When it comes to pedals there are so many . . . but Shimano consistently brings the best overall package over and over, and I'm not really even a Shimano fan!!! They're light-weight, lighter than most, especially in the price range, they take a real beating out there on the trail, they work flawlessly and they last forever, what more could you want!?!?!?

These haven't changed very much in 30 years. They were a perfect design from day one. Everyone has copied them as close as they could get away with. These things work. These things are bomber. I got my first pair in the 90's and have them on all my mtn bikes and my gravel bike. Even use them on a fat bike in winter.

Good positive clip when engaging into new cleats in the shoes. Not really a lot to say on these pedals. They work well, with a nice solid engagement (and disengagement). Last pair lasted 10 or so years, i would imagine these will too. Just a shame they are so pricey, as is everything in the bike industry these days.

Purchased these instead of xtr version. I can’t notice a difference for the money. Great on my mtb bike or cyclocross bike. Easily clip in and out with no issues. Mud clears the pedal better than previous pedals
I have always used Shimano MTB pedals on my road bike (personal preference) and these pedals are great. Never felt the need to buy/install the lighter Shimano XT model before, but these were fitted to a light bike.Very simple to install and easy to adjust the tension. If you are new to cleats/pedals I would recommend slacking off all 4 adjusters and maybe apply a little light tension (2 clicks on the adjuster).Clipping in and out is simple.Not sure the price is fully justified when compared to slightly heavier and cheaper models; "horses for course"Look great. Highly recommended.
I have been using the Shimano spd mountain pedals for years. I did try a few others but, always end up back using Shimano. They always work even when muddy. My new bike will be powered by this pair.
I have used these and older style XT level mountain SPD style pedals on all of my bikes- road, mountain and gravel for years. The only ones that I have had any problems with are the previous PD M- 8000 versions, which are prone to breaking spindles after a few years of use. Hopefully this new version will be an improvement.
Nice design, easy installation and set up and top quality product. Shimano has probably the best pedals on the market. It is high quality material, come with cleats you can install to your bike shoe. Might be a little pricey for you, but to have great pedals is worth it. They can last years and can be used in your future bike too.
I will be honest.I've ridden the range of Shimano pedals.. From the 520's to their PD, EP, and ME linesThey're kinda all the same. Shimano is rock solid for pedals and mine get bashed all over the place and mud and road gunk from commuting.But when I held these in my hand, I had a smile and it just felt good to have a new pedal that was from the upper range of their line.Do I ride hard and need it? NopeDo I spend a lot of hours riding? YesIs riding sometimes about vanity and buying nice things? YepSo buy this if you've got the extra cash. As the intangible gains are there! Plus it has a nice spindle and bearings inside for easy servicing!!
Bought a pair of Shimano XT PD-M8100 SPD Pedals online. It took 21 days to deliver. And the worst part is: the left hand pedal got clear disassemble marks/scratches on it, with annoying metal grinding friction sound and feeling, plus a lot green grease between the pedal and the axle.Very disappointing shopping experience.Order # 3601160104.I can't afford another several weeks to return this one. Will buy a new pair myself.Will NEVER buy from Pushys again!!!!!!!
