I purchased the 75-inch Samsung Frame TV in May 2023 and initially, I absolutely loved it. The picture quality was stunning, and the design seamlessly blended into my living room, doubling as a beautiful piece of art when not in use. For over a year, it worked flawlessly, and I couldn't have been happier with my purchase.However, out of nowhere in July 2024, the TV suddenly stopped turning on. For such an expensive and high-end product, I expected much better reliability and customer support from Samsung. I am now reconsidering my loyalty to the brand and would advise others to be cautious before investing in a Samsung Frame TV.

This review focuses on vertical mounting and art mode. It's no good! Have 2024 55" but looking to buy other sizes (32" etc) for smaller spaces. 50" and below are only 60hz while 55"+ is 120hz refresh rate.Overall as an art display system, nothing else on the market compares, you will forget it's a TV (see photo 5) - but it leaves SO much to be desired in terms of software, available art options in vertical setups and app compatibility. Photos are in a temporary setup while renovating.- The mount in the box cannot be used for vertically mounting the TV. Samsung's own support only vaguely know of their own $500 auto-rotating mount. Pressing the voice button gives an on-screen error saying it's only available in landscape (see photo 1).- Many apps refuse to launch in portrait, including Netflix and Prime Video.- The Samsung TV Plus interface doesn't utilize the full height of the screen in places it really should while watching TV. The interface is cut off for no reason in some places as well (see photo 2).- Switching between apps and favorited TV plus channels takes too many steps. Someone at Samsung must go and revise the interface in both the TV's home pages and Samsung TV Plus to simplify things.Art mode issues:- Samsung's Art mode shop does not separate portrait (vertical) art at all, making it impossible to locate available artwork except by manually reviewing EVERY SINGLE available art piece. God forbid they provide a search filter, or icon to differentiate them.- There are only a handful of vertical art pieces available out of the thousands of art pieces listed. Paid art membership price is NOT worth it if you only plan on vertically mounted displays (see photo 3). You will need to upload your own.- Samsung's Art mode only has a single 'favorites' section, meaning both portrait and landscape pieces end up in the same group. This makes a mess for those with multiple TVs. We need be able to have multiple saved art groupings for both mood and screen orientations.- The 'change channel' remote button does nothing in art mode, one would think it would quickly swap between queued art pieces without a disruptive UI popup. Just displays an error.- There is no way to set a default 'matte' style for displayed art, meaning each art piece in rotation must have its matte option manually set. Sadly, the shadow box version seems to be default (see photo 3 for shadow matte, photo 4 for other style).- The great looking complimentary art and animations function well in vertical mode cannot be added to favorites and thus cannot be rotated through with the paid artworks.- Samsung support seems to be pretty clueless about art mode, membership fees not listed on Samsung account site etc :(Other gotchas:- 32" model has a shorter/thicker OneConnect cable than newer models. No one has any idea what the length actually is before purchasing.- The optional bezels are very expensive for what they are, but are designed not to block the sensor/remote control system on the display.- While you are technically able to, you should not run the OneConnect cables behind walls outside a protective cable conduit. Follow your local regulations.

Pressing the voice button gives an on-screen error saying it's only available in landscape (see photo 1).- Many apps refuse to launch in portrait, including Netflix and Prime Video.- The Samsung TV Plus interface doesn't utilize the full height of the screen in places it really should while watching TV. The interface is cut off for no reason in some places as well (see photo 2).- Switching between apps and favorited TV plus channels takes too many steps. Someone at Samsung must go and revise the interface in both the TV's home pages and Samsung TV Plus to simplify things.Art mode issues:- Samsung's Art mode shop does not separate portrait (vertical) art at all, making it impossible to locate available artwork except by manually reviewing EVERY SINGLE available art piece. God forbid they provide a search filter, or icon to differentiate them.- There are only a handful of vertical art pieces available out of the thousands of art pieces listed. Paid art membership price is NOT worth it if you only plan on vertically mounted displays (see photo 3). You will need to upload your own.- Samsung's Art mode only has a single 'favorites' section, meaning both portrait and landscape pieces end up in the same group. This makes a mess for those with multiple TVs. We need be able to have multiple saved art groupings for both mood and screen orientations.- The 'change channel' remote button does nothing in art mode, one would think it would quickly swap between queued art pieces without a disruptive UI popup. Just displays an error.- There is no way to set a default 'matte' style for displayed art, meaning each art piece in rotation must have its matte option manually set. Sadly, the shadow box version seems to be default (see photo 3 for shadow matte, photo 4 for other style).- The great looking complimentary art and animations function well in vertical mode cannot be added to favorites and thus cannot be rotated through with the paid artworks.- Samsung support seems to be pretty clueless about art mode, membership fees not listed on Samsung account site etc :(Other gotchas:- 32" model has a shorter/thicker OneConnect cable than newer models. No one has any idea what the length actually is before purchasing.- The optional bezels are very expensive for what they are, but are designed not to block the sensor/remote control system on the display.- While you are technically able to, you should not run the OneConnect cables behind walls outside a protective cable conduit. Follow your local regulations.

