Beautifully Proportioned Pot, Rusty Knob

The proportions of this pot make it beautiful to look at, but ultimately a pot is meant to be used not just looked at. The pot is a nice weight for its size with slightly undersized handles. If you buy this, take care when moving the hot pot with non grippy pot holders - there isn't much handle to grab hold of. The pot heats evenly and like all Staub pots holds the heat really well.I had two issues with my delivery. The first pot had an eye catching defect in the enamel on the side of the pot that was under a manufacturer's label. The replacement pot I received was fine. The second pot has an issue (right out of the box) with its stainless steel knob. The unused knob is rusted on the threaded part. I only discovered this because I purchased a Staub rabbit replacement knob to replace the standard stainless steel knob on the pot. I'm not using the rusted knob, but it could be an issue if you had a rusty knob and the rust creeped in under the enamel into the cast iron on the lid of the pot. This is a faulty component on an otherwise very nice pot.

Capital One & WS Engage In False Promotions

I applied for a WS card, they approved my application, mailed my card, allowed me to activate it, allowed me to utilize the card, received the purchased item, discarded the packaging of the purchased items, and used the item; before they closed my account and refused to give me the reward points. I have reported Capital1 to CFPB. I intend on contesting their report to the credit Bureau, and we would need to go to court to settle this matter. The photo in this review is inaccurate, the email that I received had the correct pic of the Matt Black pot.

Cast Iron at WS

all Staub is normally good quality. I returned a cast iron pumpkin that was sloppily sprayed with the exterior enamel. Very Disappointing. The 3.75 Demi French Oven was not available in my Cherry color. I'm not at all fond of the colors WS stocks. I want food colors. Not blue, not grey. Le Creuset does not pass prop 65 requirements to be contaminant free. No prop 65 warnings are posted in store or online. WS seems to be going all out with Le Creuset, which I would never buy for health reasons. Staub openly posts guarantees of no lead or cadmium in their products. I much prefer the Staub brand for this reason. I have noticed the Stuab displays shrinking in WS stores. I don't need WS without the Staub brand.

Cute little Petite French Oven

First of all, I must say that the blue color is beautiful. Fit and finish are definitely on par with Le Creuset. I mainly purchased it to make rice. I do have a Zojirushi induction rice cooker, but sometimes I like to switch making rice the old-fashioned way, on the stove. However, it did take me several attempts to get it right. I normally use a 1:2 ratio / 20 min for my jasmine rice, which is exactly what the label/instructions say, and it's also what works for my electric cooker. I use the same ratio in a Dansk 2QT pan.However, with the Staub the rice turned out too wet. It took me several tries, but eventually I stumbled on the sweet spot of 1:1.5 / 20 min. I'm obsessed

I am new to Staub but quickly getting addicted. This little dutch oven is so perfect for rice. I used for the first time last night and I was so excited to use. I think it will take me a few more times before I can perfect it, but I still impressed with how the rice came out. Definitely fluffiest rice I have ever made. I little dry so I think I just simmered it on too high of heat for a bit too long but was still impressed with the results. Cannot wait to keep experimenting and purchase more pieces.

Just the right size for 1 - 2 people

This is a versatile little French Oven. An issue with poor quality of the finish on the lid of the first one I ordered - so check when you open the box. However, returning / exchanging for another was made easy by the Williams Sonoma salesperson in my local store. The size of the oven is perfect for portions of rice, soup, etc. for 1-2 people. Easy cleanup. I love it!

Staub is the apex cookware creator

I bought this in color LaMer, which is mesmerizing. Ever changing with the light, is it blue or green? Sometimes both, then neither, just stunning. Staub quality is unmatched, true non-stick surface but not fussy, it’s meant for daily use. This tiny little Demi is perfect for whatever you need to cook in small amounts. I love it and the entire Staub cookware line is perfect for someone just starting to cook, it’s very forgiving and the quality will lessen the frustration of over, under or burnt food. Newbie or veteran, Staub makes cooking joyful, not a chore.

Sturdy product but RUSTS

Despite that Staub is known for the beauty and quality of their products, this product has a couple of cons. First, it's a beautifully made pot, very sturdy, and the style of the lid does indeed allow moisture to drip back to the pot.However, the handles are very small and gets hot once you take it off the stove. It's hard to grab the handles to pour out the boiled water or hot liquid.Also, my biggest complaint is I got the one with the stainless steel knob and it RUSTS after 2 months of use (see picture)! I've only handwashed it with a soft sponge and always lay it on the drying mat before storing it. Paid full price and I expected better from a brand to claim that their products are one of the best.You might think that the rust is only on the underside of the knob and no one will see it, but the rust actually SPREADS all the way down the knob and onto the enamel coating of the lid which is how I noticed it and unscrewed the knob to discover what was underneath the knob. The picture shows the rust only after I soaked it in vinegar for a day so it's actually worse than what the picture shows. Staub probably knows this occurs which is why they sell the knobs separately and make you spend more on their already expensive products.

This gets a lot of use

Minus 1 star for the little chip and rust on the side of my lid! It showed up after 1 month of use! Wish it were more durable for the amount I paid for this! So sad!!!Other than that, I love this pot. I thought I bought it for making a seperate texture of rice for my young kids, but I ended up using this for not just rice for kids, but steel cut oatmeal, ramen, reheating leftovers. I use this a lot and it cleans up really easily. I can cook 2 cups of rice in here or 1/2 cup rice with meat and veggies on top.The only thing about the oatmeal is it boils soooo fast. Like 0 to boil in 1 second and the lid is so heavy, that when it bubbles, it doesn't shake or make any noises, until it's too late!
