I simply love this tool. It looked good in the product video I viewed before I bought it and it is so much better in real life. It cuts cleanly and effortlessly and easily matches the advertised number of cuts on a single battery charge. The tool comes into its own when you have to lop a few branches from a tree. Ever cut a large branch and then spent ages cutting off all the side branches with a manual lopper to fit them into the recycling? It takes ages and is tiring when you have to do 40 or 50 cuts. With this tool the only hard work is lifting the cut branches into green waste bin.Did I mention I love this tool?

I bought this tool to prune my fruit trees so , I don’t need to use the ladder I could do it from the ground . My daughter has just bought a block of land with a lot of small trees, they have to be cut back to have a fire break. After 2 hours with this tool and a 5 hour battery I had cut down 15 small trees and the battery was still going strong. Will only cut the size that they say, highly recommend this tool.

This Ryobi Bypass Lopper has done a lot of work since purchased and has performed beautifully. I was surprised by how much life was still in the battery after a few hours work. Not having to spread handles as required on my old lopper makes this Lopper far more versatile and less tiring. It has good balance and isn’t very heavy. No need to bend down to cut up lopped branches for chipping and sharing the 18V battery with the blower and reciprocating pruning saw makes the skin really good value for money. Get your hands on one of these at Bunnings. You won’t be disappointed.

I bought my Bypass Lopper when I was half way through doing a severe cutback on a large hedge. I tried using an electic chainsaw with great difficulty and a very poor result.I could not believe how easy the Ryobi electric lopper was to use and what a clean cut it made on the heavier branches (20mm). It truly lived up to the claim that it would easily do 200 cuts on a 2.0Ah battery. My only regret is that I did not buy it sooner.
This was my review 3 years ago...just after having it replaced for the 2nd time, under guarantee."Bought one and found it a brilliant tool to use..... However...after about 10 charges of use, the plastic housing the cutting top of the tool fits into split...I watched it being pulled apart by the power of the tool as it pulled the jaws shut onto a branch.....It came with a good guarantee, so I exchanged it at Bunnings. Again the replacement was brilliant....until about 8 charges of use, when the jaws end of the pull cable stripped its screw thread under the same directional force which split the plastic housing. I'll again be replacing it under guarantee as it is a brilliant tool, and probably add an extra top cable lock nut to stop thread stripping.....hoping that ... MoreThis was my review 3 years ago...just after having it replaced for the 2nd time, under guarantee."Bought one and found it a brilliant tool to use..... This handheld lopper is the best lopper i have held in my small hands. No more aches and strain when trimming the shrubs and height of the small trees in the garden. Ryobi you have made my maintenance for my garden look more attractive with better growth. Thankyou!!!!!!
The range of my Ryobi gardening maintenance tools is getting so diverse now but every tool has its pride of place in my workshop and has a specific use. With our large areas of gardens and yards, each tool helps make my gardening easier, more enjoyable and saves me time. That is where this Lopper tool is absolutely perfect for cutting off branches that are just out of reach with my Ryobi Secateurs or reciprocating saw (with pruning blade) or too close to use a pole lopper.
Living in an area with many large gum trees and having a fire place in our house, the One+ Bypass Lopper has proved to be an invaluable addition to my Ryobi tool box. Our yard is regularly littered with branches and twigs from the gum trees and it is so easy to walk around the yard cutting the pieces up into kindling and bag up on the spot. The Bypass Lopper has saved me many hours of my time with the press of a button with keeping my yard clear of branch litter. Compared to the physical effort I use to put in using manual secateurs and hand saws, my Ryobi Bypass Lopper is a dream come true!
Long story short, first one failed, returned to Bunnings no problems. Had paper receipt.Replacement worked OK for a while then died. (Cable retracted too far after a jam then failed to open all the way up again). Second time round, misplaced receipt thought it was on power pass, now stuck with an under warranty product without proof of purchase. I would not suggest this product as there has been 2 failures over 2 years. All branches were on spring growth of fruit trees so nothing too hard. Bunnings were super helpful trying to locate the product on my power pass (over 45min) Ryobi gave me the sorry, cant help. Over 6k worth of Ryobi tools and this is the only one I have had multiple problems with.
Got the lopper to “hard prune” nearly 100m of 3m high 30yr old viburnum hedges that had grown out of control. Am half way through and so far very happy with the weight (not too heavy), balance, reach, lopping cycle time, and battery use. A proper safety cover for the business end when storing it would be a bonus. The 6 year warranty has given me the confidence to not hold back with the branches and got me over the line with the purchase. A worthwhile addition to the other Ryobi gear in the tool shed.