Great Picture, Great Design, Remote Fails

I purchased this TV in November of 2022 on Samsung.com. About 6 months into use, the remote failed on me. I called their customer support and they walked me through steps to troubleshoot the remote and it was determined it was faulty and they sent me a new one. The new one paired immediately and away I went for several more months until the NEW remote failed on me as well, outside of the one year warranty. Luckily I bought 2 years of Samsung Care support so I called to go through the process again, troubleshooting and replacement. To my disappointment Samsung Care does not cover "accessories" so I was going to have to buy the 3rd new remote myself., all of this happening within about a 13 month time frame. And Samsung is not standing behind their product here. Additional online accounts of the same issue can be found easily.Without a dedicated functioning remote, the TV becomes cumbersome to control via the APP. I have to unlock my phone, open the Smarthings app, click on my TV, wait for it to "load" so to speak, then get to the remote function and finally control my TV. This is an unacceptable solution for a TV that costs as much as it does and should have a dedicate remote that should be expected to last the life of the TV.Unless you as a buyer are aware of this very real issue and possibility that your remote will fail and you are okay with that, I cannot recommend the purchase of this TV.

After watching quite a few reviews online we opted for a 55in Frame TV (2022) from Samsung sold by the its art frame ability and the ability to customise the frame through an additional bezel. The TV aspect works as expected. It's not the best image but we knew that going in. We find artwork with lots happening eg no flat colours etc works best as there is some 'muddy' areas on the screen which become more apparent with flat surface colours.c) Auto Dimming function leave a lot to be desired. You can set the brightness you want for specific artwork... but The Frame does not remember this setting... so all of a sudden the artwork is brighter than it should be and looks out of place. This can happen after there has been some light level changes in the room where the TV tries to match the level of brightness needed. But if lighting goes back to where the original setting was made, the TV doesn't follow.d) We had to turn Night Mode off (which turns off the TV at night eg no light in the room) as it made the TV turn off even in daytime. It's apparently a known issue with a firmware update promised but with our TV up to date and the 2022 model, we wouldn't hold our breath.

Went 3 out of 5 starts on this one. I bought a 55" Samsung Frame TV. It's very pretty and the picture on the TV when being used to look like a piece of art is fantastic!....but we don't use it to display art nearly as much as we thought we would, if ever. We have had it for about a month now. 99% of the time when anyone is home it is used to watch something on TV like Netflix or Amazon Prime. I love the fact that it came with it's own mount and when it is mounted it is super close to the wall. Much nicer than a bulky wall mount that you can see, plus it came withvtge TV. All the auxiliary connections are seperate from the TV and are in a box about 14 inches wide, 6 inches deep and 4 inches tall. I just plug in something once like a video game console, computer or what ever and never go back there again. Also, if you wanted to have zero wires going to the TV, you would need to build a box in the wall with an electrical outlet to hold the auxiliary box as that is how you supply power to the TV.The picture quality when showing art is great as well as when watching TV. The flat mat finish on the screen makes everything look great and is really enjoyable to watch!The smart TV technology is just ok. It has all the bells and whistles as most TVs on the market but I still can't figure out how to install some 3rd party apps. Most of if not all the time we run the TV off an Amazon firestick to have access to some of the apps we had on the precious TV.I have almost have Samsung for everything and love all of it but at the end of the day I pretty much paid an exra $1000 buck for a TV to be able to clip a piece of plastic on the edge to make it look like a picture frame(which I also had to buy) and we don't use it to show art. I don't think it was worth it.

