With support for Bluetooth 5.2 and the aptX Adaptive codec from compatible source devices, you can hear every detail in your music and customize it with your choice of preset. Amazing Sound quality & new features, but few bugs and hardware quality issues

It seems the earbuds are extremely sensitive to any kind of dust/moisture/oils; you need to thoroughly dry charging points before placing the earbuds back in the case.- The earbuds don't feel like the same premium quality as the TW2s did (my personal opinion). The TW3s are almost entirely plastic.- They feel a bit strange in the ear. I feel the need to consistently readjust them in my ears; it feels like the earbuds do not make a perfect seal around the ears like the TW2s did.- Not an TW3 issue, but Sennheiser customer service is not reliable. It took me 2 days to find a way to contact them (through email) and they did not respond to my message until 2 weeks later and provided outdated RMA links that did not work.My review is critical, but I rank these 4 out of 5 despite all the issues because I buy Sennheiser products for the sound quality. I feel the sound quality and feature upgrades (particularly the latency fix) are a clear up from the TW2s. Sennheiser needs to work out the bugs but these are definitely a step in the right direction.

Beautiful sound, ruined by terrible software.

The Sennheiser momentum 3 buds have an amazing sound profile, but unfortunately that's where it stops. The software is complete trash to the point where you have to argue with yourself whether you want to connect them to a new device or not. It is such a hassle. They constantly drop connection, and if you want to switch to another device, you can't choose the earbuds from the Bluetooth settings section in your device, you actually have to use the app to switch the device or turn off the Bluetooth on your current device and connect on the new device. As you can tell, it is a complete hassle. Although this may not be a deal breaker for some people, it definitely is for me. I cannot stand talking and having my voice be muffled and not being able to hear myself clearly. In a world where Zoom and remote work is part of our everyday norm, it's annoying having to hear a muffled version of your voice while you're speaking. Avoid these earbuds as much as possible unless you're a fan of constantly having to tweak the software settings just so you can experience the beautiful sound that these earbuds produce.

In this case, the bass is pushed too hard imo, so you need to make eq adjustments there and also low to mid especially need to come down a lot to get more of an accurate representation. Not every genre sounds amazing through them, very complex music with competing frequencies in the mids dont translate as well (such as some K/Jpop tracks) but thats mostly how well the track's mixed. I haven't listened to classical or Jazz through them but given the stereo image, it should be good for that too. Some are saying extreme low end's a little muddy but I disagree, its about right. Also your ears can get a bit itchy if they've been in there for a while. They fit snug and pop in quickly without screwing them in. Pairing is immediate. Honestly it's pretty hard to fault them unless you're a pathologically picky people. Trust me, I work with sound everyday and they're quite good, I'm just used to a flatter (boring) sound but for the mass market of consumers who wanna hear clear, punchy, wide music they're close to perfect, especially if the song's well mixed.

Great quality, not seamless
21 May 2023

Got these for my IPhone 14 pro about 2 months ago. Waited to write this review to be able to paint a true picture. Starting with:+ The positives: great music quality, will not disappoint for a pair of in-ear buds. Great build quality, the case and the buds are very sturdy, the magnets hold on to the buds for deal life and never let go, haven't had problems with the size of the earbuds so far and the fit pretty good in my ears (had to replace the one for my left ear with a larger size though). Have been wearing them during workouts, studying, working etc,. I am pleased with the noise cancelling, It's not perfect but is does what it's supposed to. Have been wearing them during workouts, studying, working etc,. I am pleased with the noise cancelling, It's not perfect but is does what it's supposed to. Touch controls are sensitive enough and over all my experience with these buds have been really good. There is are some drawbacks though that I should mention. Before that, I should mention I have updated these buds/all my devices to the latest version.- The negative:Based on my experience with these pair of earbuds, with an IPhone 14 pro, a gaming laptop (Windows 11) and a Linux (Ubuntu 22), there are some connection issues. Throughout the last ~60 days, there have been more than 10 times when I had to take the buds out and put in my ear, hear ''connected" and play audio just to realize it's not playing. Putting the buds back into their case and redoing the process has worked every time. They have multi-point connectivity, meaning you can connect to 2 devices at the same time. But my experience with this has been far from seamless. Sometimes I'm listening to sth on my phone, and the music suddenly stops for no reason. And more importantly, any signal from the pc overrides the current stream from the phone, meaning the music stops if I get an email notification on my pc. Muting the pc doesn't help either. There have been more than 10 times where I had to put the buds back in their case and take them out just to connect to to 2 devices because it didn't connect to the 2nd device. Now I only connect to both devices if most of my work is on the pc.One last issue with these is that, whenever I send a voice/video message, I hear "call ended" at the end of it. This is quite bothersome for me because I tend to send lots of voice messages, but I have to hear the lady say "call ended" at the end of any kind of voice recording.

