The HS2 brake discs were specially developed for the requirements in the MTB sector. Compared to the previous versions, both the braking performance and the heat dissipation could be improved. In addition, the HS2 discs tend to be less noisy. These properties were achieved through a new profile that improves the traction of the brake pads. The improved heat management is achieved via 6 recessed spokes with a special heat-dissipating coating. In addition, the thickness of the friction ring has been increased from 1.8 mm to 2.0 mm compared to the SRAM Centerline discs. Thanks to these optimizations, the braking performance could be increased by 7% and in the Garda test the window temperature could be reduced by 40 degrees. Rounded edges on the top of the lens minimize the risk of injury and comply with the guidelines of the UCI World Cycling Association. Another advantage is that they make it easier to install the wheel, because the rounded top prevents it from tilting in the brake calliper. I suggest avoiding buying these rotors.I had a pair of Centerline rotors on my YT Capra. I have SRAM Code RSC brakes. Centerline are not good rotors, but at least they work a little bit.The SRAM HS2 rotor has cooked up after the first descent. I am talking about the rear rotor. This issue never happened to me on the Centerline rotors. Centerline are made of better quality steel.I sent the rotor back to SRAM through bike-components and SRAM did not replace the rotor. They said the problem was due to overheating. It was the reason why I sent these rotors to them. Completely disappointed by these rotors and SRAM.In any case, bike-components provided a very good service, as usual. Thank you guys!

Best rotors on the market that I have ever used. I've been riding bikes since 2013 and have been building my own bikes from the frame up since 2014. I've used all brands and styles of rotors and I am done with all that now. These are my go to for any future projects from this point forward. They are thicker and laterally stiffer than other rotors I've used in the past. This means they don't have to be trued as often and don't warp as heat builds up either. They are also quiter. This is a big deal to me as I don't like my bikes to make any noise whatsoever. I like to think of my rides as stealth fighters. When I squeeze the brake levers I've noticed a considerable amount of stopping power coming from these bad boys as well. From SRAM. Have installed these on several bikes now with organic pads (Utah climate) and have had exceptional results. The common sense behind these rotors is nothing more than basic. But the fact that SRAM finally did it makes me happy. I will only be buying these rotors from here on out when it comes to SRAM. Thanks for bringing these in!

I have a YT Izzo, it came with SRAM G2 rsc brakes and centerline rotors. I never liked the rotors because they over heat and get noisy on long decents so when SRAM came out with the new HS2 rotors I had to try them. The thickness is 2mm and the centerline is 1.8mm, so you need to reset the pistons before installing them and new brake pads is good idea to bed in the new rotors. I cleaned my brake pistons and pushed them back into the calipers all the way, install new brake pads and then installed the new rotors. I took the bike out on the street to bed in the the new rotors with the new pads. The new disc does have a slightly noticeable firmer feel at the lever, with more bite, over the old centreline discs, and still retains great modulation (so not grabby or on/off). An improvement for sure over centreline discs!I also upped from 180-200 and once bedded in (essential process) I was able to endo even while sat down without moving my weight, whereas with centreline (180) I had to throw weight forward.So definitely much more power, and better feel - more inital bit/firmness but great modulation. How Guide brakes should have been from the off.Proper bedding in is essential though.
I paired these with my SRAM G2 brakes and definitely a big difference to the SRAM centerline rotors. Feels like having fresh brake pads installed as I get more bite when I pull on the lever. I thought the thicker rotor may rub but not an issue for me. Great upgrade!
Bought two rotors. One was fine, the other wasn't uniformly thick. At constant braking pressure, the brakes grab more firmly on about 1/3 of the rotor, causing the bike to lurch. It's noticeable enough to be unnerving in steep, technical sections (bad rotor was on front). I was very careful in the bedding-in process but thought maybe I screwed it up so I removed the rotor and sanded/cleaned it. Reinstalled and experienced the same problem.So, I made a warranty return and installed a replacement. Same exact problem right out of the box, though not as noticeable. May just move it to the rear so it's not so noticeable but don't think I'll ever buy these again.
They're beautiful! They look much nicer than the Magura Storm HC's that they replaced. It's the dead of winter, so not much riding has been going on. They're mounted, aligned, and I've bedded the pads to the HS2. After about 35 +/- braking runs, the pads are bedded nicely and the rotors have a nice color change to the braking surface. Power is fantastic, modulation is great, no warping, and time will tell how long they last. I assume a long time. I’ve used sram center line rotors for a couple years now and the performance was great but once they get overheated you end up with a couple issues. Chatter and vibration.I decided to try the HS2 and see how they hold up. Performance is right there with centerline. Brake feel and stopping power are exactly what I’m used to. The big improvement is heat dissipation. I have yet to overheat them and I’m taking longer runs without having to stop and let them cool down. Very happy with the new design, way to go Sram!
So far I've had four of these, all 200mm. Three of the four have had uneven thickness, so the brakes pulse heavily (to the point where the tire will start to lose traction once per revolution under moderate braking).The rotor that doesn't have this issue feels great; it has a small amount more bite (barely perceptible) than a Centerline rotor, and doesn't overheat as quickly.Once SRAM fixes their quality control issues, I have no doubt that these will be great rotors.
