But using on a run was a far different experience. it requires pulling the very tight to fit and even still moves and required constant readjusting to make it sit in the correct spot. Ve aware great product but sizing seems off.

Good vest, fits well. Enough space for everything you need. However, the quality and durability of the material that the pack is made of is poor. Bought this pack new used it for my 100k once and zippy pocket ripped mid race. Had to change out pack mid race.Now I need a replacement.

After reading all the glowing reviews of the Adv Skin 5, I may have gotten my hopes up a little too high. I like that I can carry water, food, and have a place to stash extra gear for when I find myself overheating during a long run in the winter. I’m 5’ 11”, 170 lbs, and perfectly between sizes. I find the medium a little too small and the large a little too big. The medium chafes my neck on the left side, and I don’t like the feeling of the lowest segment of the draw cord against my upper abdomen. with the large, there’s too much bounce in the water bottles, and the fit is too sloppy overall. As for pockets, there is definitely plenty of space, but i really wish there was a dedicated phone pocket. The zipped pocket on the left is too deep and wide, so the phone ... That being said, I can fit everything I'd take with me in the 12 into this 5 with no issues. It's pretty impressive how much it can hold. I'm 6'1" and 190lbs and the large fits me well. Other's have complained about neck chaffing? Not for me. This thing has performed flawlessly. It's a bit hot but I've never owned a pack that wasn't. I have no issues drinking out of the bottles, but if you do, Salomon sells extensions that you can trim to your exact needs. I have only used this one time so I can’t comment on the durability. I’d like to comment on the fit because I struggled with selecting this over the woman’s version. I’m a female and my bra size is 34 C. After reading reviews I was not sure if I should get the woman or the unisex. I opted for the unisex and here’s why. I read a review of the woman’s fit saying that there was only one space in the back for bladder and any other storage. With the unisex the bladder can be separate from the rest of your gear because there is a separate pocket for the bladder. This is very important. Now on to the fit with my ladies. So, if you’re a female with some extra bounce in the front, don’t be afraid of this unisex version. It is comfortable and will conform to your body. And as for measurements and fitting, I measured around my chest at the largest spot and I was 37 inches exactly and the size small is perfect in terms of fit. I can even fit the water flasks in the front and the water bladder in the back and pack a light jacket and this is still comfortable to wear. I hope this helps someone make their decision.
I bought this for my long run marathon training. The pockets are really accessible and safe for belongings. Although female, I bought the unisex version rather than the women specific and it works fine for fit and bottle placement. I hardly notice it is there when running as it is very comfortable and I don’t get too hot (although so far I have only run in British winter). Worth investing in this great piece of kit.
At first I was a little sceptic about these kind of products. Do I really need it? I purchased a Skin 5. What a perfect fit, very comfortable which feels like a second skin. The softflasks are great and drinking was never that easy. I’m used to wearing my camera and pole with me and my gear can be easily stored . The pole fits perfectly in the bladder housing. I can recommend this one
The next area redesign from the previous version gives this a one star. The mesh will rub the back of your neck and it is SO UNCOMFORTABLE. This issue was already brought up with reviews on the Sense Pro 5 vest, don't know why they stupidly kept with the uncomfortable design. If you can get the older version, do so.
Unfortunately this vest is soo hot, even without the pouch for the bladder and bladder in it. In the fall I was running and I was the only person sweating ... please please please make another without it being so hot to wear.I couldn't image wearing this in the summer on a long run where I'll need the bladder.But this winter it really helps to keep me warm! Maybe Salomon call this the winter vest and make a light/cool/breathable one for warn/hot weather... promise I will buy the cool new vest like so many others :-)The fit it awesome, even for someone like me who is heavy chested, I can't wear very many vests due to that but this vest forms perfectly. To accommodate for my large chest I went with an XL too big but I can adjust it.Thanks for making this, now ...
