The eVAC Dry Sack has a waterproof, air permeable eVENT fabric on the base for valve-free air expelling, allowing for compact packing. Instead of straps for compression, you just roll the sack down and air is pushed out of the base. Then close the buckle and you've just saved space and weight. The sack is oval-shaped, rather than round so it resists rolling when laid on its side and fits better into your pack. Suitable to keep contents dry in any wet situation where the bag is not submerged.

I love this dry sack. Not a fan of the trash bag liner disorder, so I use combo of dry sacks and mylar zip bags (light, odor blocking). I use a 20 L for sleeping bag, liner, down coat, and sleep clothes if using. Push air out and use as a pancake layer in bag. Will hold/further compress with weight of other layers, but also conforms to shapes of backpack better. Prefer moldable layers to compressed cylinders where possible. Picking up 13L for clothes or when using lighter sleep setup, but still wide enough to fill a thin layer in bag.

eVac Dry Sack fits perfectly into my Blaze 60 backpack as a pack liner. All my gear is in Dyneema dry bags and then placed into the eVac Dry Sack. This gives me double protection. The eVac Dry sack is great because you can fill it up and compress the air out through the bottom of the bag and then close it like a normal dry sacks with the plastic buckle. The buckle looks sturdy and the re-enforced top edge of the bag makes it easy to roll down and snap close. The bag weighs 131g due to the re-enforce top edge and the plastic buckle. Highly recommend it for the price, craftsmanship, and ease of use.

Overall, this is a great sack for my needs: roomy and light, I needed a dry sack to use inside of another, larger pack that I use while paddling. The white interior makes finding stuff easier and the ability to just roll the top down to expel excess air speeds up packing over standard polyurethane sacks. My only issue is that the 5/8" plastic band around the closure itself "feels" small and thin; perhaps flimsy. I'm sure that it's quite adequate, but it lacks the beefy feel that I'm used to.

Love the evac line of dry bags. Really easy to compress bags contents because of the evac material. After packed, air will come back in through evac material after a few minutes but it's not a big deal. Never had an evac bag leak. Would highly recommend this.
I have a selection of these Dry bags, As a UK hiker, its wet, humid and damp. So protecting my sleep system is everything. I bundle my sleep system into one of these bags, and the eVac material allows the excess air to escape, when closed. This allows me to push it kit into all corners of my Backpack using all the space, getting that perfect shape and load.
I have approximately 12 of these in the 8L size, some gray but most blue. I am OCD about organization. I use these to hold a single change of clothes, then when I change I put the dirty clothes back inthe bag. I have little ribbon clips that I then clip onto the bags with dirty clothes. When I need a change I just grab a bag without a ribbon. Because of the event bottom you can compress most of the air out of these bags allowing for more compact packing or to get you stuff back into your bag. I've used my system and these bags on business trips, local camping, and extended foreign camping and travel. If moosejaw allowed the posting of pictures for reviews I could post (before - stuff laid out, after putting in these bags, and after everything in the duffel) how I ... MoreI have approximately 12 of these in the 8L size, some gray but most blue. I divide my loose backpack contents into three categories: food, clothes and accessory items (hygiene, tools, first aid etc.). Spare Clothes can NOT get wet. This waterproof Evac sack crunches dry clothes down nicely, eliminating trapped air. I got rid of individual gallon freezer bags as failsafe for dry clothes. This saves room and keeps water out. I like the idea. A little expensive, but I don’t want to be caught out on a cold night without dry clothes, ever!
Better than the compression bags for your down sleep bag or quilt. Keeps dry, and can squish in your pack to fill any void, instead of being formed into a hard ball. Also built as a flatter oval instead of round base, so fits very well horixontally in a pack, expecially the 8L size at the bottom, with other gear flattening it down.
If you are getting a dry sack with the intents on compressing the contents, this is the bag to get. With other dry sacks, you have to try to compress the contents first. Then try to quickly roll down the sack, before the air gets back in.This sack lets you throw your stuff in it. Then roll the bag down and compress as you go. The eVAC slowly lets the air out. So you don't have to deal with a ballon in your pack. Saving space. So, if you intend on comressing your stuff, I'd pay the extra $$ for this sack.
I purchased the 13L and the 20L Sea to Summit eVAC Dry Sack for backpacking. I use the 13L for clothing and the 20L for my sleeping bag. The evac feature is perfect for space preservation when space is a valuable and limited commodity. Great quality made stuff sacs. When the air is pushed out, it practically vacuum seals my clothing and sleeping bag. I would definitely recommend this purchase. Makes a great quality gift.
