I have been looking at these RYOBI power files for some time now, and recently I had a job thatrequired quite a lot of metal filing so that gave a good reason to buy one. This turned out to be a VERY good buy and I would and have recommended this to my friendsand brothers.Thank you Ryobi for another excellent product.

The Power File is a great addition to any tool collection, its extremely versatile and the list of applications is ever growing. The build quality is excellent and robust. I have used the Power File extensively and it is performing flawlessly. The quick change belt system is great along with the centering adjustment. A well thought out and executed design, another fantastic product from Ryobi.

I had some paint to remove from some square pipe I was using to build an antenna. I was contemplating how to user my Dremel to do the job when I remembered I have just recently bought this great little tool.In a nutshell it did the job with no fuss. Very happy with this little power file. 10/10 Ryobi

I was thinking off the blue machine $500. It's arm can swivel and has 3 optional arm widths available 6, 9 and 13. The cheap bulk belts for them were not available from China. So I bought this at 25% of the cost. 100+ belts from china for it, in grits from 20 to 800, in a variety of grit materials. Having such a wide range of belts available allows for sharpening expensive knives. I wish I could get Scotch Brite or felt belts for polishing too. The tool itself is faultless.
I use the corded version of this tool a lot and was very excited by the release of the cordless version. It works well and has plenty of toque. For some applications I'd prefer more belt speed though, it's not as fast as the mains powered version.Super useful for flush trimming PVC pipe and de-burring metal parts. This is often the only sander that will reach into hard to get to places.I wouldn't be without one.I would rate this a 5 if the belt speed was a bit faster.
Great addition to my collection of Ryobi battery powered tools. Needed one for a specific purpose and now use it all the time. Great for sharpening garden tools, especially if you use a fine grade belt and take your time. Took a while to convince myself I needed this but so glad I got it.
Hi all I’ve been using Ryobi cordless tools now for over 10years I’ve been extremely happy with their range & pricing. My original drill & batteries still work the drill chuck has problems accepting less than5 mm bits but that’s my fault. The drill has been my main work tool & worked hard in some really objective places it hasn’t had an easy life. I’ve bought a newer one to replace it but it’s still going so I’m extremely happy.
I bought the power file to remove the bark off the fruit wood that I cut off our trees so that I can use it our smoker. With the coarsest belt it does this very well. I have discovered so many uses for it. I had a door that was sticking and the power file made short work of removing the excess wood. I have used it for removing rusty metal off fishing rod holders and list goes on. I bought it for one use and discovered so many more.
Handy for all those small intricate spots that a grinder is too big for. I bought this not actually expecting to use it much, but its ended up being one of my most used tools now. Only downside is it is a little bulky, but can't complain for the price.
LikesReally useful for tights spaces like the corners of timber louvres. would even be more useful if the head was just a couple of mm smaller (my louvres slates are 20 mm apart). I seen some complains about the lower speed compare with corded devices, but at least on timber remove timber incredible fast and don't jam, you have to be careful not to leave on too long. And can just use the tip for spots of troubles like a rust spot better than the multitoolDislikes ?1. smaller head would be nice but you have to go the 3 times the price to get that2. limited options on sanding belts, 40 , 80 and 120. 150 or even 180 would be nice options.3. No Ryobi sanding belts for sale. Bunnings have a replacement but only 40 and 80 grit left at my local shop4. the tip is ...
