I have past experience with the original a6000 as well as the a6400 and use the A7IV and A7R5 for professional use. The 6700 is a great body for the 6000 series cameras. The features, menus, controls, etc. all feel similar to the full size bodies which makes for a seamless experience for those using any of those newer gen cameras. As an A7 series user that wants a much lower cost and compact camera for everyday or travel use that functions much like its full-size counterparts, this is a great option.

This is my favorite camera since the days of film. That's a compliment. With the addition of the new dial I'm able to put the camera on auto iso and adjust the shutter speed and aperture and shoot quickly. In the last 4 years since the last update of this camera they have incrementally improved pretty much all aspects of the camera. I'm very glad they moved the movie button away from where my thumb grips the camera. This prevents me from accidentally hitting it and taking movies which often kept me from catching a photo. Its not a full frame camera but the quality is still quite good especially when combined with editing tools like Lihtroom. I bought this camera just under 3 weeks ago and I have been enjoying its use. It definitely is a significant upgrade from the a6400. Bigger battery, bigger grip, bigger body (albeit still compact) and a new menu system! The AI features are what make this camera very worthwhile. I do a fair amount of wildlife and nature photography. The way the camera locks onto its subject is superb and pretty quick. The image quality has a slight improvement and the general handling of the camera is really good.I am a bit disappointed with some of the overheating issues when recording video, but considering this is a hybrid camera and I shoot more photos than videos, I am not going to complain too much.I do hope Sony continues to support this particular product with firmware ... MoreI bought this camera just under 3 weeks ago and I have been enjoying its use. It is chunkier, which is a bit of a shame, however the benefit is that the grip is much better, and it contains a much higher capacity battery. Video features, particularly high frame rate and Log, are really fantastic. I had been having problems with my Sigma 30mm not wanting to focus, but it seems to work just fine with this body.One more comment, in case anyone at Sony is reading this. I recently got my hands on an old NEX-5N again after many years and it reminded me of how small Sony originally intended to make cameras. All of Sony's modern cameras are giants compared to the original and I know it's because they also need to be video cameras, but here's a crazy idea for you... make a photo-only NEX-5N mark 2 with a 26 megapixel APS-C sensor and any other modern tech you can get in there. I promise they'll sell like hotcakes! Especially if you can make a new pancake lens or two.

Then the a6700 came out and I was excited to check it out. It offered many quality of life improvements, some improvement for photography and greatly improved video that offers everything I need to fully explore and learn about video. After checking out many reviews online, I decided to go for it and I have to say I am happy with my decision and it even exceeded my expectations.To conclude, the a6700 is a powerful APSC camera with a relatively small form factor that feels great to use. It has great performance in photography and very capable in video. The only real drawback I can think of is that it can overheat over longer periods of intensive recording at high resolution, frame rate and bitrate. I personally don’t require this as I am more focused on photography and interested in shorter videos, which makes this camera a great pickup for me.
I've owed several Sony video and stills cameras over the years. While the Sony 'menu system' is a bit daughting at first, it makes sense after you work with it for awhile. The good news, other Sony video/stills 'menus' are similar, so if you go with other Sony products you should have no issues with the 'menu'. I haven't gotten out to use this much, but the few images I've taken have been very good. This camera is strictly for casual family images. I know it's blasphemy, but my still images are Jpegs and my videos are done in Picture Profile (PP) 11, i.e., S-Cinetone video straight from the camera no Post color grading. I have 'tweaked' the settings a little which makes the video a little more punchy.
