Based on previous experience and having taken advice from my local hi fi shop, I opted for the Bravia even though it was slightly more expensive than other comparable brands. I am happy with my purchase. Any criticisms? - I would have preferred a proper instruction book ( call me old fashioned! ). Yes, one can get the online manual but I’d rather have the real thing. I have yet to discover any reference to the second remote control that comes with the set. ( maybe it’s me!?! ). I feel that the feet are not robust enough for the size of the set. On the whole, I am happy with my purchase.

I purchased this TV a few weeks ago as a replacement for our other Sony TV we purchased back in 2013. The TV from 2013 is still perfect, but has been put into our other room. So this new TV has taken centre stage in the living room. I personally don't think you can beat Sony for quality and I probably wouldn't buy a TV from another manufacturer. And this TV is no exception, the picture quality is amazing as you would expect, the sound is cinematic and has made for a suitable replacement for the old TV. The only slight gripe I would have is the fact that there is no scart socket anymore, and it would be nice if the support legs had optional insert points further in towards the centre of the TV as we don't like to wall mount. But those are the only issues. Other than ... MoreI purchased this TV a few weeks ago as a replacement for our other Sony TV we purchased back in 2013. Swapped this for the smaller, 32" Bravia. Sales rep didn't discuss what we needed as well as he could have done. We are not heavy viewers but were very disappointed with that minimum hd tv which was grainy at 32". Sound was muddy (my hearing is OK but not good so I often couldn't follow dialogue). Called shop and asked to swap to this after reading features and reviews of the range. Swap went fine. This is both best picture we've ever had (colours and clarity) and best sound - making stuff I couldn't follow, even with headphones or hearing aids because of low grade audio electronics, into very clear, enjoyable viewing. Twice the price but many times that better due, simply, to being watchable and hearable. And, historically, quite cheap compared to average incomes ... MoreSwapped this for the smaller, 32" Bravia. Awesome TV

This TV is amzmaing, one best LED I've ever owned. Great colour and once set up is quite easy to use. It's got a decent processor in it so using the menu and opening apps is not laggy, 95% of time. And if you have PS5 this TV will automatically set itself to provide the best visuals it can. It'll even atuomamctaly switch over to the PS5 when turning the console on. It got decent speakers in it as well with bass. Well still no where near as good a proper sound setup ir high end headset does job basic TV or movie watch. As built in Bluetooth too se can use headsets with it. Which good late night gaming or movie watching where need to keep the noise down.Over all it great TV we're I only have minor nit picks. However its worth price tag especially if going to use it with PS5. As you can tell Sony built this TV the console in mind.

Easy with a Smartphone
17 January 2023

Replaced the kitchen LG TV with this one as my son’s 14 yo TV died and I gave him the LG because I don’t like the remote for it. We already have a Sony In the lounge that we are very happy with it and the remote is much more user friendly. Bought this yesterday so this is more to do with ease of setup. If you are a smartphone user then set up is quite easy because you can scan QR codes for apps and then put in a password from the screen. It will still take about an hour from start to finish. This is even easier if you already have the apps on your phone. In saying that if you are not a smartphone user or you’re elderly and not necessarily good with setup tech you may need help. Pretty sure without the smartphone it would have taken twice as long. This TV ticks the box of just about everything you would need in a television. It's software is magical in it's ease of use and efficiency (love that GoogleTV). The 4K is still so exciting and crisp to a level that leaves my mouth agape at times - only enhanced by the humble sizing of the TV. The 200hz screen and HDMI 2.1 has you covered for all next gen gaming needs, as well as limiting motion blur on everything that I watch on the screen, making viewing so much easier on the eyes. There's just so much to love here. The only quibbles that I have with this would be that at times the colour can seem a bit washed out by default (may have a look at settings to see if I can fix this). And it seemed this size category of the TV would rarely ever go on special - and when it did, only taking it down a small fraction. Overall marvellous, and I'm so happy that I bought this one.

Good Picture, But....
25 January 2023

I bought this TV to replace a Sony 43 inch TV. The picture and features on this TV are good for what I paid. Google TV is a great advance from the old TV's Android system. Choice of apps is better and it integrates better with my pc & phone for streaming programs. The 4K picture is noticeably better than my old tv too. At the same time of purchase, I also bought a Sony soundbar (HTS100F) as my old sound base had died. The one major problem is that the sound from the sound bar is really low. I have to put the sound level up to 50 to hear it at a decent level. With my old TV & soundbar, I usually had the volume setting at 24. Also, on a few occasions the sound level seems stuck and even reducing it to 0, its still doesn't mute. I'm hoping Sony fixes these issues in a ... MoreI bought this TV to replace a Sony 43 inch TV. The remote really let's this TV down big time. No presets and memory for channel wide selection, meaning that each channel has to be selected; eg for fine tuning settings, sub titles or other changes, each change needs to be individually set instead of a wide or every channe selection. Furthermore, when the TV is off or you change the channel pre selected features are lost ie., not saved and you have to select them again, and set each individually. This is not a good feature for this product for any TV of comparable cost. Most of these features are standard in other TVs. Also HDMI & other audio connections to any sound bar & accessories fail to connect. The supplied instructions are also not sufficiently descriptive and unclear in this area.

Thoughtful design met Crystal Clear Display
2 August 2022

This TV is blowing my mind away. The flat design makes it ideal for a sleek wall mount for my living room. The edge-to-edge display has beautified the living room too - it's gorgeous. And the 85-inch screen gave the wall a run for its size. Being a smart and an android TV changed the game for me. For example, there is an option to connect a TV Box. I realised I do not need any TV box at all. All the LATEST movies in the cinema right now are on this TV without any other connections outside a home Wi-Fi connection. Connecting to Netflix, Google TV, Prime Videos and Disney Plus is seamless. The TV package has 2 Remote controls. This second remote control became the most used after the initial setup. It controls the Soundbar System as well as the TV itself. With My Sony HT-RT4 600W Soundbar System, the Cinema is finally at home. I have looked forward to this moment in a long time. Security-wise, I am totally impressed. With kids around, setting age-related restrictions is as easy as ABC. Individual apps can be restricted, even the entire TV can be locked, and sweetest part is that VIEWING times (hours of view) can be set. I have stopped talking about screen times to my kids (it does not always go unchallenged) but with Sony -X85K, the talks are over. The TV simply goes off after viewing hours has been reached; and when they try to bring it back on, it was locked, case closed! It feels good, haha. Gaming on this TV is an out-of-this world experience, especially with my Sony Inzone 7 headphone. It's just brilliant, with crystal clear details. I was taken aback with the internal memory, which is just 4.4GB. However, I attached an external flash drive, and the TV allowed me to wedge it as an added internal storage (instead of being a removable type). I now have 34.4GB total memory for apps and games. I totally recommend this TV where home security, cinematic experience for homes, and gaming matters.
