I bought this for my 95 year old dad who was in declining health. His vision had become bad and he could easily see the numbers on the face. He liked the strap band too. He wore it every day for about 6 months. It is a great quality watch that looked nice and was a great value!

I had questions before and after purchasing, and they were promptly and thoroughly answered.After a few weeks of daily wear, it's running 15-20sec slow, which is annoying but not yet out of spec for the 4R36 movement.The blacked-out coating, orange graphics, layout and syringe hands is a striking combination: discreet at a distance, but with a pop of colour and style up close. At 38mm case diameter, this is true to form for a military field watch, and I wasn't looking for a dinner plate or a flight deck instrument on my wrist. The gray on black for the 12hr scale is useless, but I knew that from the website photos before I bought the watch!The strap looked like a perfect match while wearing it in a food service job: orange leather against the skin, with a nylon exterior for some splash and abrasion resistance . What could go wrong?That strap is VERY stiff and NOT ideal for big wrists. I have an 8-inch/20-cm wrist give or take. With the small case size, the lug-to-lug doesn't span the width of my wrist. The strap sticks out straight like two planks of wood, and it doesn't start bending until the pin buckle holes. Either I wear it loose letting the watch flop about my wrist, or the strap becomes a tourniquet with one pin hole tighter.No good.I substituted some aftermarket silicone straps: black to match the case and an orange one to contrast against the case. After searching the Interwebs to confirm, the lug width is 20mm. NATO, leather, silicone and others should work infinitely better with this watch than the original strap. If you have the tool (and I suggest you get one), the drilled lugs make changes quick and easy.
I love the watch,it’s a present for my sons birthday in October,I know it’s a long while off but I bought it while they were available.My son loves anything which is associated with Japanese history and so I am sure he will love this watch.The only thing I would like to add is I thought it would have had some paperwork with the writing of the background of the watch included in the box.
Beautiful Seiko Prospex King Samurai Shu-Iro Limited Edition. I love the dial colour, texture, lume filled indices and hands and crisp bezel movement! Lots os bracelet adjustment possible and ships with a great Seiko rubber strap. The presentation box is also nice. Super fast delivery also from First Class Watches!

Good watch, comfortable to wear and very easy to read at a glance with the orange over black.But, very, very disappointed with its luminosity in the dark.It goes from barely readable to nothing.I bought this watch as I have poor eyesight to say I'm disappointed is an under statement.
I've wanted another Seiko for my daily-wearer for a while, and for the price and quality, you can't go wrong with any Seiko 5. I've already got Divers so wanted something different, and this Aviator style is just it. Not too chunky or heavy (but still has the weight of a quality mechanical watch), the dimensions are perfectly sized. And this version being black PVD coated with a striking and unusual Black/Orange dial & strap makes it stand out from the other usual Aviators. Easily legible in day or night and the lume is great. Plus because of my rubbish memory, the day/date function is so handy. Overall, I liked the look of it when I saw it, but now I've got it, I like it even more.
