My one criticism is that the slots are not wide enough to fit a standard slice and the options you have, therefore, are to have a pale top border to the slice or to cut the bread in half and toast each part alone which would increase energy usage if more than one round is needed. This seems to be a common complaint in many other makes of toaster. Other wise, this is a good appliance

We empty the crumb tray often, but despite this the rcd on the house trips. What is wrong with the toaster to have such an extreme effect?! No more Russell Hobb's toasters for us.

This 2 slot toaster has all the functions you need for a gadget that you just want to make toast! No whistles and bells - it just toasts bread - albeit small square slices of bread. It is very reasonably priced and looks good in an open plan kitchen/living room.
There is disparity in heating-one side darker than the other on one slot-otherwise it toasts well. My one criticism is that the slots are not wide enough to fit a standard slice and the options you have, therefore, are to have a pale top border to the slice or to cut the bread in half and toast each part alone which would increase energy usage if more than one round is needed. It's a Russel-Hobbs kitchen appliance, so blindly trust the quality. Ease-of-fitting - just plug and play!! Simple to use, with explicit instructions - three modes to choose from toaster, defroster and reheater - with a browning knob to select degree of browning of toast!!! So easy to use, my mum took it out of the box and started using it straightaway!!!
I had to replace a previous toaster which caught fire and decided not to go for anything fancy, just a standard example at a reasonable price. This works just as well as any previous toasters. Does the job its intended to go
I bought this to replace our old Russell Hobbs toaster which we've had for about 15 years. The quality of the replacement is vastly inferior ... very lightweight and tinny. Also the slots are smaller and don't accommodate slices of batch loaves. Very disappointed.
I have only had the toaster two days but already we have used it several times. Its nice looking, very simple to operate. I have had a Russell Hobbs before for about 7 years and I think the same model. It gave up on me a few days ago after serving me well and its the reason I went for the same one.
This toaster looks goods & on first glance appears to have it all (reheat button, defrost button...). However, nowhere is it mentioned that the bread that you would like to toast has to be a certain length. It is impossible to satisfactorily toast a normal piece of bread, as it either won't fit in horizontally, or sticks out the top & you get half toast, half bread. Very annoying, very disappointing. Not fit for purpose.
its a nice little toaster for the money only good for standard size bread .Bloomer slice wouldnt fit but for the price its good
Heats side 1 of the slice more than side 2, so we turn over the slice half way through. The control knob is black with the setting also in black. Difficult to see - so piece of white plastic stuck on to clarify. I would think that the designer has never used this toaster. Not quite bad enough to send back but would not buy again.
