I've had my A1 II for a week now but not much chance of using it so far due to the weather and work commitments. However, my initial thoughts.Note: I used the Mark Galer camset with a bit of Colby Brown and my own mods to get me going.I always liked the relatively small size of the Mk1, the Mk2 is larger but more comfortable with the shutter button better placed. The right-hand strap point slightly higher so it no longer rubs on my finger. AI subject recognition is super-fast and sticky. I have it set to auto and it happily switches between dogs, cats and people.Nice to have the focus bracketing - I use it a lot for macro on my A7RV.I've taken a range of landscape and street photographs with the 24-70GM2 but lack of support for RAW in my chosen editor Capture One is holding me back a bit. I could use JPEG or HEIF but happy to wait. ON1 and Affinity Photo 2 do work with the Mk2 raw so will try them.Looking forward to trying BIF when I get the chance.

Much improved body which feels solid and great to hold. State of art auto focus. Pre-capture is a must have upgrade for those of us in wildlife photography.

Coming from an A1 IΓ’β¬β’m enjoying the better ergonomics, better focus system with the ai chip (this really sticks and locks focus much better than my original A1), increased in body stabilization, pre-capture (wish this was added via firmware to the A1 but glad to have it here) and the 4 way tilt screen (this is huge for me shooting my kids and getting very low). After selling my A1 along you have to think if itΓ’β¬β’s worth the price difference to you. For me it was. I think itΓ’β¬β’s the perfect camera for my use.
