I needed to secure info from my older computer. The drive provided the ability to do that. This time since I was not sure whether the computer was fixable, I gave the drive to the Geek squad to download if that was needed. They did a great job and provided good advice.

I was thrilled to find such a great deal on this flash drive. So far it seems to be working just as I'd hoped, fast transfer of files. The largest I've transferred so far has been around 300 MBs so I can't speak to very large file transfer rate. My one complaint which is that the drive doesn't stay "in" with the drive looped onto a small key ring. The hole seems too close to the slider mechanism so any movement causes the drive to slide open. The purpose of this drive for me was for traveling daily to college classes and I didn't want a drive floating around loose in my backpack. I'm concerned long term about potential damage. I wouldn't purchase this particular model again for the design flaw but it's still a great value. A huge upgrade from using 2.0. Way faster. Really love the retractable port. I bought this primarily for storing my completed music tracks. I wish this device was offered in different color types.
Needed a jump drive because the new car we bought did not have a CD player and we have all our music on CD's. Talked with the car saleman and he told me how to transfer music to jump drive. Talked with Best Buy rep and he recommended this jump drive. Have started to transfer favorite CD's to jump drive and am pleased with Windows Media Player's ease of use to pick and chose what tracks I want to transfer. Also, found that having Internet running and using drop down menu on first track of CD will help identify CD and all the tracks. Have only had one problem with CD that we purchased from TimeLife that the Internet couldn't identify, so I had to type in all the track info. After transfer to jump drive, sound from car's sound system is terrific. Great purchase.
I've tried to use this in my car stereo but my car stereo couldn't read my music files. I've tried reformatting in many ways without success. I've tried NFTS, FAT32, and exFat. I have other flash drives from other manufacturers that work but this one would not. I called tech support and they couldn't help. One technician said that their flash drives were only meant for computers and not cars. Yet, I've been able to use their other flash drives in my car. Go figure.
The SanDisk USB 3 64 Gigabyte Drive is awesome! I use the SanDisk Flash Drives to copy and move data between computers. I also use them for storing data. I have been using SanDisk Flash Drives for years. I have never had a problem with SanDisk Flash Drives and strongly recommend them! :D
The sandisk usb 3.0 is lightweight and durable. I got it on sale which was much cheaper. It is lightweight and has a attractive shade of red. File transfer rates is 2 to 3 times faster than a usb 2.0. It has a maximum read speed of 100MB/S.ec The black Sandisk USB 3.0 comparable models come with a read speed of 80 MB/sec and 100MB/ sec. This is noticeable if you are transferring a large file. You can connect a lanyard as it does not come with one. I would have purchased a red 128GB or 256GB is there was one offered but the largest is 64GB. I do have a Sandisk USB 3.0 100 MB/sec in black. The USB C models are still a bit higher in price.
I mainly purchased to store files securely in the vault. I have real struggles trying to understand the instructions. They seem to cover various formats which do not apply to my windows. There are links not applicable. It is fine to use as any other flash drive. The secure vault application is my issue.