The Samsung rep at the St Catharines Best Buy store assured me that despite a dirth of official Samsung online information on the topic, the 2024 43" model could indeed be hung vertically, permanently, on a wall, and when fed a 2160x3840 image, would present it to the viewer in full screen Portrait mode.So I crossed my fingers and ordered it from their online store. It arrived via Purolator to my condo door two days later, and was light enough that I could pull it out of the box myself and set it up on the included stand. The moment of truth had now arrived.I picked up the TV gently, and turned it vertically, while my wife reported on what she was seeing. After a few seconds, she exclaimed it flipped into full screen Portrait mode. Great joy! So indeed the Samsung rep spoke truth: the TV detects the flip and does its thing...the whole reason we got the TV. I held it vertical for over 5 minutes just to verify it stayed in Portrait mode - and it did. Whew. (Note, the automatic Flip to Portrait Image only seems to occur in one TV physical vertical flip direction, so learn which way - left side up or right side up - before mounting permanently).Standard Apple Iphone Portrait mode photos can be displayed in this manner too, or really any photo that the "Image Size" app is fed. Note that all photos will display in a (dull?) matte finish, not in a flashy-bright mode, which is fine by us. And truly little or no glare that we can notice so far, compared to a regular TV we have nearby.Now knowing Portrait mode worked via USB input, it was time to try My Photos in the ART mode option of the TV. So I fired up the SmartThings app on the Ipad, picked the Art option, and scrolled down to My Photos. A tap on that brought up an Ipad screen wherein the bottom right has a Plus icon that lets me pick photos from my Ipad-stored photos - and then tap Add at the top right. (If you just get a spinning/busy icon, just flick away the app, and restart it..that worked for me). You next get a screen with Mat options to pick, then "Set on Frame" which transmits the photo(s) to the Frame's (4 GB? 🤷‍♂️) memory. And voila...it all worked!The Portrait Mode photos look great. So I'll be online ordering a companion 50" model this week for horizontally wall-mounted Landscape Mode displays, next to this vertically wall-mounted 43" Portrait Mode unit.

I'm sure some rave about this TV, sure those individuals probably have the newest tech on everything too. However this TV is an overpriced underwhelming product. I gave it a solid month before calling a quits. I wouldn't say I hate it because the features of "home base" screen are nice but that's about it. The item is heavy you'd think it light weight but nope, it also come with an "ol' ball and chain" additional black box. Wires are just about the standard on other TV's. We purchased this with an educators discount targets is loosing customers base catering to the insane 1% crybaby population and they offered 20% off the additional sale price of 1199 so I paid around 900 and that's still overpriced. It did it with streaming platforms, with blurays, with local stations, connected to Internet and not connected. We first noticed it doing this while watching groundhogs day the scene where the mans choking and the room is a warm cozy red hue, it suddenly changed to a dull color. At first we thought it was Internet so we backed up the show and started the scene over this time the whole scene was dull. We then started noticing it down this during several shows. Altogether you can purchase a cheaper TV and get better features. Most like myself were attracted to the wall art feature, however there's still a glare still sound issues, still have to download art through the app (they don't tell you that) oh and the remote is tiny and white. This TV quality didn't impress me much especially at the asking price. Wish someone had a review such as mine so I could've made a better decision. Going back to my small 8 year old Vizio for now and I'll continue to hunt for a better product.

I bought this tv just a month a go and its already struggling to function at a basic level and no way to get help from Samsung after 15 days. The remote just decided to stop connecting to the tv despite being fully charged and attempting the pair process countless time. Works randomly in 5 minute spurts throughout the day then doesn't work at all. Simply trying to navigate through the menus and applications even when the remote IS working is a slow painful glitchy process. Googling a solve left no answers from samsung but plenty of other frustrated customers dealing with the same thing without answers. ALSO keep in mind if you buy this tv for the aesthetics be aware that in order to get anything actually appealing or decent applied to this in art mode you will have to find, download, photoshop and upload your own artwork because the art subscription this tv demands is also overpriced which could maybe be forgiven if it had anything that wasn't incredibly tacky and ugly. Buy a glitchy slow tv with a remote that doesn't work after a month just to get the privilege of paying EVEN MORE to be able to have the option to display the most embarrassingly ugly stock art you've ever seen! Completely disappointing product, the "Samsung" name has fallen to mean nothing more than a corruption filled junk peddler.
