So far so great! this is a slightly long review after only 2 days of owning it, but i wanna help give the best impression instead of something that looks fakeI have really long hair so some of it does still appear on the roller at first, but the more you use/ run the vacuum, the more it starts to remove. seeing how much hair it picked up/ "had stuck" around the roller after the first try, i can't imagine how much more would have actually been stuck on a regular vacuum. but running it more as the guide suggest actually does help it remove more of that hair without having to fix it yourself. the "zero-m" refers to the zero maintenance (or so a review video suggests), and so far i haven't needed to stop and fix the rollers after one pass. it's seriously great and ... MoreSo far so great! this is a slightly long review after only 2 days of owning it, but i wanna help give the best impression instead of something that looks fakeI have really long hair so some of it does still appear on the roller at first, but the more you use/ run the vacuum, the more it starts to remove. seeing how much hair it picked up/ "had stuck" around the roller after the first try, i can't imagine how much more would have actually been stuck on a regular vacuum. but running it more as the guide suggest actually does help it remove more of that hair without having to fix it yourself. the "zero-m" refers to the zero maintenance (or so a review video suggests), and so far i haven't needed to stop and fix the rollers after one pass. it's seriously great and makes vacuuming a lot more fun.I've also seen a lot of video reviews before investing in this one. it helps pick up cat litter without creating projectiles out of them like my 10yo dirt devil. idk if it's truly the tech or just better built vacuums now, but i guess that locked in filtering system really does work, because i no longer become sneezy after vacuuming or feel itchy from the dust that's been disturbed.i also like that its got the suction adjuster built into the handle. it mostly is a slider that lets out more air thru that part to weaken the suction, but i haven't had any issues adjusting it so far.it also really IS a huge compartment space. I don't vacuum often, so when i do i usually need to empty the container pretty often over a small area. so far, i haven't, and I've gotten maybe 10% of my floor space with it. I also like that it has a very contained suction, you could say. it doesn't pull in objects from further away, which may be good or bad depending on how exact you need it to be (i need it to be exact because i struggle with cleaning as an adhd/depression person, and thus don't often have everything picked up at once :( so no more accidental suction of a feathered cat toy or a bed sheet that was too close to the ground.)it is heavier than my old vacuum, but it does run a lot smoother when it comes to turningi haven't tried the tools yet, it only came with two. i also haven't tried using the handle as a wand yet, but after what I've seen in small areas, I'm expecting it to live up to the advertisement like everything else has! if i'm able to come back and edit my review after trying it, i will, but so far I'm loving it.about the only thing i don't like is not having a kick stand to pull the vacuum down. you have to put your foot on the vacuum in order to get it out of standing, per instructions, and I'm afraid that I'll break it somehow because of my weight or force. hopefully THAT doesn't get proven true

I had a Shark a few years ago, loved it but had to leave it when I left my ex.. so I bought a few Bissels / Dirt Devils since (due to finances) that were supposedly for pet hair.. it never compared. So after the last one started to loose its suction, I knew I’d have to go back to Shark .. randomly at Walmart I saw this one on sale and the color matched my house (yes, I’m into that kinda thing lol) so I scooped it up! Easy set up. The suction is superb! Handheld is great! I’ll never buy another brand. The last one I had lasted for years, similar model I think.I added a pic of the result of JUST my living room! Best Shark to date, especially for pets! This works great, and it does everything it promises, and then some. I already had an older model Shark, and the only problem I ever had was after every use I would need to clean hair out of the brush roll. If you've ever done that job you know how gross it is. Soon as I seen this vacuum advertising a brush roll that doesn't clog with hair, I was sold! It woks beautifully too! I haven't had to clean this roller one time, and I've been using it for a couple months now. Its suction is incredible too. I always do a little test with a new vacuum, just to see if it performs better than whatever old existing vacuum I'm using. I was using an older model shark navigator. I haven't had to clean this roller one time, and I've been using it for a couple months now. Its suction is incredible too. I always do a little test with a new vacuum, just to see if it performs better than whatever old existing vacuum I'm using. I was using an older model shark navigator. So I vacuum the floor with the old machine, and then immediately vacuum again with the new one, just to see if it can pick up more than its counterpart. I was actually blown away with how much it picked up, its tank almost filled up with the dirt and dog hair the old machine missed. I had noticed that the old navigator was leaving behind some dog hair, and I genuinely just thought it was never going to completely clean it all. Then I used this new one. I'm telling you, it was honestly amazing how much of a difference it makes. I used to be able to do my entire apartment and empty the tank once at the end. Now if I go a few days without a vacuum I'll have to empty the tank before I finish, and keep in mind that this one's tank is legit double the size of the older sharks! It's absolutely mandatory especially if you have pets, or if you have trouble with hair clogging the brush! I recommend literally everyone to buy this vacuum!
