Doesn't remove any screws. Got ripped off. This product is absolutely garbage. Please save your money.

I wish I had read the other reviews before I bought this. The bit snapped on first use with minimal pressure. Terrible quality. Bunnings should take these off the shelves until Sutton addresses the quality issues.

I broke a 4mm bolt in a bike stem face plate. After a bunch of YouTube research I knew the main thing for this process would be patience. The other reviews are correct. The bit can snap easy. So take it super slow drilling your pilot hole. Keep it straight (drill press would be ideal). Got there in the end. Don’t write this product off. Give it a go, but always prepare and don’t rush.

After reading all the reviews, I was a bit worried, but watched a YouTube video of how to do it. Did it very carefully, applying oil as I was drilling the hole bit by bit (I used olive oil and cotton buds to apply oil to help drill the hole smoothly), and I made a deep enough hole. Then I used the extractor tool, and voila! The broken screw came out beautifully. It really was Easy Out for me!
Useless. Do yourself a favour and buy a cheap 6 piece screw extractor such as a one made by DURUM as an example. They are not going to snap even if you tried to make it. Just drill a pilot hole with a normal screw bit in forward motion and then use one of the screw extractors in reverse. This one made by SUTTON and other brands like it are complete junk that will snap and cause more pain.
Extracting screws is delicate, frustrating work. There's no silver bullet but I found this to be more effective than the cheaper models. Crucially, its smaller than the smallest one that comes in the set of 5, so it's good for small screws. It was tough enough for the job I was doing and didn't snap under pressure. Mixed success, depending on the difficulty of the job.
Bought this for stripped screws on the bottom of a new pair of skates. So you’d assume I didn’t want to make any mistakes. As others said , you need to drill the pilot hole straight and really take your time. Drill a bit and let it cool. The extractor needs its own tune to start to grip the hole as you turn it in reverse. It needs to be done by hand(no drill) and you’d be better if buying the tap handle for it as I used pliers and it was a tad difficult. But it worked with some patience.
It broke. I returned it to Bunnings got another one, it broke too. The 2mm version is simply too thing for it to be of any use when drilling into metal.
I overtightened a oil filter cover bolt (M5 torx/hex) on my motorbike halfway through an oil change. Sheared the bolt. After a fair bit of research on you tube I purchased this extractor and also a self centring drill bit to help drill the pilot hole. The first key to this is having lots of patience to ensure you get a good pilot hole and ensure your are not getting too close to the outer edge thread. I didn’t quite get the centre, but I was close enough. They recommend using a hand tool to drive the extractor in but I used my cordless drill, spinning extra slow and in reverse (when drilling extractor bit in). After a lot of slow drilling I was able to extract the sheared bolt! This does work if you are patient. Here's what I did:1. On low speed, drill your hole into the screw perfectly down its center-line using the provided drill bit. Keep the drill bit lubricated (I used cooking oil) and periodically clean out the drill hole using WD40 and a toothpick so the hole is as smooth as possible.2. Once the hole is deep enough, slowly turn the screw extractor counter clockwise into the hole using some pliers, until it bites. If it doesn't bite, make sure the hole is clean and drill deeper.3. Once it bites, continue turning the screw extractor (and also the screw) until it can longer be turned using your pliers. Then carefully tighten your drill onto the screw extractor and pulse it at low speed counter clockwise to remove the screw. If you ... MoreThis does work if you are patient. Here's what I did:1.
