug from connecting). If you want to position the mic at 90 to the arm, you have to rotate your Shure yoke 90 degrees and mount it with the mic connector outwards / upwards, otherwise the mic plug will hit the boom arm tightening wheels.