I previously had a Shark NV650 which was the best vacuum I’d ever owned. When this broke I was interested in the ZU60 due to the long hose which supposedly went full length of stairs, and wanted to try the non brush roller. I don’t care for this model at all. The power cord, despite what these pictures show, comes out of vacuum near bottom and so constantly running it over and so you have to hold it constantly and it knocks into attachments and sends them flying. The hose may stretch far after years of stretching it out but I can’t get it to stretch any further than a regular hose. The self clean rubber brush roll doesn’t seem to pick up as well as the typical brush roll. Also, there is not a lift away feature so that is really limiting. Like mentioned above, once you get hose fully extended you need something to weigh it down so it doesn't fall over from over extensionAccessories- My liftaway had a ton of accessories for options i.e. stair brushroll, and a few others but let's stick with that one. For a machine that claims it's turbo power for pets to not provide a stair brushroll seems silly, I have tried to rig my old one to fit my new machine and it works just ok, I end up using my old vacuum to do the stairs ugh.Self Cleaning Brushroll- seems ok for now but still have hair wrapped around it that i'm sure I'll have to cut off.Overall:I like the vacuum, esthetically it's really good looking (because you know that's important) It seems to do a good job as needed, I wish it was a clone of my liftaway with "newer" features but it's not.
Lots of likes and dislikes. Pros- the suction power is great! I previously had a Shark Rotator, and the suction power on this Navigator is much more powerful. The canister is also 2x the size, so I can vacuum my whole house (1900 sqf) without having to empty until the end. Which is awesome! I also like the extension hose and the length you get to vacuum high corners and low baseboards. Cons- the cord is definitely shorter than expected and I have to change plugs ins (more than before) to get throughout the house. The weight of the vacuum is 15-16lbs so there is definitely a difference with that. The switch to toggle back and forth from carpet to hard woods is on the top of the canister. The toggle switch on my old vacuum was in the handle which made it much easier to transition while vacuuming. It’s a minor thing, but makes a difference when your already moving a heavier machine. All in all, it’s a great vacuum and I’ll be keeping it. And I’m sure with time I’ll get used to the adjustments. The suction power for getting up pet hair and the No tangle roller is enough to make the change to this machine for me.
