I used my Verizon promo to upgrade my phone. Now I have a pile and so many regrets. This is the worst and most expensive phone I've ever had. No screen protector works with fingerprint on the screen instead of the side function unlock that was WAY better tech. Apps glitch out and freeze. Apps don't auto update even with the settings properly adjusted. Auto rotate is always on and never locks in portrait whether turned on or off. The keyboard just stops functioning frequently and requires a full reboot even with shutting it down regularly. This thing gets waaaaaay too hot. The camera is awesome when it works but so many times the photos come out awful idk why but consistency is terrible. How about just give us all our money back because you know you released a less than half--efforted faulty product. I'd rather have my 3 year old S10e back--it actually functioned like a phone. I see yall not producing more to sell, clearly a testament to how terrible this product is. Now I just have this pile and I'll be waiting til my 2 years for the next free upgrade to get a phone that works half decent. Do not buy this product. Makes me want to ditch Samsung altogether and move on to Moto.

Upgraded from Note 9 S21 512G. Its a good phone. As an Android phone it does all the usual stuff competently. I really upgraded it for the camera although I note that the GPS works better than on the note 9 (it it just me or do Samsung GPS seem to always get buggy after a few years or so - having owned most of the Note's thats been my experience) I can see they put a lot of effort into the camera's but I dont think they are quite there yet (for what I want anyway). I still miss my note with 16 MP images and IM still waiting for Samsung to reach that base level again. 10 MP is NOT enough for a good image. I dont believe 12 MP is either myself. - So the main camera is impressive but its frustrating because its the ONLY decent sensor and its quite wide. if the Ultra wide and the 3X had the 64 mb sensor (and the 10 X had the current ultra wide sensor) I think this would actually been real jump forward. As it is , its not enough for me to NOT carry my point and shoot as well. The camera's are ok for forgettable snap shots (and the 10X camera isnt bad for using to read signs etc a fair way off) but the only GOOD sensor is the wide one. I also realise that its still an impressive achievement - BUT to me 3 of the camera / sensors produce shots at quality levels that are pushed too far. Less camera sensors of better quality would have made for a better flagship product. Maybe Im not usual BUT I would prefer to trade off less cameras for better sensor's images.

Nice Joke! They offered to replace it with a phone as per the original description, so I shipped it back. One week later, they respond back saying that the phone i ACTUALLY paid for was not available and they would send me a different colour/ configuration. Seems like someone at the company was having great fun with my order! Meh.
11 November 2023

I wanted a phone to hold me over for the next few months until the next model since mine is breaking. The phone came in 2 days. Preinstalled screen protector with a few scratches on it, not sure if they were on the actual phone or not and it wasn't in the original box.Transferred all my data, set it up, went to use apps, and the microphone wasn't picking up any sound or my voice, very muffled if any sound was heard. (All apps had permissions.) Made a phone call, the other person couldn't hear me at all. Installed a mic test app, didn't pick up my voice either.I contacted seller since it has a warranty, but its been 5 days without a response. I ended up just returning it to the store, and buying a brand new one. Awaiting my refund.

Not as advertised!

Feeling a little scammed. Phone was not as advertised. Phone was advertised as new and indeed it was not.The phone did come in plastic wrap around the outside of the box. Although a private arriving at my Carrier to have the phone activated, They raised a red flag for me when they said "this phone feels awfully light for a GS21". I didn't think anything about it.They set the phone on the counter to retrieve the sim card out of my old phone and I was like wait do new phones come with the screen protector already on them? They stated no. Upon looking at it the screen protector was also very crooked which obviously was put on by a third party. The Carrier then also advised Hey FYI new phones don't come in plastic wrap. I did go back to the ad before making the return and it did not state that it was a refurbish phone anywhere implying that the phone wasn't new.I did try to upload pictures to this review but it keeps kicking it out for some reason. Now I'm just pending my return so I can purchase a new phone elsewhere.

