SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Masque 75 ml

SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 mask is great for most skin types. It has high concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid and B5 which are both great if you are looking for a product to hydrate and moisturize your skin. By simply putting the gel mask into your fingers you rub it evenly all over your face. Let this mask set for about 5-15 minutes. After your time has elapsed you can easily rinse the mask off your face without issue. Once you are all rinsed off and dried off is when you can feel how soft and smooth your face feels. After only one application you can already start to see how moisturized and hydrated your face has become. You can see how your dullness was turned into glowy beautiful skin. I swear by this brand and would highly recommend it.

A tall glass of H20 for my Skin

I adore this masque when I feel my skin needs the extra hydration. Due to the cost, I use it sparingly vs. “a thick layer” as recommended; about a fingertip dollop. After 20 minutes, I mist my face with Avene Thermal Water and rub the remaining product into my skin to leave on overnight (sealed with Hydra Balm). I find that misting helps with absorption and prevents the stickiness and pilling that I read in the negative reviews prior to purchasing. Honestly, I have wasted thousands of dollars on just about every skincare brand out there but this masque, Serum 10 AOX+, Hydrating B5 Gel, the Soothing Cleanser, a basic moisturizer, and Physical Fusion SPF have my skin looking great. Confusing instructions...

I use this mask from time to time, especially in the winter. I only recently noticed the confusing instructions for use. On the package it says to rinse off after 10 minutes. On the product it says to just massage into the skin implying that it stays on. Even on the website it is not clear whether it needs to stay on or be rinsed off. I'm very surprised that for a high end product there are no clear instructions for use.That being said, I've done both. I do find that it has a slightly sticky/tacky feel to it when it's left on, making my skin actually feel a bit tight. This is a bit uncomfortable and it makes me want to wash it off. I guess I will use it overnight if I need deep hydration and just for 10-15 minutes for a refresh. But I really do wish the company would provide clear, consistent instructions so I can maximize the benefits.

Directions misleading, add a lil moisture!

A very important piece of the application is when it tells you to just rub in the excess, you need to add moisture to do that. Lil spritz of something to emulsify the remaining gel so it doesn't pile or bead. I usually add some resveretol serum and rub all that in together but just plain water will work! When you do that and it's all up in your face correctly the results are wonderful! Just poor description on how to actually "rub it in".... just add a lil moisture!

HORRIBLE FOR ME

This is really strange because I am a big fan of SkinCeuticals and I do well with B5, but wow. I was fine with the product when I first applied it, but when I went to massage in the excess it was pilling . Even that would have been fine, but within an hour my face, but checks in particular, looked completely broken out or like a rash. I've never had a problem with any of the ingredients, in this formulation, so this is really strange. In any case, I will not use it, but will continue to use my other SkinCeutical products, of which I am very fond.

Mask was a disappointment for me

Mask was a disappointment for me. It’s incredibly hard to remove, I would just assume rather purchase the B5 in the dropper bottle. Both are expensive but at least with the serum I know what’s going on. The mask pilled up for me a lot, even when I tried applying it with varying levels of thickness. I really don’t like having to use textured side of Delon pads or a washcloth to basically scrub it off my face. Is it a mask? Is it a Levi moisturizer? Is it a night mass? Not really clear on what the deal is with this expensive goo. The only way I could imagine this feeling nicer pleasant as if I had a sunburn. Which I probably won’t because I am I’m nut about sunscreen.

Perfect for skin

Really bad, irritated my face

I got this mask to hydrate my skin night before to my trial make up for my wedding thinking this will be great, and it burned my face horrible and my face turned red? I couldn’t tolerate I washed after 5 mins of applied, and even after still was burning. Really bad experience.And I know I am not allergic to hyaluronic acid bc I tried it before in different products.

Too Notch Hydration

I occasionally get small patches of compromised skin barrier from tretinoin and glycolic acid. This mask immediately starts the healing process and within 2-3 days, those areas are back to normal. The next morning my face feels super hydrated. I do however apply the mask with damp hands because it helps the gel spreads easier, And, because it has hyaluronic acid, it’s a great way to pull in more moisture.