The Shark Navigator is the one for us. A family of 3 with a toddler, we live in a small apartment with a 75lb, long haired Australian Shepherd. By the time two days go by, there are hair balls, dust bunny colonies, baby snacks and more hair clumps everywhere. Our old Dyson is finally kicking the bucket after 5 long years, and I thought I’d give the Shark Navigator a try. I also clean houses for a living, and I don’t particularly love the Dyson ball models and wanted something new. This was IT! If I could afford to buy this vacuum twice, I would.Pros:-Powerful, powerful, suction with a silicone bristley brush roll that can go and go and go with low or no maintenance! I haven’t had to clean the brush yet (it’s “self-cleaning”) and I’ve already filled and dumped the dirt reservoir several times!-SO easy to turn! Smooth control.-Dirt reservoir can hold a CRAZY amount of dog hair! At over 2 quarts’ worth of capacity, this is the one for us. Our vacuum fills so fast with dog hair, we could weave a whole new dog out of what we pick up! The Navigator can hold it all.-Dirt reservoir opens to empty from BOTH ends, so I don’t have to dig into the top of the inside to pull out hairballs with scissors or my hands like I did with my D33 Dyson. While I loved my Dyson, this has topped it.-Long cord!-Decent long and skinny crevice tool. Decent attachment for cleaning steps.-Under $200!!-Suction adjustment at the top of the handle for area rugs!Cons:-A touch heavy. Not for older folks with arthritis. I’m 27 and have cleaned houses for a long time, and I got used to the weight of this very quickly—but I could see a smaller framed older person struggling with any pre existing carpal tunnel, etc over time.-I was hoping this would be more of a metallic orange! It’s more like a matte red orange. Not a big deal though, it’s just a color.-No optional brush topper for the end of the crevice tool, which is important to me for quickly dusting low shelves near the floor and delicate surfaces I don’t want to scuff.-No “edging bristles” on the main vacuum head. My Dyson had these and I so wish that the Shark did. It still does pretty well suctioning along base boards, but could be even better! Maybe an improvement for a later model.-Loud/somewhat shrill sound in brush mode, but we got use to it quickly (within a day). My dog for some reason tolerates the sound of this vacuum better than my last one though.Even with any of the minor inconveniences in my cons section… this vacuum is perfect. It is a 5 stars from me and I would buy it again in a heartbeat. Husband feels the same way!
If you plan on never, ever using the attachments then maybe this vacuum will work for you as an upright. However, if you intend to actually use the attachments for cleaning, then stop, turn and run away from this vacuum.First of all, the following product description is a flat-out lie: "An extendable hose for up to 12 feet of total reach gives you access to hard-to-clean areas above the floor like stairs, furniture, and more." In reality, you can reach maybe 7 feet (max) feet before the vacuum tips and falls over. Specifically, the hose is flexible but it does NOT stretch - not even a millimeter. The hose's lack of elasticity, paired with how top-heavy the vacuum is, means the unit is always falling over when using the attachments. In reality, you can reach maybe 7 feet (max) feet before the vacuum tips and falls over. Specifically, the hose is flexible but it does NOT stretch - not even a millimeter. The hose's lack of elasticity, paired with how top-heavy the vacuum is, means the unit is always falling over when using the attachments. To realistically reach more than 6 to 7 feet you need someone to hold the vacuum so it doesn't tip over, which is totally asinine. The vacuum does not come with a dusting brush. C'mon man, it is the attachment I use the most. I had to purchase the dusting brush separately from Shark and paying shipping costs. It seems Shark intentionally made the hose an odd size, because I tried the dusting brush from my shop vac and a brush from old vacuum but neither fit the Shark’s hose.Vacuum does not have an auto-retractable cord. I knew this going in, but didn't realize how much I would miss the feature until it was gone.Vacuum does not have a light/ head lamp. I also knew this going in but, again, didn't realize how much I would miss the feature. My final thought is that the vacuum works fine as an upright. However, for cleaning with attachments it is nearly unusable. Knowing what I know now, I would not have purchased this vacuum, nor do I recommend it.
My old vacuum just wasn't cutting it anymore. I have long hair, below my waist, and I shed a lot. My hair wrapped around the beater bar so bad it would lock it up to where it wouldn't work. I'd have to cut it out and that was not easy. It finally killed my vacuum.I saw this vacuum on sale at a good price so thought I would try it. Figured if it wasn't as advertised, I would return it. I also have a dog but she does not shed but does bring in a lot of dirt on her paws. She goes everywhere with me and we are pretty active. Take her on nearly daily hikes.I am NOT returning this vacuum. I got it and was using it for the first time within 15 minutes of delivery. I was absolutely shocked at the dirt this thing picked up! I knew my old vacuum was no longer doing a good job but gross, the dirt this pulled from my carpet was disgusting!I did a quick vacuum of my living room, bedroom and bathroom then decided to dump it. I didn't even do a thorough vacuum and the amount of dirt and hair this picked up was amazing.Unbelievably, the beater bar was clean. (see pictures for the amount of disgusting dirt and hair and the clean beater bar, after I had finished. The bit twisted up in the dirt picture, is my hair.)I recommend this vacuum, specially to people with pets or long hair that sheds.I don't know how long it will last but, so far, I am sold!
