I just bought these googles to replace my Smith IoX Turbofan goggles, which were terrific. These are also excellent. Great looking, fits well with the Smith Nexus helmet, great field of vision and work well over glasses. The anti fogging is good but not quite as much as that provided by the fan in the Turbo Fans. There is no substitute for a fan for anti fogging if you wear glasses under the goggles but these were pretty good at breaking up the fogging quickly.

This first pair I bought had a defect on the frame that prevented the lens from sealing to it. After a long, frustrating process dealing with customer service I was given a warranty discount code that covered the cost of a new pair minus the $30 shipping. FYI shipping is free until you type in the warranty promo code. So that’s a rip off. Then, the replacement pair had the exact same defect. Now I’m stuck starting the process all over with customer service who somehow doesn’t understand the issue this time around and wants me to pay for shipping again. For a $300 pair of goggles, you couldn’t really do much worse.

2 year review. Good visibility, doesn't fog too much and the change is very handy, i have taken tumbles and lens hadn't fallen off. issue I have, the vent hole padding falls out very easily, especially since the frame is very flimsy. The clip at the back of the goggles is an issue. It doesn't fit in certain helmet clips, and if you wear them underneath your helmet you can feel it on the back of your head. My biggest gripe is that it does not come with a hard case. This is something very cheap goggles give you, and for 240 dollars, coming without a hard case is bad. I have two lenses and the goggles plus the lens barely fits in the cloth bag. I would not buy again given this. It's hard to keep your lenses in good shape when there is no hard case to put them in.

The Mags hold up well. Easy to change lenses. However, they have a sharper curve than the I/OX, or they are just not as wide. The I/OX fit my wide face perfectly. The IO MAG XL.. not so much. There is a gap near the top of my nose bridge that just does not seal unless the googles are adjusted in an uncomfortable way. Which leads to the inside of the lenses regularly fogging. The I/OX fit perfectly from the day 1 out of the box, and the lenses rarely fogged unless there were abnormal conditions (e.g., super warm day, I lifted the goggles and rested them on the helmet..).Really want to give 5 stars. struggled to give 4 stars..
I had been looking for a new goggle that was interchangeable as I wanted a low light lens. I was very interested in the Smith 4D Mag, unfortunately that just wasn't a good fit for my face. A sales clerk recommend the IO Mag XL instead and they didn't lead me astray. I went with the XL for the larger field of view, the reason I wanted the 4D Mag in the first place.I choose the Every Day Red lens as it gives a broad spectrum of conditions. I have only used the googles once and it was a bluebird day. The red lens did well in the bright sunlight. Oddly, I can't wait for a low light day to try out the Yellow Storm lens.I watched a lot of videos before making the decision and feel that the reviews were spot on. This is a great interchangeable lens.
I purchased the first pair for my son about 1 year ago after many attempts to find a pair that worked with his glasses . He loves them so I purchased a pair for myself. Ease of lens replacement-amazing.My sons goggle strap connector broke, when we were at Lake Louis about to ski. called Smith CS, explained what happened, sent a pic, he sent a code to replace. It ended our day before it began, but that alone is worth the Price and comfort knowing they stand behind their product.Overall, I would recommend.
Field of vision on these are pretty good, I'm not a fan of the spherical lenses so these were as big as I could get for the cylindrical ones. The lenses change really easily. I got the chromapop everyday red mirror which I would say were a little too transparent for a bluebird day, I had some light eye fatigue. I'd recommend getting the everyday green or violet, or like I'm planning on doing, getting another sun lens down the roadReally recommend these though
It’s a really nice goggle. I especially liked the ease of the lens change and the wide strap. I had hoped to use it with Smith ODS3 progressive lens prescription inserts I have for other Smith goggles. But the lens change system uses up a lot of space above the nose and moves the insert quite a bit up and out. Different ODS3 inserts would need to be made and probably wouldn’t work as well. Non-ODS inserts like Sport-RX are probably the way to go with this goggle. The greater frame material at the nose also tends to block vision in one eye in many cases more than non-mag frames.
It's incredibly disappointing when $240 goggles break before you even get to use them at the hill. I unboxed mine and went to adjusted them on my head. Then one of the clips on my strap broke and they are now unusable. I do believe they will be replaced through the warranty. But still super disappointing that something this expensive broke right out the box. Other than that they seem to be really sick goggles. Just bummed I couldn't try them.
I like the style and the two lenses seem like a good combo of low- and high-vis VLTs. I haven't had any opportunities to test them out in midrange light conditions yet though, so I'm a little nervous that I might end up wanting another lens. Overall though, I really like the ease of swapping the magnetic lenses. Chromapop seems like a decent upgrade from my previous non-Chromapop Smith goggles as well. Every bit of visibility counts out there. One note about the color: it's more khaki than yellow. The pictures led me to believe it would be more yellow. I'm happy enough with it though. It definitely helps that I got them at a fantastic price.
