Had to return a different set of arms, but this fit my needs just perfectly! The ability to move the monitors side to side without adjusting height is crucial for any multi-monitor setup. This is one of the only ones I've seen on Home Essentials Direct that fit the bill. They hold my 24" and 23" monitors just fine. The arms feel well built, and I'm surprised at how much I appreciate the ability to move both monitors simultaneously with the handle attachment. Honestly thought I'd just not connect it, but I'm getting use out of it.

I bought this monitor mount for two reasons: 1) it says it can be flat against a wall 2) the monitors move together. Added bonus in that it says it’s for IT personnel. And while I am not IT I work at my computer all day every day for my job. It was easy to assemble, took about thirty minutes and that was even with fine tuning of screen positioning. It is remarkably flat against my wall (way more than the previous monitor mount I was using). The tension was easy to adjust for screens to move freely up and down so it can be used from a standing position easier and because they move together I don’t need to fidget with my screens once in position. The screens don’t droop and the mount itself is sturdy. Well worth the extra money. Highly satisfied with this purchase.

I like this StarTech dual monitor stand, or I would, if it didn't have one fatal flaw: the stand does not permit sufficient height adjustment. On the plus side, the metal arms have cable guides underneath, bringing the dream of a cable free workspace closer to reality. It has two USB pass-through ports (not a hub, but USB extensions, so each port on the base has a cord that must to be plugged into its own port on the computer), and separate headphone and microphone pass-through ports. These ports allow you to plug in USB drives, headphones, and microphones conveniently without having to reach around your desktop. These ports allow you to plug in USB drives, headphones, and microphones conveniently without having to reach around your desktop. Set up is simplified because each monitor needs to be screwed onto a standard VESA mounting plate that can be detached from the arms, thus making the whole contraption much easier to assemble than fixed mounting plates would allow. Each arm also has three joints: the base, an elbow, and the mounting clip, which even has a tilt adjustment. The down side of this monitor stand is that the arm piece from the elbow to the monitor mount has some sort of hydraulic system to return the monitor to its maximum height if it is pushed to a lower height. It is so good at is job, that there needs to be a way locking them at a lower height, but there is not such mechanism that I can find, even in the manual, Overall, this is a very nice monitor stand and I do really like it, but because I cannot lower the monitors to a comfortable viewing position and keep them there, I find it useable.
I went for one of the highest price monitor arms because I wanted quality and I got it. This things is really sturdy and can hold some big monitors. I haven't set up the USB connectors on the base because I will be moving onto a new desk but they seem really useful. I've been wanting monitor arms for years and I'm finding it amazing.
I've done a thorough research on monitor ARMs and this one came out to be the most favorable factoring in: price, versatility, positive reviews that confirm my requirements: Macbook pro & Thunderbolt Display. There were a few major surprises: a) i've had to purchase the Apple Adaptor separately. Makes total sense and i felt a bit stupid for missing this given my research. All in all, they could easily make this detail more obvious rather than somehow obfuscating this important detail b) this ARM is not able to lift up & hold 27" Thunderbolt Display as mine, after going through bunch of BS and several days of waiting etc., isn't holding its set height and keeps flipping down on its face. I did decide to keep this arm simply because i'll be upgrading my monitor later on for UltraWide 4K..besides i don't really have luxury of time to go through the entire process all over again. Home Essentials Direct Reviews are usually great and i can make purchases more confidently but this one didn't really come up to that standard.
The StarTech Dual Monitor Mount with Built-in USB and Audio Pass-Through is a slick mount. I've installed and used many different mounts over the years and this is amount the best. It is also quality made and well thought out, something that StarTech has been doing with so many of their products. The install was fairly simple and on par with other monitor arms/mounts that I've experienced. Fairly easy and a project that will likely take you about twenty minutes. Possibly thirty if you have never done it before. The audio and USB pass-through is pretty neat, however, I wish the ports were a little more recessed to help hide the connections. These are holding my Samsung 28" monitors perfectly. They are strong and allow the movement I desire. One note is that I was hoping to have my monitors lifted off of my desk quite a bit, but because the VESA mount on the monitors is not centered, and is towards the top of the monitor, my monitors ended up being at the same height as before. By flipping them upside down, I have gained the height, but have to deal with issues such as viewing the monitor at angles for which viewing wasn't intended. Ultimately, the setup works, but I wanted to mention this in case someone had the same plan. This comes with the connector/clamp as shown in the picture, but also a second option for mounting. I'm not clear of how that works though.
This dual monitor mount is one heavy-duty assembly. Some assembly is required for the desk mount, but it was very intuitive and easy with the supplied tools. This unit requires about a 2-1/2" clearance underneath the back of the desktop so the clamps have deep enough place to land, and it works best if the back side of the desktop is square. The instructions say it will accommodate 30" monitors up to 15 pounds each, so it's fully capable of handling my 27", 9.7 pound monitor. The arms are well engineered to have tension adjustments at most of the joints. One thing the instructions didn't mention is that the mounting brackets that attach to the monitors are directional. Cable routing is clean as long as your cables are long enough to reach your computer. There are cheaper solutions available, but this unit seemed well designed and robust, definitely upper end.
This is the right arm for small monitor . It is light weighted and easy to install. A small problem is that the way to change the gas spring tension is diffident than what it shows from seller’s user manual
