My first noise canceling pair. Having used Beats and Sony in the past its always scary to change brand once you find a sound that suits you. Going from noise isolating to noise canceling is also a step some can only make once a good deal comes around. Setting up these buds with Samsung, iPhone, and a car BT (AirFly)transmitter was easy, and connection held without dropping off or disconnecting (tested to 20 meters and wooden walls). No Sennheiser account needed for just the pairing and use of noise cancelling functions. One issue with a setting (transparent listening) that I did not like and kept being turned on resolved itself after an easy-to-follow firmware upgrade, done though the android app. The plastic charging box (holder) fits easy in pocket, is not too big ... MoreMy first noise canceling pair. One issue with a setting (transparent listening) that I did not like and kept being turned on resolved itself after an easy-to-follow firmware upgrade, done though the android app. The plastic charging box (holder) fits easy in pocket, is not too big and fits the bud's firm and snug. If any improvement the lid of the box feels a little lose, something you look at once you spend this much money and want to protect your investment. The sound quality is great. after listening to bass-heavy Sony and midrange heavy Beats, these are not sounding too different. Once setup with the Android app, the sound even improved by turning on the bass-boost and adjusting through the easy-to-follow personal ear (sound) check. (For personal ear check a Sennheiser account is needed, free, easy to setup and easy to opt-out of spam mail) Noise canceling is new to me so can't comment on the quality of it compared to others, but it sure is a nice feature while traveling in car and plane a lot. Wonderfully comfortable weight and rubber seals. on Beats I always had the smaller seals, but on these the medium ones fitted perfect. So good they charge with USB-C, and so far, (1 week use) the charge hold, time and duration are all looking great. Buds last every trip I make and charge fast in the charging box. The input is though little touch pads on the back of the buds, these are not too sensitive, but did need some time to get used to. I like a quality lasting product but I'm not an audiophile, these are sure not your cheap 40$ buds, and give a sound feeling as good or better than the Beats (not noise canceling) I had.

Wearing them makes it look like two small bottle lids on each ear, but I'm just nitpicking on this bit. Putting them in felt comfortable at first, they felt snug to where I could move my head side to side and they wouldn't come out. However, using over a long period of time was a bit painful on the ears. The buds also have touch controls on each ear bud as well as proximity sensors. I could take one earbud out and whatever I'm listening to or playing would stop. There's a bit of delay for the earbuds. An example would be where at the start of a video the sound would come a few seconds after the video began which was annoying. Another thing would be that when listening to music one earbud would cutout then can come back on which was another grievance I have.Features - The earbuds have a transparency mode where I could stop the noise cancelling mode and allow the outside noise in. Sounded clean and natural to a point as I could hear a bit of hissing in the background, it's passable if you overlook it. Pairing is easy, just hold both touch pads for 3 seconds and they should appear for connection on the device. They don't have multi-pairing where you can listen to two devices at the same time, you'll have to pair each device separately. There is an app you can download (smart control) that helps make the earbuds experience a bit better. Using the app I could customize what I wanted the touch controls to do such as one tap for stop/play, two taps to skip a song, adjust the volume etc. You can also turn off the anc however you can do that by touch control. Also customizing the sound such as wanting more bass or more treble on the equalizer was a good feature on it as well.Price - The price I will say is a bit too much. I managed to get these on special which was a steal in my opinion. I wouldn't get these full price. If you're looking for good earbuds on the lower price range that still have the capability of earbuds such as the sony wf-1000xm4, I'd say these are it when on special.Battery life-On a full charge they lasted about 6-8 hours which was fantastic. If they did get low on life, putting them back in the case I managed to get about 1 and half charges of refills. The charging case is bulky which makes it feel odd because it protrudes when in my pocket. Also there's no wireless charging, the case has a Type C USB port on the back for charging. Conclusion -The earbuds are pretty well rounded. Getting them when on discount makes them perfect earbuds on the lower range of the wireless earbuds market. Audio quality is great, ANC works wonderfully and battery life is fantastic. Would recommend them to people.

