I could charge luckily every 2nd day to manage as I need the phone for work. Also these don't have wireless charge, which made changing challenging too. Unfortunately I dropped it today. Not from a high distance and although the outside screen has a small corner crack it is completely stuffed. They aren't built like the proper original galaxy's.

Purchased this phone in April 2022. The seller was very helpful and answered a lot of questions prior to our actually purchasing the phone off of the WalMart web site. Camera is awesome. Charge doesn't hold as long as we'd like and a little tricky to turn on and off, but overall very pleased with the phone........... Until........... we found out this phone will no longer work / or will soon not be compatible with pre-paid phone plans with Straight Talk or Tracfone (they say, due to their new Verizon carrier towers). NOT upset with the vendor (unless they knew this was going to be an issue...), but really upset with these phone companies. They say our only option is to "upgrade" our phone(s) or we can get one of their "free" phones. NOT free, really, when you think of the hundreds of dollars we're losing on a phone(s) we purchased recently. Quite a racket. Why sell this model phone with 4g and VoLTE capability if it won't even work with one of the major carriers? (verizon). Makes no sense to us. We're not in the habit of replacing our phones every two years or less. We take care of them and expect them to last longer than this. Way too much $ to lose on this.

Just pick the assistant that's the best

Why does Samsung copy everything Google and Apple do (or vice versa)? I set up my phone to use the Google offerings, ie, auto fill Goole password, but the Samsung system during an update or something will somehow now have a lot of my passwords that were in the Google Password account, and sometimes my Google assistant is off but now Samsung Bixby is on. And it's like Samsung and Google don't seem to care that there systems are competitors, 1 of the systems should end up being the winner but that's usually not the case, it's a mishmash of things from both and neither side likes that there is no clear winner but they keep updating their systems so they look like their doing something to help the consumer but it just keeps everything the same. I don't want to keep having to search all of the stuff to find out where my mail, and other things are. So I think it's time to stop settling for mediocre and go for a winner, and it could be Apple

The ā€œAā€ Series has always intrigued me, mainly the A7x, but since for some odd reason that series model wasn’t going to be available here in Canada this year A52 5G it had to be. Did purchase for a good price and in all honestly can’t say I would have it if hadn’t.Prerequisites I have in a device: reasonable performer for my type of usage, good battery life, 128GB onboard storage, 4GB RAM (min), 1080 display (min), MicroSD card slot, OEM support in terms of security patches and OS upgrades. So yup the A52 5G meets or exceeds those requirements w/ease.Haven’t owned a Samsung since 2017 so seeing the A52 5G’s bright and vibrant Super AMOLED display was very welcoming. So yup the A52 5G meets or exceeds those requirements w/ease.Haven’t owned a Samsung since 2017 so seeing the A52 5G’s bright and vibrant Super AMOLED display was very welcoming. Performance in my limited use has been very good so far… I’m no stranger to low to mid tier devices as I own a few at present so definitely not entering uncharted waters here. So yeah up to this point it's performing very well for what I want out of it.Its 64 MP rear camera performance/output exceeds my expectations so no real complaints there, wide angle lens is OK too. The other cameras (rear macro & depth/selfie) aren’t something I’ll likely use often but are there if need be. Camera app is quick and responsive enough.Nice stereo speakers (majority of my phone’s have them), call quality is good, speakerphone works well, headphone jack. The off-putting…Upon unboxing gotta say the A52 5G’s flimsy matte black plastic back was a surprise/disappointment especially coming from Samsung. Yes this is a mid-ranger yet own other device’s that cost less than half of what’s being asked here and they are massively superior in this department. Thankfully we always adorn our devices in a case so essentially becomes a non-issue but still. Then there’s the bloat and oh boy is there lots! Wouldn’t mind so much if could toss what didn’t want/need into the trash bin but not an option for the majority of it, much of it can’t even be disabled. Guess I’ve become too accustomed w/near stock Android as to why we see this as being overpowering and unnecessary. Then there’s something about the device taking its time settling in after setup. Dunno maybe it’s just me yet our other 8 device’s, after initial setup, got in sync rather quickly with my usage habits, apps in use, notifications, etc… all my device’s of varying brands are set up similarly in regards to settings, apps, etc). The A52 5G on the other hand is taking a bit longer for some reason which makes it feel out of place in some ways. Nope by no means is this a big hindrance but the difference makes it a focal point, Iā€m confident it’’l sort itself out though. And even though I always use a case on my device would like to see Samsung offering up a few more colour options like they do in other regions… ā€œCustomer can have any colour phone they want so long as it is blackā€. Yeah that pretty much sums it up LOL.Bottom line.... A solid device for those not wanting to break the bank nor require the best-of-the-best, or most powerful. But be forewarned it is not perfect and strays quite a distance from stock Android if that’s your thing. And be prepared to deal with the bloat which might not be a problem if one’s used to Samsung’s ecosystem.P.S. The 5G aspect is of no use to me nor will it be for some time to come because of my location. Turned off the 120Hz display too since it failed to WOW me after comparing against my other device’s, besides I’ll take battery life over that option any day. Both can consume more battery and since I don’t see them as game-changer's in my smartphone world we can easily live w/o, they are there if the desire arises to use.

Top tier performance mind blowing sound
5 March 2023

The screen is top tier but what really creeps up on you is the sound quality.Watching a sports game on this will blow you away with the sound quality. Makes it feel like you are in the stands.Top of the line performance for a standard price.Basically does everything a galaxy s2 can with slightly better performance all around.Compared to the S2 the price is slightly lower, the screen is faster bigger. But the phone is heavier. The camera is significantly better than the S2.Downsides are its a lot bigger and heavier. The only really issue I have with it is the battery is so big that once its really low or empty it takes a long time to charge back up. And because the battery is so big you loose the habit of constantly having it charging.