INSTALL APP BEFORE BUYING / Terrible Battery Life

This is my third sennhesier product. My first was the greatest thing ever, my second was nice packaging and presentation but the actual sound quality was disappointing, this one is a complete nightmare. You cannot use the product as advertised unless you can install the app on the device you are using it on. Can you do that? Go to the website...it'll tell you it's no problem....but then go to google play store or ios store it 'conventiently offers it from'....and the answer becomes PROBABLY NOT! It doesn't run on any windows machine, it doesn't run on any android tv device I have, it doesn't run on alot of phones. It doesn't run on any windows machine, it doesn't run on any android tv device I have, it doesn't run on alot of phones. I don't know what sennheiser is thinking, but there is no way to modify and set the preferences on this product without this app and chances are you cannot use the app on your devices. They don't even offer the app through their own services, only through google play and mac ios store! What a joke. You will need to borrow a phone that supports the app and calibrate it there and save it to the device....only guess what! This device only supports connection to a single device at a time...so that makes calibrating for a device without the app a nightmare now doesn't it! I remember all these reviews saying "1 device is not a big deal" "you just download the app and you are good" "this works on any device with bluetooth"..."you can watch movies/video great with this"....."the battery is good".....these people are lying to you!Now let's talk about the actual headphones. THEY HAVE NO BATTERY. A woman will scream into your eardrum at MAX VOLUME (you cannot change this without the app if at all, and the manual says only SOME voice screams can be disabled) 6 hours of use into a full charge. THen you will have to place it in the case. The case takes over 3 hours to charge to full. The case will enable you to charge the headphones about 3 times with about 1.5 hours of waiting if not longer for the headphones to recharge to full 6 hours of use again. And this all assumes you keep the case closed. If you want to leave the case opened like it advertises you can, the battery slowly drains and the box is dead within half a day! You cannot store the headphones outside the case, that also eats into the battery life and prevents you from recharging the existing loss of battery life you were already dealing with. Speaking of recharging the box you have to REALLLY push the wire in there for it to start charging, I spent 5 hours trying to get it to charge only to realize it requires a ridiculous amount of force to connect.....why? Cause the light comes on even if u don't have it snapped it making it seem like it is charging,....only its not, confusing. The touch commands are ridiculous, you will press tap commands while trying to trigger hold commands....then have to go and undo the tap commands after. Putitng these in your ears and not triggering touch commands is quite the feat. The instruction manual is horrible, I honestly don't know what the right way to wear these things is...you can go and look on the picture showing the right vs wrong way to put the plugs in, the picture is the exact same.Let's talk about the connection. I don't know how you watch movies on this thing. The delay is too noticeable, the lip sync is sketchy. WHy is there no wire offered with the product?!??!?! THat would rid of any delay problems, but nope that's too much to offer a consumer now isn't it. Instead they pretend they have this new latest technology that makes the delay unnoticeable, and they plant reviews in the outlets saying it's fine for music/video. It's not fine.Let's talk about the sound. I don't know what to think of the sound. It has a heavy bass with some kick....which I like...but it's too loud. The bass just eats into the vocals and it makes many songs sound bad and tiring. The vocals do not have kick. Take stuff like slipknot which uses bass and lyrics....the lyrics when they start sound muffled and like ur listening behind a wall. That's not good. The base beat honestly tires ur ears....it is way way way too predominant and loud when listening to music. boom boom boom booom is what ur ears have to deal with every song. So unless you are only listening to certain instrumental only songs that are mostly bright and dont use drums.... you are going to get tired of using these pretty fast. Most of teh sounds have a muffled feel to them which is very confusing, cause you will get some really clear background instrumentals come in that are bass heavy. You will hear thiings you normally don't hear, but the soundstage is still very limited feeling on these things....speakers are going to be better, period...these will not serve as a speaker replacement at all. Bright sounding music will sound muffled on these...again I'm using them right now and my ears are just tired of this BOOM BOOM BOOOM BOOM from the drums of every single song. These things are going to cause shellshock using them daily.Reviews are all lying about this product. It only lasts 6.5 hours at best, then it requires charging with a woman screaming "RECHARGE HEADSET" in your ear making you jump and hold ur ear in pain. Charging has to be done in the box. The box with the 'premium fabric case'. This fabric cannot be gotten wet, it is a nightmare to clean this box cause of the gross fabric. But hey, people give it an extra star on their reviews cause the box LOOK PREMIUM ooo. This box is hard to store, fits horribly in your pocket, is terrible size and and can only be opened with two hands in a ridiculous fashion and it does not open easily and snaps shut suddenly like a venus fly trap does.I am so tired and angry of reviews misrepresenting products. I find a product I want....and findout it has been discontinued because it got low reviews by these outlets...so I find a product I CAN buy with 5 star reviews and these outlets just plain lie about the product to you, everyone is a liar. I'm sick of it. I contacted sennhsier with my issues with the product (not easy to do either), and their advice was to literally borrow a friend's phone and calibrate the app via that to my liking....I don't know what to think about these design decisions, I really don't. This has software loaded onto it that installs on windows devices!!!! They MADE IT So IT WORKS ON WINDOWS and smart tv devices ETC....but they couldn't be bothered to include the software for these platforms THEY ADVERTISE and made other software to support and run! It makes no sense!!! FIX THIS! Clearly when they developed this, they have a copy of the app running on some kind of linux/windows os!! Let us download it cmon! booom boom booom in my ear every song....I need to find songs with 0 drums at this point...but even the guitar starts to sound like a drum BOOM BOOOm at some point.

