Love love love these Schlage keypad deadbolts!Itās so liberating to have teenagers who refuse to carry keys be able to open the door themselves. No more standing around like lemmings waiting for mom to open the door!Whoo hoo! And, since these are NOT wi-fi enabled, no chance of someone hacking into our house! These locks are rock solidāunlike the keyless deadbolt I installed to our detached garage that frequently in-installs itself from the garage door opener app. These are just smart enough to have great features and no frustration!

I bought the first one about 5 or 6 years ago. At about year 3 when it was really cold out it would have a little trouble opening, the mechanism would hang up. New battery did not help. The following year I took it apart and sprayed a light silicon lubricant into the mechanism. This helped and it worked a couple of years with an occasional respray. This summer the mechanism would only engage after multiple tries so we mostly used the key. From what I can read about the lifetime warranty is in order to make a claim I have to send them the lock and after they evaluate it then maybe it will be covered. Of course while they have it I canāt lock my front door so the warranty is useless. I like the concept so I went to purchase a new one hoping to not use the same brand. ...Ā MoreI bought the first one about 5 or 6 years ago. Unfortunately all my other door hardware is this bright brass and the ones I could find without driving to multiple stores either didnāt come in the color or had motorized deadbolts or touch screens, none of which I want to rely on on a cold Minnesota day. I would not recommend this unless youāre ok with 3 or 4 years of reliable use and you donāt have to hire someone to install it for you.

Iāve used this lock on my front door since 2019. It is so convenient to be able to lock the door with one touch on my way out. The best part of the keyless entry is just that. Keyless. Itās great to leave the house and not have to my pockets the extra pat-down to ensure I have the house key on me. Itās simple to create a 4 digit passcode. I also love the fact that itās not WiFi connected. So in the case of a power or internet outage, the lock is not effected. I recently bought a second unit for my back door.

Despite unclear instructions, installation was easy. Lock mechanism works well, fit a standard door without issues. Easy to program, lock, and unlock. I can only give 3 because this product just feels cheap. Everything feels loose and rattles, and the inside thumbturn goes easily 30 degrees in either direction before engaging the actual locking mechanism. It felt so bad that I went back to the store and, with the help of a store worker, tried a couple other of the same lock, they all were approximately the same. I chose this model because it is one of the only ones with physical buttons and no wireless connectivity from a reputable company, but I will probably end up returning it to get something cheaper that doesn't feel like it's falling apart every time I engage ...Ā MoreDespite unclear instructions, installation was easy. I didnāt know that Iād like having a keypad deadbolt as much as I do. Turns out itās super useful. Itās way easier to lock when leaving the house because I donāt have to dig the key out of my pocket to lock it. My adult daughter who lives 2 blocks away was the one who encouraged me to this because she normally doesnāt carry keys when walks over.2 other things I like are it isnāt wireless and it isnāt a flawed kwikset āsmart keyā lock. The big reasons to buy from Builders is that all the locks in my order came keyed alike and the prices were good, especially considering that I didnāt have to rekey them myself.I recommend buying Schlage lock sets from Builders. Great selection, better prices that big box stores, and locks keyed alike.
We used to have this keypad. It was on the house when we bought it and we didnāt know how to program it, so half the neighborhood had our door code. About 6 mos ago we replaced our front and back door and bought new wifi keypads. Biggest.Mistake.Ever! We missed this one so much. No reliance on power or a wifi connection. We love how the keypad lights up so you can see what youāre doing in the dark. We love the ability to add and delete user codes with relative ease and it looks really clean and sharp on the door. Iām no handyman and it only took about 10 mins to install. The price point is perfect too; it doesnāt break the bank. We will never try anything else again!
We previously used an igloo removable lockbox for our short term rental home, which offered an integration to AirBnb that allowed automations and made hosting a breeze. Because we didnāt like being dependent upon old school keys, we decided to upgrade a keyless digital deadbolt and chose this one based upon an advertised integration with Airbnb. The keypad is well made, good looking and functions well, and the app works great. Only problem is that the platform integration for which we bought it isnāt actually available to yet, so all of our guest automations have reverted back to manual processes, which is a bummer. Would love to Schlage to have multiple hosting and property management integrations available like igloo does.
Looks Great and Instalks Easy. Features I wish it had was the numbers to light up blue do they are more easy seen at night. Maybe press Schlage and the numbers would light up, would make this product better. Previous to this install we had a deadbolt and a 2nd doorknob, both with the same key. Loweās said not iffered by Schlage. Instead we installed the Sckage Front Entry Handle Greenwich model. I would have loved my Car Plymouth Style Deadbolt to be the same as my Greenwich style entry handle, but they are close enough to look like they match.
First, weāve had these locks, front and back doors, for probably 5 year so admittedly, I should have said something a long time ago. My bad! These Schlage keyless locks were professionally installed by the local door company at the same time our new doors were installed so Iām pretty sure they were installed correctly. The issue is, and has been from day 1, locking or unlocking using the keypad is a an incredible test of patience. Push the button, enter the code, hear the click, and the handle just spins. Over and over until finally it works. Iāve lubricated the deadbolt, first with spray silicone months later with Vaseline, thinking that the bolt is dragging against the door jam; same issue. Using the key produces the very same results! So, after being as patient for as long as I have, these Schlage keyless locks are going in the bin. I like the concept but not the design of the internal mechanism! Today, I am going to buy a competitorās keyless locks hoping for a better outcome!
I've installed a few dozen of these on residential homes and in employee housing settings with much more traffic where several roommates come and go all day and night working different shifts. This is a simple, robust easy to install and easy to operate unit. If you don't require internet capability to monitor lock and change codes than this will serve you well. Since you manually turn the knob to engage and disengage the bolt battery life is much better than the motorized bolt models. Plus, it forces the operator to know for sure they actually locked the door where as with the motorized units if the door is not square, weatherstrip causes misalignment, or wood swells with humidity and the bolt repeatedly hits the door frame they will default back to unlocked and ...Ā MoreI've installed a few dozen of these on residential homes and in employee housing settings with much more traffic where several roommates come and go all day and night working different shifts. This is a simple, robust easy to install and easy to operate unit. Basically "operator error/laziness".For these reasons I use this product as much as possible if customer just wants a basic key pad lock.
