Ryobi OLM1833B 18V One+ Cordless 33cm Lawnmower (Body Only), anthracite/green

This cordless lawnmower is so much easier to use (due ti lightness & not having to continuously throw the electric cord out the way). It does feel more flimsy than my previous mowers but I guess it is lighter & thus doesn’t need the sturdier construction. Time will tell, I’ve only had it a few weeks. My one criticism is that I think it could do with one lower cut setting - maybe I cut my lawn too close but then my neighbours also seem to. Overall I’m glad I made the move to cordless.

The lawn mower was well packaged and easy to assemble. It cuts well. With one 5Ah battery I can cut both front and rear lawns. It does give the impression of not being the strongest mower, but this makes it light to carry around, even with the battery in place. Not having any cables makes mowing so much easier. I am very pleased with my purchase overall.

A smashing lightweight machine that is ideal for a quick once over of a lawn that’s regularly mowed. It’s not designed to be a heavy duty machine for longer grass, I feel it’s just for shorter grass to keep it well manicured during the summer months.Battery life is good and it’s easy to clean after use. This is my second Ryobi mower as the last one finally needed replacing after many years of use.I do also keep a heavy duty mower on hand for times when I’m not able to regularly mow and the grass gets a little longer as this mower is not the right tool for the job with longer grass.Great little mower if used for its correct purpose - I wouldn’t be without mine.

First the good bits it's light, easy to manoeuvre and straight forward to use. However I bought this to replace my corded 6year old Ryobi mower. This new one is less robust and feels a little cheap. In particular the screws to fix the handle to the body of the mower and the leaver to heighten the cutting level. This is rigid plastic which feels it could easily break. The instruction manual pictures are cluttered and overwhelming. In the end I just used the pictures on the box! This mislead me as the fiddly screws attaching the handle to the mower unit are shown to screw in from the front, not so, they attach from the back and only just fit because of the closeness of the wheels. Oh yes make sure you remove the mulching tool before you mow as it comes fitted unless you want the clippings spread over your lawn.

Battery capacity was very poor, barely doing two rows up and down my lawn before being requiring to change. I had ordered a spare battery in anticipation that it would be required but it clearly had the same poor capacity as the original one.Since having returned the mower and two batteries, I have not had written confirmation that you have received them nor have I had a notification of my refund. Service?

It is very light, very easy to get in and out of the shed and effortless to push around. It’s a silly thing to say, but it’s very ‘plasticky’ and seems like it won’t last more than a couple of summers, obviously time will tell. My main gripe is that it doesn’t cut short enough on the lowest setting. However! I was determined to do something about this as it annoyed me, it turns out that it was a 5 seconds fix, the adjuster handle stop can be overridden! Ryobi would not advise this of course, but it’s my money and my grass. The battery charge is eaten up fairly quickly, but if you have 2 batteries it isn’t a problem. I would not buy this again at full price but definitely would at sale price.

Very good value as it included battery and charger - many "offers" from other sellers, especially on eBay, are just for the bare tool. Cuts nicely while the grass does not get too high but I think would struggle if you don't cut regularly as it doesn't have the power of a petrol mower. However, being so light it is really easy to use and as it's so much more of a pleasure, you don't mind using it regularly. For storage the handle comes out of the main body of the mower easily and I do not bother to use the thumbscrews as the handle stays in fine without if you use the mower gently - tho obviously that's at own risk.

As good as or even perhaps a little better mower than expected, the only negative comment in our review, hence only 4 stars for quality is the cutting hight adjustment, could be wrong but does feel a little flimsy for an item that will be used regularly. The only other comment is we have inserted a plug and socket - whoops, there goes the warranty - to the switch lead which allows the handle assembly to separate from the mower for better storage and transportation and eliminates possible damage to the lead or switch assembly. First use was on a rather rough lawn about 70msq and the 4amp battery still had life in it.

This is an excellent lawn mower made so much easier without trailing cables! Cuts well at varying heights. Folds down for storage. Only thing is that a single battery charge is ok for the small lawn….but you need two batteries for a larger lawn. Otherwise it’s highly recommended.

Very disappointed. After altering the height of cut, it does not cut evenly. Only any use on short grass. Battery life poor. I have two small lawns at my house but I can only cut one and a half of them before the battery dies, The newspaper advert quotes that the mower will cut up150 square meters. Mine certainly does not do anything like that, and I have since discovered that other customers have had a similar problem. Buyer beware. The mower may be collapsible but only after a lot of fiddling. I suppose you get what you pay for. Would I buy again? Definitely not.