My new favorite wireless earphones!

The Sennheiser Momentum line has been a more quality audio take on lifestyle mobile audio products. I’ve owned all the Sennheiser Momentum over ears and a bunch of the in-ear options. One thing I can take away from my experience with them is you know they wouldn’t disappoint when it came to sound. The issues I would have with Sennheiser’s offerings in relation to the competition was simply the overall refinement on the usability side. I would argue that Apple has it down pack in terms of usability refinement. The AirPods lineup for example is incredibly convenient to use however, the sound has always been lacking for me in comparison to Sennheiser’s offerings….Fast forward to these Momentum True Wireless 3’s and I can safely say these are not only a superb ... MoreThe Sennheiser Momentum line has been a more quality audio take on lifestyle mobile audio products. I would argue that Apple has it down pack in terms of usability refinement. The AirPods lineup for example is incredibly convenient to use however, the sound has always been lacking for me in comparison to Sennheiser’s offerings….Fast forward to these Momentum True Wireless 3’s and I can safely say these are not only a superb sounding set of earphones, but they work pretty well in terms of usability. I will call them the MTW3 from now on. Starting off from the packing and it’s a good presentation of a quality product. You have a good assortment of ear tips and even better, ear fins to get a comfortable and secure fit for most users. There’s a classy looking USB-C based charge case that is fitted in a sort of denim material and now finally supports wireless charging. One weird omission is a USB-C cable but I suppose most people buying these will have a USB-C charging cable at hand or a Qi wireless charger. The overall fit and finish of the MTW3 is great. Like stated before, the case is classy and premium looking in appearing and feels like it will hold up well to drops and nicks. The earpieces are plastic but feel solid with no sounds of creaking. Comfort for me is stellar because the earpieces are designed to mold into the shape of the ear and with the added ear fins makes these stay put despite my most vigorous workouts. The Beats Fit Pro also has an ear fin type design but those are more obtrusive and caused discomfort for me after an hour or so. Battery life is competitive at 7 hours with the charging case providing an additional 21 hours or 3 more charges. The included Sennheiser Smart Control app is quite extensive in features and allows further fine tuning of the MTW3’s to better suit your needs. You have the ability to adjust the transparency mode in terms of intensity as well if the music is paused when enabled or not. I personally love that I can set it to pause the music as well when I enable transparency mode. You can of course adjust the EQ but it’s not many points to adjust the tonal balance from since it’s only 3 sliders but it’s better than nothing. AirPods, I’m looking right at you… There’s a sound check feature that plays your music and tells you to choose between three different sounding tonal profiles over a period of tests. After it completes, it then generates an EQ profile for you. It’s ok in practice, but nowhere near as personalized as Nura’s implementation with the NURATRUE and Nuraphones. With the ANC controls within the app, you can activate wind mode which reduces the intensity of the ANC but in return reduces the annoying sound of wind flooding into the microphones. Sound Zones is a feature similar to Sony Headphones Connect app that adjusts the settings depending on where you are like for example at work, home or at the gym. Lastly, you can adjust the touch controls and customize what the inputs trigger.ANC performance for me on the MTW3’s is great. It auto adapts to your surrounds so if it’s quiet, the ANC will ramp down its intensity which in return ramps down the white noise that is common with a lot ANC systems. In my testing at my loud gym, the MTW3’s ANC blocks out a great amount of noise and once music gets going, the world is essentially silent. Transparency mode is relatively natural sounding and I can hold conversations with people. I would say that it's not as eerily natural sounding as the AirPods Pro and Max. Apple has that category on lock. Calls were no issue for me. I heard the callers clearly and loudly and they heard me as well even while being in my loud gym. This is a noticeable improvement from the MTW2.Sound on the MTW3 is simply magnificent. They have a neutral-warm signature. Bass and midrange are relatively flat while the treble is a slightly laid back. Details are easily heard on the MTW3 even when things get complex and busy. The soundstage is also surprisingly large and open for a set of earphones. Volume is very loud and thankfully, unlike Bose’s offerings, there’s no distortion at max volume. In comparison to my previous favorite option in this category, the Sony WF-1000XM4’s, the MTW3 is simply more open, natural sounding and nuanced in its delivery of the music. AirPods Pro don’t really even remotely compare with its midrange focused and weightless sound reminiscent of a cellphone speaker. The MTW3 is a bit brighter than the MTW2 but still retains that Sennheiser smoothness and clarity. In conclusion, I love the new MTW3’s and these are now my new favorite earphones!

Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3 Earbuds

I love me some Bluetooth earbuds, but everything I have so far was quite a bit below the price point for these Sennheisers. This go round I thought to go up several notches on the price and see if there was a noticeable difference. For the sound, charging, and customization available on the app, yes these definitely were a step or two up. Other areas actually kind of disappointed, but those areas depend on how and where you want to use your earbuds. If you are looking at Sennheiser, you are probably looking for the best SOUND you can get in the price range. Their reputation is established, and they seem to be very focused on making sure that sound quality is second to none. Their reputation is established, and they seem to be very focused on making sure that sound quality is second to none. For this, the Momentum 3 meet the expectations, as the sound is excellent, and the phone app provides many ways to customize the sound and operation of the earbuds.FIT is excellent, as there are both several sizes of earbuds AND optional ear “fins” for an extra snug and secure fit if you need it. More choices mean a little more time to get the fit sorted out, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Once you get your fit dialed in to your personal liking, you should be able to wear these for extended periods and stay comfortable. The size of these buds is larger than most of the others I have used, and using them for extremely active workouts, or on the other end of the day putting your head on the pillow with these – probably not the best way to use them.CALLING works fine for me. I can hear the caller with no issues, and the callers report that the sound is clear with no ambient noise.BATTERY provides several hours as advertised, and the case has plenty of capacity for a recharge or two. Wireless charging is nice, and if you already have a wireless pad for other devices the Momentum should work fine with what you have.Bluetooth CONNECTION is solid and the phone app manages ALL connections, not just the connection with the phone.Comparing to other wireless earbuds I use regularly, here are a few of the things missing that I am used to on other sets.CASE is larger than others I have and is a bit much for putting in a pants or shirt pocket. If you are looking for something to carry around in your pocket – you probably want to move on.SWITCHING from one device to another (example from phone to desktop/laptop) requires use of the app, as you have to open the phone app, and use it to disconnect from one device and connect to the other device. The app does show ALL the devices that the buds are paired with – which is the first time I have seen this in earbud apps, and you use the app to cut connection to the current device and switch connection the new device and the app takes if from there. Sennheiser has been rumored to indicate that multi-point connection will be added with a firmware update but been there done that on promised updates that are about “missing” features.BATTERY LEVEL NOTIFICATION for some reason you don’t get an announcement about the battery level when you put in these buds. If your buds need recharging, you will get a “recharge” notice, but no audible notice of high/med…. You can open the app on your phone and see what the battery level is, or check the connection status on your computer, but no verbal notification. This seems to be some oversight and I hope this will be corrected with a firmware update.ANC is getting mixed reviews on these buds. Sennheiser has the “adaptive noise canceling” which adapts to ambient noise levels and gets “stronger” or “weaker” depending on surrounding noises. It really does work, and there is also a “pass-through” function that works well and is adjustable using the app. However, I have compared the ANC in same environment with these Sennheisers, a lower price point pair of buds, and a medium price point headset. The Sennheiser ANC is the least effective of these three. This is my personal experience and also my personal preference is that ANC should work at maximum effect all the time. I reckon that uses a wee bit more battery, but I’ll take that as acceptable trade-off for maximum ANC effectiveness.Overall, no major complaints although honestly speaking other than the sound quality (which is excellent) I was expecting more from the “little things” like notifications, ANC, and multi-point that could come with this higher price point. Best use for these seems to be the “wear during the day” applications as long as you have somewhere to put the case. Using for vigorous athletic activities or wearing them to bed… not so much.Greetings from Central Georgia!

