Bought this a couple of weeks ago as a gift and the giftee was really happy with it. It’s a good size and has a good handle. Personally I would not say it was worth £8... Maybe £5-£6
Luxury every day. Tea only tastes like tea in bone china and these mugs are a little luxury every day.
Cups are nice and and as expected but all seem to have extremely delicate handles. I bought 6 of these a few weeks back and all but 1 has a crack on the cup holder. Some even have a chip on the cup itself. Poor quality. Not recommended.
I ordered the cup only. I was scared that it would break while shipping but received the cup without a damage. Nice cup :)

This was the perfect mug - the china is not too thick nor perilously thin, and in my view it's the perfect size.It is worth noting that Royal Doulton's website describe the mug as 400ml, not 300ml as stated here. By my measurements, I would agree it is bigger than 300ml. So I was pleasantly surprised when I visited a John Lewis shop, having thought from the website that it was a non-starter.The inside is ever so, ever so slightly ridged, which is a lovely touch as this is the nature of wheel-made mugs. However if you are a tea drinker living in a hard water area this can make avoiding stains slightly more difficult as the tannins somehow collect on the ridges - perhaps not an issue for those with a dishwasher.
I love this mug. It’s nice and big but still quite fine around the rim. The quality is good, a little luxury for my morning tea.
