It looks great but DO NOT BUY. It states in the instructions it can be fitted to a roof/carport. They supply you with a universal mounting kit, but it’s missing support bars for board clearly drawn and visible in book. These help board from tipping over and are NOT supplied. SPALDING know this and will not supply them. I had to buy support posts and make myself from hardware store. Buy something better from a different brand.

Christmas present for my 12 going on 13 y/o and I quote "this is my favourite thing ever". He has been outside off devices and gaming everyday and often. So that's a win! In this short time he thinks he has improved his shooting from the repetition and can't wait until basketball games/season starts back up.Instructions are generic for every backboard and ideally would be better if each board and fixture i.e. pole, wall, roof had separate instructions. Took sometime to put together and mount to wall. But its done now. Appears sturdy and looks pretty good.

The backboard is solid and seems to be built well. The mounting bracket is less impressive and was not big enough to fit the slope of my roof. Instructions are unclear and it appeared as if the items had been opened before and returned. I have no idea if I received all the parts as the instructions don’t specify lengths for any of the items.

High quality product. Well constructed and durable materials. A great backboard. Came with mounting kit which was essential to me as I wanted to mount to colourbond roof. However, the roof mounting system is designed for American roofs which have plyboard under their roofing material and slightly lower pitch. As a result, mounting to the roof requires a bit of creativity and can be a logistical challenge.
I bought this yesterday. Almost 4 hours to wall mount and the acrylic was cracked and broken in less than an hour. Rebel tried to tell me I had to make a claim through Spalding and they would not refund. Thankfully the supervisor saw sense and sorted it. This is the worst quality product, do not buy - someone will get badly hurt one day. Read the other similar reviews, it’s a common problem!
Perfect teen boy present. We’ve mounted the backboard to our roof so that our son has the whole driveway to make his shots! He couldn’t be more excited. Easy to put together and well priced.
Sturdy, good quality. Kids love it, plenty of use. Very happy with purchase. Rebel staff were very knowledgeable and helpful when discussing various basketball hoop options available for purchase.
Bought this for my sons birthday this year. After reading the install reviews I was very skeptical about how DIY it actually was. It took a trip to bunnings for a few extra things like dyna bolts and washers. Followed the complex instructions and completed it to standard regulatory NBA height.
The included universal mount looks super simple to use and would be if the backboard mounting frame design hadn’t changed. The fixing bars on the rear of the backboard are too wide for the bracket if you assemble it as suggested. Compare old photos to the new design. I’m pretty handy. My advice, throw the manual away and use your common sense to assemble or get a pro to do it. It still needs forcing a bit - not sure how that’ll compromise the structure longer term.Also, the board manual and bracket manual are different - neither work, by the way.Because of these issues, I’d recommend choosing a different manufacturer. Halfway through The process I definitely wish I’d made my own board from scratch - would have taken less time!