Superior Sennheiser Sound
4 August 2022

Let me start by saying that I'm an Apple-Stan, and that I have a multitude of fruited products - including AirPods Pro. I thought for sure that those buds were giving me some great bang for my buck, that was until I pitted them up against the Sennheiser M3TW buds. WOW. What a markedly different sound profile, both in range and depth. These things blow my AirPods out of the water, and have instantly made them expendable.I'm not really surprised, since I've been a Sennheiser fan since I purchased Momentum over the ear studio headphones a few years back. Even back then I was stunned at how flat and hollow sounding Beats were compared to my Senns. It's rich, full sound that doesn't let me down no matter what I'm listening to - thanks in large part to the ... MoreLet me start by saying that I'm an Apple-Stan, and that I have a multitude of fruited products - including AirPods Pro. It's rich, full sound that doesn't let me down no matter what I'm listening to - thanks in large part to the equalizer. The two cons that I can point at are noise canceling and app functions. The noise canceling on these is good, but definitely sub-par compared to that of an AirPod Pro or Bose bud. Also, the Sennheiser apps are abysmal, and they always have been. They're just clunky and often have connection issues. It took a couple times of unpairing the buds and uninstalling the app to finally get everything working together. Frustrating, yes, but not a deal breaker. Hopefully Sennheiser will eventually put together a dev team that can create an app worthy of the sound quality.

The good, the bad and the left earbud
14 September 2022

Sound is good, the best that I've heard from any earbud I've tried so far, though I haven't tried a many (about 3 or 4 pairs.)The fit and comfort was really good after I found the right size eartips and fin. I wasn't able to hear my own heartbeat or footsteps when wearing these either which is really good cause I hate hearing those.Connectivity is okay, when I first got them the connection would drop and I'd have to reseat them in the case and take them out again, this hasn't happened to me in awhile. Sometimes when I'd place them in the case the earbuds wouldn't disconnect from my phone and I'd have to reseat them, that rarely happened but it has happened. Sometimes when moving/shaking the case the earbuds would connect to my phone, I think the earbuds come loose ... MoreSound is good, the best that I've heard from any earbud I've tried so far, though I haven't tried a many (about 3 or 4 pairs.)The fit and comfort was really good after I found the right size eartips and fin. Sometimes when moving/shaking the case the earbuds would connect to my phone, I think the earbuds come loose from the magnets holding it in place and cause it to connect. I only ever connect these earbuds to my phone so the no multi point wasn't a deal breaker for me. Being able to use the earbuds independently from one another was a big plus for me, I've only had one other set of earbuds be able to do it.Touch controls are nice and were responsive to me but I couldn't change what each tap would do unless both earbuds were in. I also couldn't activate hear through or ANC while only one earbud is in. I hardly use either of those two options, though, it would have been nice to be able to use hear through with only one earbud in.The battery life was good compared to most of the other earbuds I've tried, can't say for sure when ANC or hear through are on though since I don't typically have both earbuds in to try it.The Big Problem:While at work the left earbud made a strange sound, like static, it only lasted a couple seconds but after the left earbud would play at a significantly reduced sound level from the right earbud, wearing both earbuds makes this very noticeable.I've had these earbuds about 3 months and used them, typically, 4 days a week for about 8 hours on each of those days.I've never had this happen with any other earbuds and I've never had any other earbuds last this short amount of time. I've sent them in for warranty around (09/11/22) and we'll see what happens.

Top Tier Quality

I absolutely love these things. The sound quality is excellent, the build quality feels great, the case feels sturdy and the headphones are very comfortable. The addition of the little wing tips when compared to the previous generation really help them feel comfortable for extended listening sessions.Pros:Sound Quality: It goes without saying that the sound quality is excellent. Using the Sennheiser Smart Control app lets you come up with your own EQ to fit your preferences and get the sound you want.Comfort: They are comfortable. They fit snugly and don't fall out,Battery: I hardly ever think about charging these. I've never had the battery die when I needed them, but the wireless charging means if I'm desperate I can use my phone's reverse wireless charging ... MoreI absolutely love these things. The app lets you get more involved with how you let sound in or block it out, and I like that quite a bit.Cons: The app is a little clunky, and makes switching between devices a bit slower than I would like.No bluetooth multipoint.Connection range is a little low, but that's not usually a problem for me. One example would be if I leave the room while listening to a video on my computer, I might start getting some connectivity issues, but it's really not much of a concern.
