The crushing hammer action of the 18V SDS+ Rotary (Pneumatic) Hammer Drill is excellent for drilling through stone and concrete. Backed by an 18V motor with variable speed, forward and reverse, gives complete control to the user when taking on tough tasks. A non-hammer setting means it can be used to drill into wood and metal too. Four other modes (hammer and rotary drill, chisel and chisel alignment) add to the tool's strong diversity.

I’ve had Ryobis for nearly twenty years but bought Ryobi SDS drill and as soon as I used it it started smoking and getting hot! Really disappointed and lost confidence in Ryobi. Luckily got a refund!

A good general purpose hammer drill. Relatively lightweight and performs well on brick and lighter materials both in drill and chisel mode, but struggled with breeze block.Highly recommended for home DIY, but needs a bit more oomph for industrial use

Brought when on offer and impressed for price. Removed 4msq of floor tiles on one charge of 4Ah battery with ease. Light weight and hammer chisel rotate stop great feature.

I had some Derbyshire limestone to drill into to hang some curtains. My hammer drill didn't cope at all & I just became tired & irritable trying.I purchased this & it made light work of the job. An excellent, well balanced tool.
I was a bit sceptical about how this this drill would perform given it's price but I'm happy to say I shouldn't have been. It goes through concrete, stone, brick no problem just like an SDS drill costing a couple or few hundred pounds more. Of course you shouldn't expect to be able to fit a massive drill bit and start drilling through a house wall from outside to in to fit an overflow pipe for example, but for general DIY work it's superb. Compact, light, easy to handle, and with it being one of the ONE+ range, if you already have an existing ONE+ tool then you can use your same battery and charger. All in all great value for money (especially if you've shopped around and got it at a good price) I've only had the drill for a short time so can't comment on how robust ... MoreI was a bit sceptical about how this this drill would perform given it's price but I'm happy to say I shouldn't have been. I bought this after getting stuck for a drill with some grunt for a small job way away from a mains supply for my normal sds drill. Drilled into reinforced concrete garage floor (5× 13mm x 100mm deep) with as much ease as I would expect from a mains sds. I have also used it too drill some 12" - 9" rendered brick 22mm holes (×5) in a tight space as its fairly compact. 5hr batt did the lot.
I bought this over Christmas but returned, shortly afterwards as it was not working properly the 2nd time I tried to use itDisappointing as seemed like a great piece of kit when it worked but clearly not design for the heavy duty use which is what you want from a Sds?I chased out some walls and was really easy to do as you did not need to faff around with the power cable, but did not properly function later as the knob to change gear from hammer to drill would not engage and remained stuck in hammer mode. Needed to go back to my corded Borsch which has served me well for over 9 years. Thank good for B&Q return policy
I have a vast range of Ryobi tools, from a complete garden range, to all household power tools, indoor and outdoor that you can think of or would require.Sooner or later I had to buy a bad one. This drill lasted approximately 10 minutes of use before burning out during the drilling of a third 10mm hole in concrete for an anchor bolt.I cannot find the receipt otherwise I would have taken it back.I have had another Ryobi cordless SDS drill for around 10 years and it has never failed me. I was sceptical when I saw there was no additional handle on the drill to provide stability. As a chisel drill only, for light works, it may be adequte. I am rather disappointed, £100, such a waste.
I have a wide range of Ryobi products and, as with most of them, this drill is quite well designed, has good features and is mostly well made - so I have said it is "good quality" BUT I would not recommend it to serious DIYers or professionals. Having a chisel facility on a lightweight cordless sds is very useful and the drill is reasonably powerful but this drill does not have adequate cooling for the motor which runs far too hot, and heavy use will almost certainly kill it - as some other reviews have pointed out. I am looking at modifying mine with additional cooling for the motor and if that works then I think it will be an excellent tool capable of hard work. I am looking at modifying mine with additional cooling for the motor and if that works then I think it will be an excellent tool capable of hard work. As it stands, it is useful for short bursts of lightweight work - drilling and chiselling - but get something better (Bosch, DeWalt, etc) if you need it for heavier work. A note to Ryobi would be to make sure that a basically good design is not spoiled by such a fundamental flaw, and to design a decent cooling system for the motor, which seems to get hot even under light loads. This is not good enough as it stands.
Added to my collection of Ryobi one+ power tools. This SDS hammer drill...Can honestly say top 3 status within my collection....Fantastic hammer drill.... makes easy work in masonry, walls inside or outside..The variable speed trigger allows for gentle start to full power control....Remember though as with any drill, hammer or not, the drill is only as good as the drill bit and the operator.Buy branded SDS drill bits, not the cheap options.I have many Ryobi power tools and I am very impressed with the Ryobi quality and feel...
