I bought this to hopefully make my own clothes. In time!! The instructions aren’t great but there are some online and UTube is very helpful. Lovely Compact light and good looking machine. I’m a beginner so didn’t want anything too fancy but love it so far. Fingers crossed I will be making clothes soon and not just masks :-)

No instruction book with it. The needle supplied had a very small eye so was almost impossible to thread. Only one bobbin with the machine. No felt washer for under the reel of thread. If all these things were addressed I would have given it 5 stars.

I have now had my Singer Start 1306 for a couple of weeks now and I am very pleased with it. I should also applaud Very for the speedy delivery of this purchase. The machine is easy to use and I can see that it has sufficient features to progress my sewing beyond the novice level. I only award 4 stars because I have not had the machine long enough to assess it’s durability. I will happily refresh my rating (if allowed to) after the passage of some time.
I was scared to tackle this as I haven't touched a sewing machine for years, but after reading reviews I decided to give it a go. I wanted a machine for seams, hems, simple stuff. Well I have found it so easy to use and it comes with a 'proper' instruction leaflet, with diagrams and explanations for everything. It feels substantial and I love the size of it. Totally sold.
Pros: Very good value, easy to thread and will see a lot more than its size would imply. Stitches are easy to change and it will see all but the thickest layers of fabric. Cons: It's only problem is that it is a little light and as a fully skilled machinist I have to tone down the speed of my sewing a little or it moves about. Other than that it a lovely machine.
This Singer Sewing Machine is such good value for money. It has all a person needs in a sewing machine to do the basic repairs, craftwork or sew beautiful outfits. It also gives peace of mind, knowing that Singer Sewing Machines have been around for hundreds of years. I had my last Singer Sewing Machine for 30 yrs and it was still going strong when I gave it to a relative as I wanted to update. Let's face it, When you think of a Vaccume Cleaner the first name that comes into your head is Hoover, and when you think of a Sewing Machine, You think of Singer, because these are two leading brands we all grew up with. It just makes sense to trust the companies that you know the best.
Am 83yrs. Young, always used a singer. This model inexpensive , compact, quiet machine, with all necessary basics. BUT, the Extension Table has to be REMOVED to ACCESS the bobbin!!!!!Fiddly, awkward to insert . Previous Singers, loaded the bobbin from the TOP...how simple (logic) to just slide back a cover and DROP IT IN . A new colour cotton, a different bobbin, means the frustrating RITUAL all over again. Love the machine but HATE the bobbin....dampened my excitement a bit after waiting so long to afford to replace my old Singer when it retired itself
Pros: I absolutely LOVE this!!!! Bought as an extra to use in addition to a computerised sewing machine, so I could set this Singer Start up for simple seams etc to save continually changing settings/feet/thread etc on my other.... however, I love it so much, it is such a joy to use that it has now become my preferred,main , go-to machine over my other that cost about 12 times the price. Highly recommend. Cons: I wouldnt change anything about this machine, it is brilliant!
Pros: Nice quiet smooth machine. Great for basic sewing. Cons: Extremely light weight tends to move around ond table while sewing. All plastic.
