i have mixed comments for this device. write speed is fast for 100mb transfers.for larger files and sustained writes, its not that good. i tried transferring 200gb of 4gb video files to this drive and it took a very long time. it writes somewhere between 40MBps then drops to single digit MBps for a few seconds then transfers at high speeds again. actually, i am somewhat expecting this type of speeds from a very small usb drive.read speed is satusfactory, can read sustained speeds of 100MBps. probably better if i have a 3.2 port.this drive gets hot during heavy usage. expected from a usb 3.2 drive. It is made of plastic. i hope that it will not crack because of the heat anytime soon.overall this drive is well within my expectations and it is fairly priced from what ... It's hands down the best small high performance flash drive on the market.Key benefits:- Size. Thumbnail sized smallest big-brand flash drive on the market.- Speed. USB 3.2 the fastest spee up to 130MB/sec speed on modern computers.- Durability. Small size and case design makes them hard to damage or break.- Reliability. Five year warranty, failure is very rare.- Design. Being tiny they're easier to lose, so SanDisk incorporated a keyring/string loop.- Price. They're surprisingly cheap and great value for a big-brand tiny sized flash drive.Drawbacks:- Heat. Get very hot. All flash drives do. Being thumbnail sized, they get hotter than larger flash drives though as there's less surface area to dissipate heat.

I bought the *previous version* of the Ultra Fit around 2016, and it started off pretty great - usually full USB 3.0 speeds for read, and a decent ~40 MB/s write. Not bad for the deal I got on the drive back then. Then, once I started putting more than 5GB of files on it (years later), its issues started showing up. Drive got very hot, and often ejected itself (Windows would do the unplug and replug sound). Move it to a USB 2.0 port, and the issues were gone, but you'd rarely beat 20MB/s writes. Now (of course after the warranty period), but after having written less than a terabyte or 2 on the drive, the drive is dying. With use on USB3 making errors and/or ejecting itself, I can only use it on USB2, but it now writes at ~6 MB/s, and I wouldn't be surprised if it ... But I don't.Great look, it was on my keychain for years and I didn't even loose the cap, but alas, the design is clearly heavily flawed, and these small drives just can't cool themselves fast enough. At least, not the SanDisk ones. I would have recommended it as a USB 2 drive, but even so, it seems like it can't even handle more than a dozen overwrites, which is woefully low for any flash tech (and this must have been TLC or better). That, or the heat killed it.

These are the absolute usb storage disk drives that I have ever used. With the PC I built I get super fast data transfers on large files. These things are so durable that I literally just realized that I've been washing a SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.2 Flash Drive in my shorts pocket in the washing machine, and after I stopped the cycle and tried to blow it out, it literally transferred the 11 GB of data onto my computer without any problem and is still perfectly functional. It's a small form factor. And I think WD/Sandisk is generally more reliable for storage than the competitors. The read speeds on this does get up to 400 mb/s i think, but the write speeds are very slow. Maybe around 20 mb/s. I don't know though. I haven't really measured it. Just seeing what it says when transferring larger sets of files. I don't know why the write speeds are that slow. Is it because of the small form factor and where the technology is right now?Still, they should say that their write speeds are MUCH slower than the read speeds. The way they market it, i think they said that it's transfer speeds up to 400 mb/s. But that's really only the read speeds, not the write speeds. That's misleading.
Tried using on Chromebook plus, Windows 11 Notebook and Apple Air. No problems with any. Used to transfer 130gb music library to each. All took one ran hour and under 90min; very similar. But compared to an older flash drive, this was twice the speed of the old one. I’m happy to see prices getting closer to $100/Tb. $25 for 256gb has been common for sometime, now this was below $50 for 512gb. And so small. It does get a bit warm with extended use, but that does not seem to affect performance. In watching copy on different OSs it interesting to see window load goes up and down, but Apple stays almost constant. Chrome seemed to relate to size of each file it was tranfering. A great drive
