I love my new suitcase from Samsonite. It is solidly constructued and very light with some great features as per the specification. The included shoe bag, laundry bag and light-weight plastic clothes hangar are most welcome and I can't wait to try out this suitace on my first trip overseas in decades later this year.

We were so excited to purchase this item at first, and used it as soon as we could on a flight from Melbourne to Tasmania. Everything was fine on that ONE trip. Now we're getting ready for an international trip: packing, weighing, unpacking, re-weighing, repacking and re-weighing. Unfortunately, it didn't survive the trip from the bedroom to the living room! One of the hinge straps on the side came loose and fell off. The rivet on the that was supposed to hold it was just dangling.Very disappointed as our flight is in a few days and we have to get a replacement ASAP. Not impressed with a supposedly European made piece of luggage with a ten year warranty that falls apart after a domestic flight.

Lots of room and looks good. The lid of the case is as useable as the base. It has a zippered cover so that items don't fall out when you openit up. There is also a cover over the base which is detachable and contains an extra pocket, inside of which are 2 bags (laundry / shoes) and a coat hanger. It is lightweight and very easy to manoeuvre with 4 wheels. Seems well-made and looks great.

Constant problems! I am a regular long haul traveller and have an 18 month old Lite-Cube DLX 82cm case on which the hinges have broken off on 4 different trips thus always needing repair (the first time on its first journey!). I now have resorted to using a strap to secure and strengthen the case, but am considering dropping it off at a charity shop instead! The centre partition which doubles up as a suit bag is inadequate and makes closing the case awkward as it catches on the zip. Similarly, the rubber zip protectors catch in the zip especially at the corners. The side of the case accommodating the handle requires a zipped mesh cover to contain its contents as the elasticated straps are inadequate to prevent the contents spilling out when closing ( much as the Lite-Cube range has). The carbon fibre shell suffered an enormous dent on its first outing, so not quite as robust as advertised... All in all, gross disappointment in a Samsonite product - particularly at that price - and I have loyally used this brand for the last 40 years!
So these cases look fantastic that is undeniable. Laser engraving also pretty cool. Turned up as promised, super quick too. However, I took one flight from Birmingham to Dubai, business class priority luggage. When I took these off the conveyor at Dubai there was a crack in the case polycarbonate about 3-4 inches long. Multiple scrapes and scuffs all over the external of both cases. Now the scuffs you kind of expect on luggage over time and they don't destroy the look of the case too much but they are significant enough to worry long-term.... however it was surprising to see just how much there was upon the first use/flight. I do not blame the airline for these or the baggage handling as I would class that as absolutely normal. No other luggage in our party was ... MoreSo these cases look fantastic that is undeniable. I do not blame the airline for these or the baggage handling as I would class that as absolutely normal. No other luggage in our party was damaged in this way including other Samsonite products. However the crack on the one case to me seemed absolutely unacceptable, not only was there a crack but a significant enough dent too. For context I can slide a credit card into this crack and it slides into the layering of the polycarbonate material of the case. I had owned these cases from new for less then 1 week when this damage occurred.Given the price of these cases £400+ you just don't expect this level of damage upon first use. Both cases were sent back to Samsonite/K2 Global services for inspection after speaking to Samsonite customer services, however yesterday both were sent back with a letter explaining the damage was no covered under Samsonite warranty and that no repair work would be undertaken as it was not possible for the scuffs to be repaired... and the crack is not covered under warranty as damage by a "common carrier" (ie a flight) is not covered under the warranty. This is important for all customers to grasp... as it makes Samsonite's "10 year guarantee" absolutely pointless for the customer using the luggage normally.I have been a Samsonite user for 20 years... all my cases have scuffs etc which happen over a period of time... never have I experienced such damage so quickly after just one flight... I have never tried to claim under the Samsonite warranty, as I accept when things get used the look used over time, on this occasion I have I found the guarantee to be worthless. I hold no blame to the airline or baggage handlers as no other luggage in our party was damaged in such a way.One last key point is that since this I have seen other complaints on this website regarding this luggage and people mentioning the exact same damage... clearly there is an inherent problem.... wonder how long these reviews will last on the website.Shocking warranty, Shocking customer service (apart form the free collection for inspection), Shocking material quality for their most expensive product.
This is the best suitcase I have ever owned , super light and runs so smoothly. The matching shoe bags and valet case are lovely to have and make packing very enjoyable. Definitely worth the price tag.
Purchased and, within one use, scratched up. Zippers constantly stick and require a lot of fiddling with. After about 5 uses, zipper now spontaneously comes undone, so by the time it arrives, it's unzipped all the way around and the only thing holding my contents in is the TSA lock.Reached out to Samsonite to resolve and told I have to drive over 100km (two trips, so 400km if I collect) to have repaired or pay for it to be returned and repaired. Because I travel constantly for work, I'll likely have to purchase a new suitcase if I return it, so - either way - I'm out of pocket. So disappointed in both the suitcase and the service, given how much I paid.
I have used this suitcase over a few years but I am disappointed with the quality considering the high price of this item. The lightweight material of this bag is easily damaged by heavier boxes/bags at airport transit - The corner of the bag was crushed which led to a permanent deformity.I had to have to fix the weak hinges of this bag several times now - not a nice way to start/finish an overseas trip to have to worry about getting the bag fixed at an authorised Samsonite centre and worrying whether it will survive the trip home. This is a real shame as I have other Samsonite suitcases that have been far more durable.
I had the smaller version but it is more suitable for a weekend than the week I was to have in Scotland with my family. There was less than a week to go but I took the chance and ordered the medium sized case to match, including having my name engraved on it. I have to have some assistance and the name really hurried up finding my luggage at the terminal. It arrived at the last moment, but that was fine. The ease of movement, even with my bag on the handle, meant I could manoeuvre it easily when I was on my own. I took so much with me that I was worried it would be over the weight allowance, but no, the case itself is so light that I was able to take everything I wanted. The inside is so well thought out that, despite not being unpacked for three days everything ... MoreI had the smaller version but it is more suitable for a weekend than the week I was to have in Scotland with my family. I took so much with me that I was worried it would be over the weight allowance, but no, the case itself is so light that I was able to take everything I wanted. The inside is so well thought out that, despite not being unpacked for three days everything remained uncreased. Opening centrally, divides the capacity into two halves. Small items and underwear in one side, day clothes securely in the other. My evening wear hung on the hanger provided in the central divider. This was also so convenient for 'living out of the case' when I was there, as I could see everything. Extra shoe bags solved muddy shoe problem on return.Strong and yet beautifully made with real leather trim, I felt very smart and proud of it. Expensive especially for a pensioner, but that is when you really need things as easy as possible if you are going to tackle life on your own and still enjoy yourself. Oh, and yes. I am off again next month!
We have owned Samsonite Cube, Lite etc and they all faired well and most are still standing firm to abuses, despite the heavy handling of baggage handlers - when they see EXPENSIVE Samsonite, they test the limit of the luggage. Unfortunately for THIS particular design, the leather-looking hinge/straps for the two shell covers that hold them together by a rivet on both ends, and after 2 trips (+10 countries) in less than a year of ownership, the strap ripped one of the straps rivets out the shell cover! So buyers beware (caveat emptor...).
