My British Shorthair, Katherine is prone to dental plaque on her teeth. She refuses to have her teeth cleaned by us. The vet suggested that we switch her cat food to this specialized formula. At her last vet visit, there was a remarkable improvement in her teeth. Our vet was so thrilled with the results! This oral care car food is not cheap so please be warned ahead. A large bag (14 lb) costs almost one hundred dollars. The smaller bag (3lb) sells for almost forty dollars. It seems to be a bit easier to bite into compared to the regular cat food that Katherine used to it. It may be the shape of the pieces, which are square.

Suitability:OkPerformance:OkQuality:OkThe size of the kibbles is larger than the other two brands which I mixed in, which promotes chewing and hence aids in removing tartar. But my cat hardly chew still. Just a few crunch and swallow. The bag instruction recommends brushing the teeth still for dental health. So no point buying this dental kibbles if tooth brushing is still essential.

Not happy with their ‘specials’. Not specials at all. Taken in not going to happen again
7 September 2024

My cats really like this product. But I’m not happy about the way I bought it. It was buy one get one half price. Being a member my price was about $10 cheaper than normal price. BUT when I went to pay I had to pay full price. So the total price difference was only about $1-2. Why buy 2 at a time when one would have done

Sounded great
3 August 2023

My Cat has serious stomach problems. A few months ago I switched her to kitten food in this brand even though she isn't a kitten. She adjusted well to it and was doing pretty well, but not great. She also has pretty bad teeth, which may or may not having something to with her throwing up often. When it came time to get a new bag of food I decided to try the dental. There were runny tumeric looking poo piles all over the house, so evidently the dental didn't agree with her tummy at all! It's probably a great food, but it definitely didn't agree with my Girl.

Worked very well
12 March 2023

Our kitten arrived from a rescue home with such bad gingivitus that the vets suggested removing all his teeth. He always had inflamed gums and disliked having his head touched as it was obviously sensitive - which made brushing/cleaning his teeth and everything else we tried difficult. Although we'd had a cat with no teeth before, and she'd coped well, we wanted to avoid tooth removal if possible and started the Royal Canin Oral about 3 years ago. We occaisionally swap it out for other oral brands, to give him a change , but he seems to love this one and the vet is impressed with the state of his teeth and gums. We have the occaisional flare up, but generally so much better and he is ok with having his head scratched, so seems much happier.