4.25 stars and a very good value for the price. If you're on the fence I don't think you can go wrong with these. Right out of the box, these are very good ear buds. The sound is warm, resonant, and fulfilling. I was content with the quality of sound straight away but you do have the ability adjust the EQ to suit your tastes or the nuisances of the music you are listening too. The overall volume is very loud but not over the top for those who like their music very loud or if you have hearing difficulties. I never once maxed out the volume listening to a variety of types and genres of music. Battery life was very good and consistent with other wireless ear buds that I own. Neither better nor worse. The charging case is standard and does have a small led light to indicate it is working correctly. The only real drawback is how sensitive the touch controls are. Normally I wouldn't complain as we all want controls that are response but due to the small size of the earbuds and the sensitivity, it is easy to mis-tap or tap too many times. I did get better at controlling them the longer I used them but this stage they are still a little too sensitive for my taste but I'd much rather this than not sensitive enough. Overall I would recommend these and I look forward to continuing to explore their quality with different types of music. Thank you Sennheiser.

Disappointing
29 December 2021

I've bought a lot of Sennheiser earbuds over the last 20 years, and these are probably the most disappointing.Pros: The audio quality is clean and crisp, as I would expect from this brand, the battery life is decent, and you get a lot of customization options in the app.Cons: not comfortable - there's something about the shape that just doesn't sit right in my ear. "Transparent Hearing" mode just adds a background tape hiss, I can't hear my surroundings any better with it turned on. On the flip side their "Active Noise Cancellation" seems to have no effect on reducing noise either; maybe it was designed with airplane noise in mind (which I haven't had the opportunity to test), but it doesn't block out any normal sounds. Sennheiser fans would be better off going with the CX True Wireless buds, which have essentially the same specs but no ANC and are about $50 cheaper. Pay for what they do well and don't pay for useless and poorly implemented features.

Not my favourite Sennheisers :(
15 September 2022

I am usually a huge fan or Sennheiser products, but I am really struggling with these earbuds. I am finding the fit uncomfortable, and that they regularly fall out with minimal movement, even after I've tried all 3 earbud cover fits for size. I find the size of the earbuds just that too big so that with any movement, even shuffling in a chair and walking, that the weight sways towards the outside and the buds fall out regularly. I'm an active person but not able to wear these running or cycling, and struggle to wear them walking, and besides the fit, I don't find them comfortable to wear. The sound quality and noise cancelling is great, and the touch sensors work really effectively, very sensitive! Not my favourite Sennheiser headphones and am not really able to ... MoreI am usually a huge fan or Sennheiser products, but I am really struggling with these earbuds. I will try with memory foam earbuds to see if make more comfortable and less likely to fall out, but feel a bit put out that in order to wear them properly a further purchase is needed. I wouldn't recommend, sorry! Usually love their headphones but these are not for me.

Stylish, high quality and great battery

I have been using the Sennheiser CX Plus True Headphones for the past month and have used them in a multitude of situations. On public transport, while cycling and while walking through the city.In all three situations the battery life is great. I never had an issue on a day where I had worn them too long after each other. By the time I wanted to use them again the bank had already charged them sufficiently again. This makes them great for long commutes.Another feature I really enjoyed was the noise cancelling on public transport. This means you can fully enjoy your podcast or music while travelling. With one easy click this can be turned off so that you can catch the announcement being made or the gossip of the passengers behind you. However that talk-through function doesn't lend itself well to use outside. The active noise cancelling gave me anxiety when I used it outside, as I lost a lot of traffic noises that you can use in regards to your own safety. However the talk-through mode was mainly amplifying the sound of the wind in my ears rather then offering me spatial awareness. That being said this is a great product I would recommend to anyone.

Sennheiser CX Plus In- Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones are superb!! First of all, they are very comfortable inside my ears and come with various earbuds to choose from so I can get the perfect fit. The battery life is phenomenal my air pods die after 4hrs these last at least 9hrs probably more. The tap and play/answer calls function is brilliant. The noise cancellation is top of the line and works extremely well I couldn't be happier with these headphones. Also If you have these and haven't downloaded the APP that goes with them you are missing out! the app really brings these headphones to life and allows detailed customizations that I have never seen before on a set of headphones there are presets too for the customized settings and switching between them is easy and effortless. BUY THESE you will not be disappointed they are amazing.

