SodaStream - E-Terra Sparkling Water Maker - Black

This product surprised me. It’s one of those things you see every year and go do I need it? Would I use it? And so far I am having fun. I enjoy lightly flavored sparkling water drinks but hate buying the plastic bottles. I enjoy the ability to customize the flavor level and experiment with premade drink mixes you can purchase or also making my own with fruit slices and things. This doesn’t take up a large amount of counter space which was a bonus for me as I was nervous it might. The bubbling effect light is fun and I like I can also customize the level of carbonation. Installing the cartridge was easy enough without issues and I like there are easy ways to recycle with a credit to get a new one in exchange. The bottle you use itself is fine, nothing crazy and easy enough to pour into other cups or bottles if I want and has been fairly easy to clean. I am not a huge pop drinker so I can’t speak to if it would replace that but I do think this is a great alternative to my flavored waters as sometimes the carbonization makes me drink a little more and I enjoy being able to decide that on a whim. It’s been fun and I’d recommend if you’re also curious in trying.

The instruction booklet inside the box not only walks you through step-by-step, but theres also a video presentation if you're more of a visual learner! The machine is super easy to use, and between the 1L bottle and the Co2 tank, everything fits nice and easy! There are 3 levels of fizz to choose from (im happiest on the middle setting!) I love how easy it is to customize your preferred soda experience! I also appreciate that just adding fruit juice to the carbonated water makes a nice refreshing beverage! While I'm not a huge fan of plain sparkling water, it did taste very similar to some store bought brands. The fun comes with the plentiful variety of flavors that SodaStream sells on their site as well as being available at many retailers. It may take a bit of trial and error to get just the precise level of carbonation for each given flavor to suit your taste, but at a low cost, you will easily be able to find the perfect result for each flavor you desire.

I was really excited to receive this product, and so disappointed when I realized it did not work. After opening I ensured I had all pieces and followed the directions to setup. After removing the back piece, I lifted the lever to insert the canister, and then was unable to push the lever down. The lever was jammed. Bummer but I just well maybe it will work without the back cover. I then followed the directions, filling the water bottle to the line and placing it inside the cradle. After turning on the machine, I pressed the button for the strongest setting. The machine started making noise like it was working, but nothing was happening. After spending about an hour watching YouTube videos trying to figure out how to get the machine to work. Had I received a machine that did work I think I would’ve loved the product so I gave three stars because it does seem like a cool product. Unfortunately mine just didn’t work. 

Complete downgrade

Absolutely failed with this model e terra after one touch fizzy. New model e terra is way worse then one touch fizzy. Upper button are starting to engage immediately after just one touch. And can spray co2 even bottle lock is not in locking position. E terra can spray co2 all over your kitchen. And it's working that way if you only press one time upper button you can't see in darker surroundings. Old model one touch fizzy can not engage if the bottle is not in locking position and you can press any upper button once and all three buttons start to lightning up and you can see how many stars you want your soda to be strong. And after one touch lightning the button you can easy without struggling see which button you want. Homemade soda in less than a minute

I received this product for free from Influenster and SodaStream in exchange for my honest feedback. The Sodastream E-Terra makes wonderful homemade carbonated drinks. It took me less than five minutes to set up right out of the box. It comes with a 60L CO2 cylinder and 1 Liter BPA-free reusable carbonating bottle. The Sodastream has three levels of fizz at the touch of a button. Just fill up the bottle comes with the package and insert into the machine. Then simply press your desired carbonation level and add your flavoring. We added Mountain Dew flavoring as directed on the back and voila! We had a homemade soda. Sleek and easy to use!

I am so happy I got this SodaStream to test and review! I was a little anxious when it first arrived, but after opening the box and reading it the super easy assembly instructions, my anxiety quickly turned into excitement! The CO2 canister was easy to insert and you will be able to make a lot of carbonated water with one canister. One thing to note is that this only carbonates plain water. If you make the mistake of adding flavor syrup to the water beforehand, it will overflow and create a big mess. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and I made my first liter of fizzy water within minutes of opening the box! I’m a beverage enthusiast- I always have to have a drink of some sort, and I typically have 2-3 different ones with me at all times. With the cost of soda having doubled in the last few years, I was ecstatic to receive this machine as well as a 14.9 oz Mountain Dew drink mix! First off, I love how slim and compact this machine is, and that it doesn’t take up much counter space. The black is sleek and will look nice in any kitchen! Inserting the cO2 canister was way more simple than I was anticipating thanks to their “one click” design and the new quick connect canisters. The machine comes with a 1 liter dishwasher safe plastic bottle to make cleanup super easy! I’d love to see a stainless steel option in the future, or maybe even glass as well. The taste is definitely almost identical and I couldn’t believe I was able to recreate it myself at home! Overall I’m thoroughly impressed with this machine and the changes SodaStream has made since the beginning, and I can’t wait to order more flavor options (not the biggest fan of Mountain Dew). The e-Terra is definitely worth checking out if you’re interested in saving money on beverages, or even if you’ve had a SodaStream in the past and are looking to upgrade!

This machine is amazing! So glad I finally bought one!

I originally owned a similar machine over 20 years ago and I enjoyed it, but it was a hassle back then to exchange CO2 and to even find syrups in quantities appropriate for home use. And especially finding name brand soda syrup was very expensive. Now that SodaStream officially sells Pepsi brand flavors, I had to get one. I'm blown away by the upgrades in technology over the machine I owned all those years ago. They're fundamentally the same, but SodaStream has created a beautiful looking product, and the E-Terra is a simple push of a button for the perfect amount of carbonation. The special plastic bottles are really nice, heavy duty, and easy to clean and re-use over and over. We are not a “soda house”, but we have always had flavored seltzer water on hand. The amount of cans of seltzer water that we would use was astronomical. Overall the machine does its job very well. Colder water does retain carbonation much better, and we found ourselves using the Level 3 carbonation option nearly every time. You can run carbonation cycles multiple times to increase carbonation even further. We haven’t used up the co2 canister that the machine came with yet, but looking them up they are about $32 for a replacement and claim to be able to produce 60L of carbonated water. We have really come to love this thing but made it a point to adhere to non “soda” mixes. We like the bubly seltzer water mix - it does taste just like the seltzer water flavors. The only “soda” that we really liked was the starry mix when we used about 1/4 of the recommended quantity. It was actually pretty good. The Pepsi mix was way way too sweet for us and actually made my teeth hurt (as I said, we aren’t a “soda house”). Overall we definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys carbonated water or soda. It can be a healthy alternative to sugary drinks and soda if you stick to just using natural fruit juices to flavor cold, carbonated water versus the sugary, artificial garbage that is the syrup mixes. We like it a lot so far but have yet to see the impact the co2 canisters have on our monthly budget. We did end up buying two extra carbonating bottles which were claimed by other family members, so each one of us that uses the machine has our own bottle. An added bonus is that the kids love to watch the process happen because it’s illuminated by a cool blue led light. One thing I will add is my first few times I was a bit nervous because of never seeing something like this before, so I was afraid it was going to explode or something. However, after using this thing quite a few times now, it’s 100% safe as long as you use it properly and don’t try to carbonate anything other than pure cold water. Highly recommend this device, and if you are considering it, buy one - you won’t regret it!
