I'm a musician and use these primarily for practice and rehearsal. They are very comfortable and with the open backs I can work with them on all day with little fatigue. I love my in-ears but they are tuned more for stage and can become uncomfortable after a bit - so these headphones really compliment my options well.

Saw a detailed video on YouTube that showed, with graphs, how good these phones are. The price was great so I went for them, after months of researching for new phones. These are not "consumer" grade phones; meaning they have not been tuned to enhance any frequencies. They are meant to be reference headphones for studio use. They are quite flat, neutral, even quite dry-sounding headphones that are detail, detail, detail oriented for hearing things in a mix. For that, they exceeded my expectations at this price point. They are very natural sounding; treating lows, mids and highs equally well, for open back phones. At 200 ohms you may need extra power through a dedicated amp to get the drivers to peak output. I needed a new pair of phones to do critical listening to mixes of recording files and these meet that need for me. The straight cable, which I prefer (not a fan of coiled cables) is shorter than other phones I have but, I am not moving around with them so, they work fine for me. The coiled cable would give a little more latitude with them, though. A bag or case would have been nice but, they have kept the price down without offering a presentation-type box or traveling case. I'm not going anywhere with them so, works for me. I'm very happy with them.

I use them for practice monitors as well as recording and mixing monitors and they are best bang for the buck that Sennheiser has to offer. Hello,I bought this headphone to substitute my old, but in still good state, HD 598, which I bought in 2012.The main reason for buying is as monitor in my audio interface, by using it together with my guitar and amp simulation.It's neutral frequency response, comparing to the old one, helps with that, and I'm very satisfied with the results.The feel and build is also Sennheiser's.
I bought this headphone for musical Zoom sessions in which I play my musical instrument along with the leader of the session. I wanted a comfortable headphone with accurate, natural sound, that is also open-backed so that I can hear my own instrument clearly. This headphone is wonderful for this use.I also want to respond to another reviewer who claimed this headphone is not loud enough. That is not true. This headphone can play very loudly. In the Instruction Manual, there is even a warning about "the high sound pressure levels attainable" with this headphone.
Excellent phones. Bought the HD 400 pros for mixing and mastering and they do not disappoint. Comfortable to wear for long sessions, neutral uncoloured sound and able to be driven even from my mobile phone. A good price and fast free delivery from Scan. Very impressed.
I am using this since a month now and I am very happy with it .Transparent and linear . Flat response I prefer use it with out an eq I think the sound is more clear without any eq. Don't just boots the bass to much because they don't generate naturally lot of base. Over all good product for the priceComfortable can plug it directly in my MacBook Pro M1 2021 with no problem.
Good sound detail for my Cubase mixes.Comfortable fit on head for longer mixing sessions. I am really enjoying using these headphones.
For the price, I was amazed at how low the db output is with these headphones, they're awesome...fit and sound great, but I had my volume all the way and still looking for that extra boost. Returned and got the model just below these that sound better, louder, and $50 less... seriously don't know why they would design these like this.
It was time for a new pair of headphones, and I was looking for something affordable and comfortable. The Sennheiser 400 PRO Studio Reference Headphones are a great tool. These fit over my entire ear(great since I am suseptible to blackheads and sweat behind my ears) and are comfortable while working for extended periods. I am working on the final mixes of my most recent album, and these are helping me to accurately judge the balance and EQing of my songs even while working at modest volumns.