The best in the budget
26 May 2022

First of all, I have been an audiophile since my early college days, buying the best thing I could in my budget, be it boAt in the beginning, then RHA, JBL, getting Skullcandy Hesh ANC for a freelance project and finally, Sennheiser.I got these because my friend's Sennheiser CX 180 sounded the closest to my previous RHA, with the RHA being around almost 6x the price of the former.I got these instead of JBL, Sony and even the AirPods in the range simply because of the sound quality.I work in a corporate office which gets extremely noisy during the day and my work consists of hours of deliberation, strategizing and building ML Models. I am able to focus so much better, thanks to the ANC.More so, I listen to a lot of music and these make the perfect companion. ... MoreFirst of all, I have been an audiophile since my early college days, buying the best thing I could in my budget, be it boAt in the beginning, then RHA, JBL, getting Skullcandy Hesh ANC for a freelance project and finally, Sennheiser.I got these because my friend's Sennheiser CX 180 sounded the closest to my previous RHA, with the RHA being around almost 6x the price of the former.I got these instead of JBL, Sony and even the AirPods in the range simply because of the sound quality.I work in a corporate office which gets extremely noisy during the day and my work consists of hours of deliberation, strategizing and building ML Models. Crisp sounds, good mids, treble and even bass.Would recommend this 10/10 to anyone looking for earbuds in this range.Literally blows all the competition out of the park in terms of sound quality, even though it might be lacking a bit in style, it's still really comfortable (I wear them for around 8 hours a day).

Well Done Sennheiser
8 November 2021

Well done Sennheiser. Let me start off by saying these are my new favorite compact wireless earbuds. I'd like to give them 4.5 stars but it is 4 or 5 and they aren't quite perfect so 4 starts it is. The exterior packaging and charging case are pretty routine. Nothing bad but nothing to write home about. The magnetic charging dock is strong and hold on to the earbuds well. The earbuds are overall quite small yet fit in my ears great right out of the box. My only real complaint with the size and design is that it is difficult to move the earbuds around for initial placement and if you've been wearing them for a while without touching the controls because of the size and sensitivity of the touch controls. Having said that, the upside is that the controls are sensitive, ... MoreWell done Sennheiser. Let me start off by saying these are my new favorite compact wireless earbuds. My only real complaint with the size and design is that it is difficult to move the earbuds around for initial placement and if you've been wearing them for a while without touching the controls because of the size and sensitivity of the touch controls. Having said that, the upside is that the controls are sensitive, even with wet or bigger fingers and as such you won't have trouble adjusting your listening experience. The sound out of the box is what I would describe as warm, surroundish, and very good without any adjustments. The more I listened to them to the more I liked the somewhat opera like sound. The overall volume was very good but not over the top should you have hearing difficulties. The one downside to a solid pair of earbuds like this is that they do magnify poor quality audio delivered to them. When listening to music on video sites I found the hum f the poor quality auto resonating. When listening to lossless or near lossless quality music the sound was as good as anything else I've listened to from earbuds. Overall I would buy them again and again.

very good quality
17 September 2022

I thought I would get the best and not spend more than 150$, so I bought them. I received them in about 5 or 6 days, and as soon as I got them out of the box, I plugged them in to charge. while waiting for them to be 100%, I went looking for my smart phone to get them hooked up. I plugged in some music from Uriah Heep, and then put them in my ears, and hola, the sound came through and I was enjoying every beat they offered, I had no problems with sound or bass, Volume was very good, and the bass and mid tones came through pretty good. I walked around the house with them on and became very comfortable with them. The ear plugs fit just right for my ears, so I did not change them out. The little charger and case remind me of my saddle bags on my bike. I love the ... MoreI thought I would get the best and not spend more than 150$, so I bought them.
