I ordered the SRK16 Equipment Rack from Sam Ash for my home studio. It arrived lightning fast and It's the perfect size to mount my rack gear. It's made of steel and it's really sturdy. It came with all the fasteners to assemble and mount my gear. You can choose to mount your rack gear with the supplied European or standard fasteners, it has a dual threaded mounting pillar on each side. Even fully loaded, moving it is a breeze. It has two locking casters to prevent it from rolling out of place if needed.

I used to have a Raxxess unit that this Smason unit replaced. The Raxesss unit fell apart after several years of use. This unit is vastly superior in every fashion It was simple to put together...just had to affix acres into the pre-drills locations. The only technical part was making sure the correct holes were facing outward as the unit comes with both US and Metric sized holes. The unit is made of solid high grade steel, which is much stronger and more durable than the typical pressure treated wood products you see in the industry. I used it to hold several RAID array hooked up to my Mac Pro...and for that purpose I could not be happier with it.

I needed a rack that I could wheel around, but I didn't want an MDF case, so I went with this product. Quality exceeded my expectation. Assembly was easy, although you have to be somewhat careful of sharp edges. Very generous with a full set of screws and washer (both metric and SAE). All of my gear fit perfectly. Includes rails in the front and the back, and can be configured for either metric or SAE.

I installed this for a customer who was looking for a compact solution for his AV and IT equipment. He wanted something sturdy that he could move with ease without worrying about wear and tear - all of this within his limited budget. I was able to meet all his demands with this affordable rack. It was extremely easy to put together, and it is rock SOLID. Caster wheels are the heavy duty type. As a professional integrator for the past 15 years, I can think of a dozen applications I could use this rack for. I will definitely continue to use this rack in the future.
Good- Price Good- Shipping method and materials to protect item Good- Study rack Good- Wheels are easy to roll on carpet Average- Instruction book Interesting- The screws and rail alignment can be challenging until you figure out the secret. The instruction book alludes to this issue. Apparently the rails can be used either for English or Metric screws. Both types of screws are conveniently contained with the rack. However neither the rails or screws are marked to determine which they are. Therefore, you have to match up the correct screws and rails in order for the rack to fit together and align properly. Your preference of screw types would then be mounted towards the front of the unit.
Was looking forward to having this and looked like a good unit, but looked is the key word here. Putting the thing together ate way too much time since things don't line up for assembly. However the other issue is that the rack holes don't line up so you're limited at what spots you can mount things, which definitely set things back for me a bit. Maybe it's a 3.5, but with two significant issues went with the 3. Disappointing workmanship, if you want to call it that. Also came with scratches, dirt splotches, and bent edges. If you accept the limitations it's fine though expected more for the money.
EXCELLENT RACK! Assembly was quick, and easy. Instructions were clear and accurate. Rack is of high quality and exactly what I needed. Also included plenty of Rack Screws, and Washers for installing equipment, definite bonus!
Opted for an open box unit and - other than a couple of tears in the carton and fixable minor bends in the side panels - ended up with a unit that could pass as brand new! Once assembled its very solid, and the casters swivel and roll smoothly. Comes with mounting holes AND SCREWS/isolation washers for BOTH Euro and US threads/spacing. 100% satisfied!!!
I did have an issue with two holes on the US side being threaded at an angle causing the screws not to sit flush. The base comes with the wheels attached, the front wheels have locks. I really like having the 18" x 20" flat top to fit my console on. Easy to follow instructions, however, there are two larger bags of bolts included for mounting devices. One set is US threading, the other is Metric threading.
For the price, this is the most solid, easy to assemble rack I have ever purchased. It took me about 15 minutes to unpack and assemble. I was very pleasantly surprised by the casters. It includes a locking caster which is helpful. I have several custom wood racks that I love, but the Samson rack is a great value.
