First item we have bought by Smeg after some consideration of other brands we have previously tried. So glad we decided to pay that bit extra as this toaster does all that we expect. It toasts evenly on bread but is clever to know that a thick item such as a crumpet needs more toasting on one side than the other. It could be a coincidence but we have crumpets alot. We also bought the red to match other appliances and it's elegant curves look so good in our kitchen. It definitely feels premium and solid unlike some others that are cheaper but feel a bit flimsy. The outer can get warm in use but the manual does tell you that. Ordering through AO was easy and delivery was on time. It was well packaged so unlikely to get damaged in transit.

Love this toaster! Its retro design adds a colorful splash to the kitchen. The sturdy, well made, simple mechanics makes perfect toast every time. Regular medium toast with wholewheat grainy bread usually require a setting of 2. The toaster arrived quickly and was extremely well packed with good instructions. Also ordered the grill rack for for making grilled sandwiches. Makes perfect grilled cheese with minimal clean up. Well worth the high price.

Purchased both the kettle and toaster and look stylish stood together. I would say, however, they are a slightly different cream in colour. On the technical bit, it is self explanatory to use (as all toasters) and the toast comes out really hot. Maybe my previous toaster was on it's way out! The best bit though, it browns both side's of the bread to perfection touching the edge's. Really happy with my choice and would recommend but an expensive one compared to other models.

SMEG appliances are outstanding for their workmanship, and this toaster looks beautiful on my kitchen bench top. The white colour is very easy to clean, leaves almost no finger smudges and as my bench top is also white, it blends in seamlessly for an uncluttered look. Love it. Would buy again. And bought one for my daughter when she moved into her new apartment as a house warming gift.
Had a new kitchen and decided to splash out on a smeg toaster. The first one went back because the pop out crumb tray mechanism didn't work. Overall the quality isn't what I'd expect for something with this price tag. Many of the component parts are plastic, not metal. The bread is not uniformly toasted: one side always less cooked than the other. There is a very annoying lip around the toasting slots which catches all the crumbs and requires a small brush to remove them. So in terms of design and function I am disappointed in smeg. I wouldn't buy this brand again.
I purchased this toaster for my husband as an anniversary gift. It soon began only toasting on one side, not toasting evenly. By nudging the control just a bit it burned the toast. I have called, emailed and messaged Smeg repeatedly with no response whatsoever. I have now been trying to resolve the issue with CB, and no one will assist with a return. I wish I had read all of these prior reviews before purchase however, I had faith in an expensive product like Smeg. We are done with it and ready to just take it into a CB store and leave it.
Sometimes you just need toast. Whether it’s as simple as toast and Vegemite or a smashed avo with yourbreakfast laté, the SMEG toaster has your back. Super reliable, perfectly done toast every time. And let’s face it, the machine looks spectacular and goes with all your other super cool SMEG appliances. I mean sure you can make toast with a $20 supermarket job but seriously who wants to be seen dead at your next ladies brunch with one of those. Get the SMEG I say - you deserve it!
I have the Smeg coffee maker and wanted the set.It really is beautiful. I have read many negative reviews and prayed I would not get a lemon as there are some good ones too. I ordered from Dillards and pick up in store. Service was great and 3 days later it was ready to pick up. Well sadly I got a lemon. Toasts on only one side burns on the other on 3. So I tried 2 and the same. 1 didn't toast at all. Users manual said add more cooking by pushing re heat so I did and the toast popped up and onto the floor. I'm returning but I re ordered because I really want this toaster. I'll do another review with the new one.
I bought this to match a Smeg blender I already have in white. Love the brand and it's retro style. The toaster is what it is ... a toaster, does what it says on the tin. It has wider slots than my previous much cheaper one. Settings are easy to use. The one thing I've noticed is that it doesn't drop hardly any crumbs underneath and actually collects them in the push out trays below .... Yes finally a toaster that collects crumbs! Looks super stylish. The only reason I've given it 4 stars is the price. It is basically a toaster and like most things you're paying for the brand. Also like the fact you can get extra accessories like a warming rack which for the price would've been nice to be included. I do recommend Smeg as a brand though and have a few of their products.
good looking and solidly built, a bit slow on heating but results are good. looks really smart and retro. lever slides smoothly into place instead of you having to slam it down as in a lot of other models. i did find that with two thick pieces of toast it didnt completely pop up but exposed enough of the slices to get hold of. one piece no problem. over all a good piece of kit.
