The extension rig is installed at the end of the FX3 XLR Handle by a 1/4inch-20 screw which can extend the FX3 XLR Handle back by 30mm. It is ergonomically designed to provide users with a comfortable grip. In addition the extension rig is also equipped with a NATO rail which is installed on the top of the FX3 XLR Handle by two 1/4inch-20 screws. It provides more accessory installation interfaces for shooting scenes so that you can quickly install/release monitors EVF etc. The extension rig has Cold Shoemultiple 1/4inch-20 3/8inch-16 and ARRI 3/8-16 accessory threads providing multiple accessory mounting interfaces for shooting. In addition the NATO rail can be removed and the extension rig can be used separately.

I originally bought the Kondor Blue version but found it very uncomfortable to hold. It felt bulky and was pretty sharp around some of the 3/8 threads. I returned it for this version and this is infinitely better! It is more comfortable and feels more secure in your hand thanks to the ribbing on the bottom side of the handle. This version also feels like it's not there, meaning it feels like it came with the Fx3 and is integrated very well, unlike the KB version which felt heavy and bulky on top of the handle.

Great add on. It allows me to fit a screen on the handle. I've seen videos that show that this handle is a weak point. This SmallRig extension seems to fix that.

Handier than expected, no pun intended. I have to admit I was struggling with mounting things on my FX3 until I bought this. Much more usable than the handle alone.

If you use the XLR handle on the FX3 then this is a necessary add-on. Makes the handle easy to grab and bulks up the handle a bit so it's not so flimsy. Very well made. I've been a SmallRig fan for a long time.
The handle is beautifully built. I like that it comes in two parts - so one can attach only what one really needs. The way I hold the grip and I imagine the way Sony had designed this in mind, doesn't for me require any extension. Is it essential? I'd say no. Unlike others who rig their FX3 to the hilt I like to keep my setup as minimal as possible while still having a Sennheiser 416 mounted and a wireless lav mic system attached. And I can do all this without the need of any extension rig.Having said this - if you need an extension, then look no further. This will answer all your needs.
A very comfortable handle that turns the XLR Handle into a full-fledged holder with the possibility of attaching additional equipment. I recommend!
It's such a simple piece, yet it's effect on the FX3 is profound: a larger grip and more mounting options. And it fits like a glove. Sony engineers should take note of this ingenious part.
Had read positive reviews about this handle extension, but I wasn't sure I needed this until it actually arrived and I installed it. Turns out that out was just what was needed. I am finding it very useful and appropriately substantial. Glad I made the purchase.
Job was great and well done. it's all metal, solid and firm. You should have this extension for FX3
you will have more mounting points, and the handle will be much more ergonomica no brainer to get
