It does what it promises to do. It isn't a miracle; it won't condense two weeks of clothing into the space of a shoe box. But it did enable me to fit into a 20" suitcase enough outfits (business and casual) and three pairs of shoes for a 25 day trip to Europe. Two small loads of laundry got me through the trip.

Ordered a medium (about 9 litres) to hold my summer down bag which originally has the same size stuff sack, but now easily compresses down to half size. For my summer backpacking and motorcycling camping kit, I find three of the medium bags work well: one for sleeping bag and liner, one for regular clothes, and one for warm gear like puffy jacket, toque, etc. Meant to order a three Ultra-Sils as shown above but accidentally ordered ordered a variant which is slightly heavier and made with a stiffer, waterproof fabric. Still a good, lightweight compression bag. Strap/lid system identical on both types and easy to use.

Really happy with my 20 Liter compression sack. I use it for travel packing.It compressed my clothes with minimal effort and minimal wrinkled garments. Very easy to use and sturdy. I definitely recommend this and my brother-in-law bought two based on my suggestion!See my 'before' and 'after' pictures!!

Super sturdy and a surprisingly comfortable fit. Often these small packable bags feel terrible once you put them on but not this one. I wouldn't mind if it had a chest strap or a tiny pocket somewhere but I understand leaving these things off to make it an ideal weight for adding to your backpacking gear. Very well made and a good buy!
I used this sack for two weeks in 2022 and it works great. A compression sack needs strong, slippery fabric and very strong stitching and straps. This sack has it. It compresses my 0C degree synthetic bag down to a little smaller than a soccer ball. It compresses my -10C down OGC quilt even smaller. I have a similar sized OR compression sack and this one works just as well.
Disclaimer: I have not used the Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil (STS) size large compression sack as of 8/15/23. However, this review compares the STS sack to the discontinued Outdoor Research (OR) Ultra-Light or Helium Compression Sack which I have used. Personally, I prefer the OR sack because it was both larger (35L) compared to the STS (30L) size large that I bought (although 35L is available) and used a heavier sil-nylon (70D versus 30D). Further, the OR sack had a built-in storage/travel pouch that is cool! On the downside, the OR sack is a little heavier 7.04 oz versus 3.3 oz. Additionally, both the OR and the STS sacks are not seem sealed; thus are only water resistant and not water proof. This compression sack is more than adequate for my needs! When I went on a three-day hiking trip in chilly weather, I had to pack more stuff than I could have possibly carried. When I purchased this compression sack, I thought I would use it to stuff my down underquilt into my pack so that more room would be available for the gear. To my surprise, the sack worked incredibly well to contain and compress my underquilt, keeping it dry during the two days of rain I had! With my other hammocking gear and clothes, I will most definitely be buying more of these compression sacks!
I purchased one of each of these packs for my daughter and son in law for Christmas because they are frequent travelers who like to contain their luggage to carry ons and a backpack each, especially when traveling internationally. They also go skiing a couple times a year and on that trip they have to pack very bulky jackets, ski pants, sweaters and lots of layers of clothes. They have not traveled with them yet, but they did do an experiment with stuffing one of them and they were amazed at what they were able to pack and how small they were to shrink the sack down to! They can't wait to use them next month for a ski trip. I have now decided to buy one for myself.
