Best electric wipper snipper ive baught yet. This was purchased to replace my pervious ryobi wipper snipper as it was struggling to get through the thinker grass in the summer months. The new brushless HP wipper snipper breezes through grass even at 1.5m in height and about 0.5m thick to the fence line. The 4.0Mah battery was ample enough to get my front yard done before it ran out despite the grass being so thick. I didnt need to use the second speed setting which was nice.My only isses would are the fact that its a little weighty in the back and doesnt come with a strap so it does put some steain on the forearm after a while.

2-stroke petrol trimmer has finally given up and probably not worth repairing so picked up this Ryobi job as I already have a number of batteries on hand. Was fairly skeptical at first and watched a few youtube videos before taking the plunge. Not disappointed. This thing is a pleasure to use. Plenty of power. Excellent cutting path. Good weight and feel. Very easy to get and even cut over large areas. Bump head works nicely. Much quieter than the gas machine. Does go through the battery but lasts long enough for a complete mow. Have found running on "low speed" with 38cm cut width seemed fine for pretty much everything - you have the option of high/low and a 33 or 38cm string. 33cm & low would give longest run time and probably suffice most jobs. Took maybe 3/4 of ... More2-stroke petrol trimmer has finally given up and probably not worth repairing so picked up this Ryobi job as I already have a number of batteries on hand. Very highly recommended

Great value. Almost as good as a petrol model.

For what I was after, this was perfect. It was for a grandmother to do the edges of a 3,000m2 block by herself. Performance was almost as good as petrol, but easier to start, lighter to carry, no need to store jerry cans or oil, quieter and (I expect) less ongoing maintenance.Vertical cuts are a little awkward. The function to rotate 180 degrees on other Ryobi (and competing) models is easier to weild, but still works well enough.I recommend a second battery, but the performance a 4ah battery was adequate, and lasted as long as advertised.Overkill for smaller blocks, but perfect for anything short of commercial use, doing house after house.Potential improvements :1. It would be nice if it had a shoulder strap, but it is light enough for most users.2. ... MoreFor what I was after, this was perfect. It was for a grandmother to do the edges of a 3,000m2 block by herself. Only the distance between the middle handle and head is adjustable, and not by much. This is important since this model appeals to shorter users.3. This is intended for larger blocks, so it would be nice if there was a second kit version with 2 larger batteries.

Line trimmer, 4Ah battery and charger
4 February 2023

Line trimmer came with 4Ah battery and charger. Easy to assemble. The 4Ah battery is enough to do the front and back lawns, but bought a twin back of batteries to have on hand for when the battery dies. Line feed works well, and the weight is well balanced. Plenty of power, and great not to have to worry about mixing fuel, and wondering if It'll start.

Love this straight shaft line trimmer. The brushless motor is on par with my Petrol line trimmer. I've come off a 30cc petrol 2-stroke curve shaft where the head rotates clockwise. I love how quiet this is in comparison (my neighbours thank me too!!!)I can easily do edging with this flipped over, I couldn't do this easily on my old curve shaft Petrol. I can also more easily get into tight nooks and crannies around the garden.Loading the line with the bump head is super quick and easy. One negative is the Reel-Easy bump feed knob does wear out quickly so I'd recommend switching the trimmer head to something like the Echo Speed-Feed 400.The only thing I had to get used to is that this straight-shaft head spins the opposite direction, counter clockwise, like 99% ... MoreLove this straight shaft line trimmer. I now cut with a left-to-right sweeping motion, instead of right-to-left, but not a big deal really. To those people that say this throws stuff back at you and/or the guard is too small, you're doing it wrong. To use this, cut while sweeping left-to-right (not right-to-left) and all is fine. That way the debris is thrown forward.

Review on 18v one+ Ryobi tools

This is the 3rd Ryobi 18 v one+ tool I have bought, the other being a mower & a vacuum cleaner. I have been a professional gardener for a few decades now but I have had to slow down in the last few years & not having to struggle with moody 2 stroke engines, on in the case of the vacuum cumbersome power leads is a godsend. Also having the same type of battery for multiple tools is just the icing on the top, free tip, you can never have to many battery's. Possibly the only down side is the time it takes to fully charge a battery & if the battery is not topped up prior to using, especially in one of these higher power using machines, the machine will fail to start even if is showing 4 bars. So if this happens to you, just pop the battery back in the charger till the ... MoreThis is the 3rd Ryobi 18 v one+ tool I have bought, the other being a mower & a vacuum cleaner. So far so good.

Wasn’t sure the battery line trimmers would be powerful enough and was leaning to the 36V version but thankfully stuck with this 18V model. Even on low setting it has plenty of power to cut through buffalo runners and egding. Cutting height also conveniently good for buffalo lawn and the bump release for the line works well and easily to my surprise. Have not had much fun with those in the past. Overall a good unit. Time will tell on battery life but after two weeks and running around the whole garden a few times already it has performed well.

Super Line Trimmer makes my Garden tasks easy,,,,
2 October 2022

Bought the 18V Ryobi 33/38cm Brushless Line trimmer to replace my old petrol Line Trimmer. I am very happy with my new Line Trimmer as it is powerful, light weighted, quiet and easy to handle with ergonomic handles. The nylon line ejection system works very well and supplies sufficient line to trim weeds and grass effectively. I am a 62 year old man that has a 1 acre garden that requires many hours of weekly work, the Ryobi Trimmer has made my garden trimming & brush cutting a much easier task and actually look forward to using my Ryobi Trimmer. I have also bought a new Ryobi 18V x 2 battery mower which replaced my petrol mower, l am so impressed the power and ease as this mower is unstoppable especially when the second battery kicks in, it's like a turbo kicking in ... MoreBought the 18V Ryobi 33/38cm Brushless Line trimmer to replace my old petrol Line Trimmer. Very effective albeit a bit heavy
27 December 2022

Everyone who has seen it in action was surprised by the effectiveness considering it was battery powered, I really put it to the test against some very high grass out at the farm that grew massive and strong with this year's endless rain. While it cuts through some extremely tough material, the battery does drain fast - only 20 square metres of the tough stuff on a 4ah battery (doing 3 cuts due to the height). However for my yard at the house it does the whole thing on a single charge so would recommend it for medium sized yards.Another consideration is the weight is on the heavy side and there is no support strap, so if you do intend to use it for more than 20 minutes at a time you are going to feel it in your forearms.
