I wear prescription glasses… and most people who wear glasses underneath , know exactly how frustrating it can be when it fogs up and you cannot see on snowy days. These goggles have been a game changer, they fit perfect over my glasses and on my face. They have never fogged up on me, even on 6 degree days and snowing outside. The storm lense it comes with is perfect for low light days. The ventilation is perfect, and my glasses under neath don’t fog up. I have taken a few falls in these goggles, and the mag lens has never popped off. I definitely recommend these to anyone whose looking for OTG goggles.

Disappointed in the quality of these goggles. For clarity I own 3 other pairs of smith googles, two in the IO line I've purchased within the last 2-5 years. I wear glasses under these, there is less room in these for glasses that the IOx line making them more difficult to take on and off. Half the time they pulled my glasses off with the google. With less room for air flow, these seemed to fog more than the IOx line as well. Yeah, the magnet is nice making it less likely you will scratch the lens when installing it, but otherwise these seem like a downgrade from every other angle. Further, the bright light lens bubbled the first day I wore them distorting the bottom 3rd of my vision. These are most definitely getting returned.

The Mags hold up well. Easy to change lenses. However, they have a sharper curve than the I/OX, or they are just not as wide. The I/OX fit my wide face perfectly. The IO MAG XL.. not so much. There is a gap near the top of my nose bridge that just does not seal unless the googles are adjusted in an uncomfortable way. Which leads to the inside of the lenses regularly fogging. The I/OX fit perfectly from the day 1 out of the box, and the lenses rarely fogged unless there were abnormal conditions (e.g., super warm day, I lifted the goggles and rested them on the helmet..).Really want to give 5 stars. struggled to give 4 stars..

I had been looking for a new goggle that was interchangeable as I wanted a low light lens. I was very interested in the Smith 4D Mag, unfortunately that just wasn't a good fit for my face. A sales clerk recommend the IO Mag XL instead and they didn't lead me astray. I went with the XL for the larger field of view, the reason I wanted the 4D Mag in the first place.I choose the Every Day Red lens as it gives a broad spectrum of conditions. I have only used the googles once and it was a bluebird day. The red lens did well in the bright sunlight. Oddly, I can't wait for a low light day to try out the Yellow Storm lens.I watched a lot of videos before making the decision and feel that the reviews were spot on. This is a great interchangeable lens.
I purchased the first pair for my son about 1 year ago after many attempts to find a pair that worked with his glasses . He loves them so I purchased a pair for myself. I was torn between all of the options available but went with my sons recommendation. Ease of lens replacement-amazing.My sons goggle strap connector broke, when we were at Lake Louis about to ski. called Smith CS, explained what happened, sent a pic, he sent a code to replace. It ended our day before it began, but that alone is worth the Price and comfort knowing they stand behind their product.Overall, I would recommend.
First the good: I like the palm camo design, and the lenses are of good quality. The foam seal material seems comfortable and good at moisture wicking. The swapping of the lenses is easy, and the lighter "STRM BLU SNSR MRR" lens lets in enough light for skiing at night with overhead lights at a resort and has a nice warm color tone. The sleeve is nice to store the goggles and additional lens. They are good enough for my purposes, just wish I had spent less (even with markdown pricing) considering the numerous drawbacks. The bad: These are definitely not what I would call XL size. They are just barely big enough for my maybe slightly above average head, have to tighten the strap quite a bit to get them to seal properly. They are just barely big enough for my maybe slightly above average head, have to tighten the strap quite a bit to get them to seal properly. I think over time the plastic will bend enough that they should be fine, just beware if you know your face is on the wider side. Also not super impressed with their fit over my glasses. They are advertised as OTG, but they definitely put a lot of pressure on my glasses in the temple area due to not being quite wide enough to fit the frames. My normal glasses didn't fit at all and I will have to use a backup pair that is less wide. The plastic clips that secure the lens to the goggle frame seem flimsy and likely to break in the cold if you don't baby them. There were several plastic molding scars and areas where glue was over applied to the foam, making the overall material quality feel low. The gap between your eyes and the lens is pretty big, which is a plus because it allows glasses to fit, but a minus because it means you can really see the goggle frame in at the edges of your vision. It especially blocks vision around the nose forcing you to tip your head down more than usual to see your boots. I saw other reviewers talk about the car dashboard effect, and while the green frames have less of an issue than the yellow, it is still present due to the thick frames.
Let me premise this with saying these goggles work OK, but, I guess???, without a matching Smith helmet, they let in lots of wind to dry your eyes. Now I have to buy a $250 helmet?????How can a goggle that costs hundreds of dollars have inept instructions? This one does. Junk. They explain how to install the lens, but not how to remove. You want to call me incompetent? I am a mechanical engineer with 40 years of experience with 13 patents. Here are the instructions: "begin by pinching nose of frame together and inserting lens into lens groove around nose bridge. Once nose are has been properly secured, lock the frame down around the entire lens ensuring that lens keyholes line up with posts in the lens groove." Once nose are has been properly secured, lock the frame down around the entire lens ensuring that lens keyholes line up with posts in the lens groove." Ok, to pinch the nose requires way more strength than I have. There are no "keyholes" in the lens so worthless. There are no posts in the lens groove so worthless. I can get one side hook to lock in, but cannot get the other side to lock no matter how I bend and try to force it. Also, there are no instructions on how to remove the lens. I ended up just muscling it out, hoping I would not break something. Smith and REI, get real and design correctly and have a real user experience writer tell how to do it,.
Smaller than the IOx, my glasses barely fit into these frames, when I remove the googles, it pulls the glasses off my face with them. Field of view is smaller. I had issues with the lens quality, bubbling up on the first use, the bottom third of the field of view is blurry. Highly disappointed thinking these would be an upgrade over my 5 yr old IOx. The one improvement, the mag lock, it's not any easier to swap lenses, but there is less likelihood of scratching the lenses when swapping them in and out. Not enough benefit to drive a new purchase if you already have a previous smith google.
This review is specifically for the bright yellow Draplin "bumble bee" colorway.I really wanted these to work given the high discount from retail but I had the same problem as the other poor review. You can't tell from the photos on website, but the entire inner frame of the goggles is bright yellow, which causes weird distracting reflections. As the other reviewer called it, like a bad "car dashboard" set of reflections. It was also weird in that the reflections differed between bright sunlight where reflections weren't too bad versus in shade or shadows were the bright yellow reflections were really distracting. It seemed like a safety hazard for someone like me who rides in the trees a lot, so I returned the goggles.
I'm a big Smith fan and wanted to love these. I think the optics are great, field of view is excellent but not best in class. I like the looks too but the fit was not good for me and the lenses scratch super easy. I feel like the frames are too curved and this left a big gap on my nose which allowed air to come in and hit my eye. I thought they would loosen up and be fine but they didn't after 2 whole days of skiing. As far as the magnetic lens, I don't think this is a big plus. You still need to press on 2 levers, one on each side, to release the lens, so not much of a time saver. It's good that it's extra secure, but at that point what's the benefit of magnets? The magnets are very strong and I think they could have done without the extra clips, but some people ... MoreI'm a big Smith fan and wanted to love these. In summary: great looks, optics and field of view but scratch prone lenses, poor fit for some, and magnets don't move the needle in ease of use or time savings. Also quite expensive
