Bug Proof Outdoor Sleeping Sea to summit have designed this mosquito head net to allow the user to effectively travel through mosquito and bug prone areas, keeping your head and neck area safe. This can be particularly useful in swampy parts of a hike or close to areas that are inundated with sandflies. Even whilst sitting at camp it can provide a welcome relief. The colour of the netting allows for outward visibility so you are able to see the sights. The length is built so that it can tuck under your collar and ensure a tight fit that is further supported by a draw cord. The net can be used with or without a hat and comes in it's own tiny stuff sack so when needed can easily be packed away. Use Ideal for trekking, traveling and wilderness camping, these shelters provide essential protection against mosquitoes and other bugs. The asymmetric shape means the apex of the pyramid is closer to the head end for more usable headroom. An overlapping flap at the base makes it easy to achieve a bug proof seal against a floor or mattress. Coloured tapes at each corner and a single suspension point ensure easy set up.

This is the worst net ever, waste of money. Not even enough room for one person. This net only works if you want to protect your face. I would give zero stars it that was an option what a waste of money. I bought the pop up nets for my other family member and they work great.

This is a great product, in the right conditions i.e. no rain in the forecast and lots of trees to hang it from. I needed an ultralight bug shelter for a very remote summer forest hiking trip, on the cheap.I used 4 stakes from another tent to stake down the Sea to Summit Mosquito Pyramid Insect Shield Net, as stakes do not come with it. When staked down tightly and hanging the top from a branch, it looks just like the images as advertised and the sides will not droop. I have included some of my own as well. The system to hang it did not come with instruction, but I saw a video online, but surmise it would be easy to figure out on your own. Be sure to tightly seal/close the Velcro end that the top pole slides into. Be sure to tightly seal/close the Velcro end that the top pole slides into. I did not do this at first and it made the sides narrower as the pole slid out ( I worry that this might wear over time as it is a very small piece of Velcro, but Sea to Summit does tend to make high quality products so I will assume the best for now. )I used a rei quarter dome 3 footprint that I snagged at a garage sale for the floor. I was able to stake the footprint down using the current 4 stakes. I was so surprised thinking additional stakes would be needed but this footprint matched so perfectly even at the staking points. I then tucked the net that is on the floor under the footprint to get an almost perfect seal around the entire perimeter keeping the crawling bugs out. I think a perfect seal is possible the next time I set it up, this was my first attempt and it was crazy windy.Getting in and out of the net tent despite there not being a door is not a problem, I just reached my hand under the netting and gently unhooked the stake loop from the stake (in other words the net tent is held down at only three points upon exit and entry. I testing getting in and out several times and it is not a problem as it is very easy to hook and unhook the loop from the stake (I kept the stake I wanted to use for this purpose sticking about an inch above the ground, this could pose a problem if the ground conditions warrant the stake being all the way in). Using the stakes closest to the hightest point (where the tree branch is holding the tent from above) is best, so you don’t have to bend down very much to get in and out.I used the double size net and think that’s perfect for one person, the single would be too cramped for me and the gear I’m trying to keep bug free.

Florida offer 4 seasons and they all end in summer. But duriing the actual summer there are diehards like myself that have found a way to make it more tolerable. They dont make tents specifically for our climate, especially from the amount of rainfall we get. So we converted to tarp camping. It keeps us shaded and dry, but not mosquito proof. Thats where this product saves the day. Tents dont offer adequate airflow so this no seum mesh is perfect and sprayed with permethren, you're now bugproof offering a win in an unforgiving environment. Dont forget your fan!

Easy to set up and use. Because fighting with mosquitoes all day is bad enough without struggling to set this net up. Keeps the insects away from your cot, sleeping bag, bivy or whatever.

Looks goodness

I haven't used it yet I will once I'm in S.E Asia, but it looks way nicer than the usual white nets out there, should match my silky black sleeping bag nicely. And it comes with light weight poles. I would have given it 5 stars but I only opened the small carrying bag it's in and looked inside otherwise it may be worth 5 stars.

Needs a better design
13 June 2018

The net is light and compact, that parts great, its also easy to set up sure, however i have only used it once and managed to tear it. As you can see from the products picture the net is pinned down on all four corners at the base and there is no entry point (Zipper) ao you have to wriggle underneath after its been pegged to get down on your knees and then crouch ao that your face is at ground level is really not enough , consequently i tore the net at the corner. Yes , i did try pegging it from inside but the loop is on the exterior of the corner and its difficult to exert pressure on the peg while you're lying down inside and reaching around etc. S2S need to incorporate a zipper don the side of the net.

Nice and Simple
7 July 2023

We got this for our daughter to be able ot spend a bit more time out on the back deck reading in the evenings and it's worked perfectly. It's so simple to set up and covers a large enough area for her to be able to stretch out and switch positions wihtout getting caught up in the mesh. It's light enough to throw in a backpacking pack and carry to a campsite for some added protection if needed. A solid purchase.

Small, but works
3 September 2017

My partner and I used this on a three day backpacking trip and found it a bit tight to fit two people. We know that in tent sizing, two is one and three is usually two, so we weren't shocked at the size. That said, it would probably be bigger if we could hang it higher up (ours was hung about 4' high) but our sleep system didn't allow for that. If the net was hung from a point between 5 and 6 feet above the ground, it may work better.Would recommend!Overall, it is rather light and stuffs down small so it is easy to throw in our kit. Maybe we could find better ways to pitch it, but we found it hard to get a comfortable space under the net. For anything other than sleeping, this net isn't ideal.

So far, so good...

I purchased the Double-wide net, made for two. The first thing that caught my eye is the compact size, about the size of the oil filter on my truck. Can easily clip onto the outside of my pack without any worries. Comes with a compression sack, nice. Inside the compression sack is the net that pulls out very easily, doesn't snag on the inside of the bag at all. Also inside the sack, it a small pocket sewn into the side for the small shock pole. Clever design. Nothing else to assemble. Slide the shock pole into the top of the netting, then hang it up. There is rope already attached to the netting for hanging this, and the rope is adjustable! Another plus. Grab each corner, pull them out a bit and keep them in place with some small tent spikes (not included). Now ... MoreI purchased the Double-wide net, made for two. Now you're done, unless you're me and want to still place your 5x7' tarp down, prior to placing your pad and then bag.The only draw back I had on this is the top of the tent, where you install the shock cord has a small amount of velcro on it. This velcro is designed to hold the shock pole in place when it's installed, but mine is a bit too tight. When I removed the pole for the first time, the plastic tip of the pole would not come out with ease. I have a system to remove it now, very easily, but the first time will catch you off guard, so set it up once or twice in your house prior to wondering out into the field. When set up, the net measures 5'6"wide x 7'10" long x 4'3" tall, so it's not made to set up and party in all night, but it does allow you to sit up in bed and read a little. Matter of fact, there's enough room for two adults to sleep length-wise, and a child to sleep width-wise comfortably. And being all mesh, no worries of condensation by morning...

very nice balance between light and too much. some gear is made with a bunch of bells and whistles, but ends up being to complicated and heavy. This item is more to the light side. A pretty good balance between too much and not enough. Price was also quite reasonable.thanks Sea to Summit! great work.