BEWARE - of buying refurbished phones from best buy. I just had worst experience. I got the phone and even title says that it is "UNLocked" but it was actually LOCKED !! with ATT. Talked with Mobile activation expert at best buy , kept him in conferened with ATT and ATT guy said that "installment is missing for the phone" so they cant unlock it. Best buy member said that HE CANNOT DO ANYTHING and NO ONE at best buy knows as what to do. then WHY DO YOU SELL phone telling that it is UNLOCKED while its actually LOCKED. LOST my weekend morning + today evening 3 hours - just in vain .. AND I STILL CANT USE THE PHONE

Having had an S8 in the past then went to an A31 for the last few years the S21 FE 5G was a huge improvement. Only one thing lets it down is the battery, and this is similar for most of the S range. Battery life is far superior on the A series. What has surprised me the most is the quality of the camera! Chose the S21 over the S22 for the slightly higher capacity battery even though the camera specs were much better on the S22, on paper at least! We use my phone for filming video reviews and this is a huge improvement both in resolution, colour and even sound. For the first time ever I have been able to take a clear photo of a full moon instead of it turning out as a white blurry blob! Can even see the craters.More than happy with this phone.

Only got a year in a half out of this phone. I have had so many battery and interface issues despite following guides online. My phone is up to date with its security updates and everything else but still acting like a brick. When I first got it there were slight bugs, nothing I couldn't deal with considering the model was only a couple months old at the time of purchase. The reason I bought this phone in the first place was to try out Samsung (originally an iPhone user.) I was very impressed with the app speeds, battery life and camera quality but now most of my apps take forever to load, randomly freeze, or I press it and it doesn't open up. Suspecting that it's probably a memory leak but I really don't have the patience to toy around with this phone any longer. I am saddened because I wish I could write a good review, I paid lots of money for this phone but shame on Samsung, gave me a terrible first impression with their phones. Looks like I'm going back to Apple. Save yourself the extra $$ and stay away from this model. I wouldn't doubt if the S22 develops similar issues too.

The Best Phone I've Owned so Far!

I got this phone as a gift last Christmas and I couldn't have asked for a better gift. I've always been a devoted Apple user and never thought to ever get a Samsung phone. However, after seeing an ad for the Samsung Galaxy S21, I could not get my eyes off of the design and the amazing colors! After I got my Phantom Violet S21+, I thought I'd take a long time to get used to it, but that is not the case at all! From the getgo, I was so excited and got used to the system fast. I grew to love the customizability and features this phone provided. Not only that, but I love the camera quality—it can zoom in so clear and so far. Further, I can't get enough of the design and how fast this phone is, as well as the battery-life (seriously the battery-life is so good.) I've even convinced many of my friends—who are die-hard Apple users—to liking this phone, and most of them plan to get one this Christmas for themselves! It's just so in tune with how you want it to look and operate, something I couldn't do on any of my old phones. Overall, I love this phone and don't plan on upgrading anytime soon, it's just great. If I do end up upgrading, I'll definitely have Samsung as my top choice, because after switching over?... I seriously can't look back.

I will preface this by saying I was using the S20+ 5G before this phone and I loved it. No issues great phone until the screen got cracked and Verizon offered to upgrade the phone since they couldn't replace the screen. So I did, little did I know that would be a mistake. Less features on the S21+ than the S20+ which seems so backwards to me. I can't choose refresh rates on a phone when the previous gen could? Crazy. USB-C port only works when cable is in a certain orientation. Isn't one of the benefits of USB-C the ability to plug in upside down and right side up? Well that's not a feature on this phone, but don't worry because sometime your USB-C port won't work at all and will not let you launch Dex or mirror screen over USB-C. Battery life sucks compared to the s20+. The microphone doesn't work during and after using android auto. I have to restart my phone to get the microphone to work again or use my phone in speaker mode to talk on the phone after unplugging from android auto. Unstable wifi connections, unstable wired connections, arguably worse sound quality compared to the last gen. Again none of the issues were seen on my S20+ which I had since it came out. Sad to see Samsung make such a subpar product. After being loyal to Samsung since the S6 it's time to go with another brand. I cannot trust that your newer products will not disappoint like this one. Good looking aesthetically, and comfortable in the hand though I will give it that.
