Unpacked mixer and on first use orbital motion was jerky accompanied by terrible grinding and squealing... smeg have replaced this machine with another... so far ok. But I am amazed that quality control at factory is so lacking, just hoping new one is reliable

I bought it as a graduation gift for my self. I love it so much even though there were slightly manufactural faulty on the beater and dough hook. The customer service team organised the replacement immediately.

Unpacked mixer and on first use orbital motion was jerky accompanied by terrible grinding and squealing... smeg have replaced this machine with another... so far ok. But I am amazed that quality control at factory is so lacking, just hoping new one is reliable

I bought it as a graduation gift for my self. I love it so much even though there were slightly manufactural faulty on the beater and dough hook. The customer service team organised the replacement immediately.
We purchased the full range of SMEG Retro appliances and the overall quality and performance is very good.They are solidly built and heavier than many lightweight cheaper competitors.We have been using them for 4 years now and they still look like brand new and function perfectly.One really annoying failure is the handle on the stainless steel bowl of the stand mixer.It fell off within 6 months of use, it was kindly replaced by customer service without problem. Sadly the replacement has also failed, we now have 2 bowls without handles!An annoying inconvenience but it stops me giving 5 stars and an excellent rating.

The Smeg mixer has been so easy to use. I’ve made bread, I’ve made cakes, I’ve made pavlova and it’s been so simple! It comes with a few little recipe cards too to help you out with your inspiration!Plus it’s pink!
The mixing bowl came flying out while the mixer is running a mix! At first I thought it was me not fixing the bowl in right but it came flying out even the next time I made sure it is fitted tightly.And gradually it is not fixing well anymore.
Received advice that this item comes with a bonus pasta roller and cutter set. However the package gives inadequate advice on how to redeem this offer.
