I bought this as a replacement for a 20-year-old Hsu sub. This is used in a 7.1 system in a room a bit bigger than the published specs the SVS was designed to handle. Plus, this model is better suited for a 2-channel audio system, so I was not certain how well it would work for surround. So far, very pleased as it outperforms the Hsu. I'm still adjusting it and the downloadable remote works great for making these adjustments. I first heard about the SVS brand at the 4th Annual Florida International Audio Expo in Tampa in February 2023. Highly recommended!

Impressive bass and more than I bargained for. Read a lot of reviews of the SB vs. PB-1000 and most said the ported version was better for movies, which is the majority of my use, but the space I wanted the subwoofer in wouldn't fit the ported size. So I got the seald one and figured it might not be perfect sound wise but aesthetically better, but it's more than enough for my use and room! The app to adjust it with however could use some work. It does connect but it's not really obvious that it is and make for a bunch of unnecessary trouble shooting. When up and running it makes it real easy to adjust to your liking however. Which in the real world with real world ears (especially for deep bas...) basically is just volume... Another thing that would be an ... MoreImpressive bass and more than I bargained for. Some people get bugged out about lights in their 'cinema' space so maybe an reversed light would be the way to go? Red when in stand-by that goes out when on.

Bought this on 16th January, 2023 from the Newcastle Upon Tyne store to replace an ageing REL Quake which is now in our conservatory connected to a Denon M38 mini system. The SVS was left in its 'just left the factory' settings but the difference it made was instantly noticeable and promised huge potential as well as threatening to displace wall decorations!I have left this review until now as I have recently had my 7.1.4 system professionally calibrated as the Denon 6700 amp needed to be set up properly as well. This type of electronic 'witchcraft' is outside my wheelhouse so was more than happy to have someone I know and trust to calibrate it all.The sound is absolutely incredible for a system that is based in what is first and foremost our lounge and ... This sub is very much an integral part of that surround system and its presence is abundantly apparent no matter what the source material which in our case is predominantly movies all on physical discs, whether that be 4K UHDs, Blu-rays of DVDs, and OTA TV channels with occasional 'catch-up' TV programmes we may have missed. The bass itself is crisp, clean and sounds perfectly positioned whatever it is we are watching and listening to, even CDs, the pace and timing are hugely impressive.I have no hesitation recommending this product to anyone thinking of buying an extremely capable and very reasonably priced subwoofer especially if the intended use is to be in a lounge rather than a dedicated cinema room where more than one subwoofer may be preferable. Not that this sub is left wanting at all and comfortably 'fills' our lounge which is approx. 12ft by 26ft overall.

It has taken me a long time to dip my toe into the water of sub woofers, but I finally took the plunge and I am not disappointed. I am using the sub with a pair of Wharfedale Linton Heritage speakers which I use mostly for two channel audio music. I really like the app that communicates with the sub, this makes adjustments really straightforward and convenient. It did not take very long to adjust the sub settings so that it integrates with the Lintons seamlessly. The improvements to the bass across the spectrum (not just deep bass) is really noticeable and the listening experience is very much enhanced. I can't imagine that I will go back to listening without a sub.
I am incredibly pleased with the quality of bass this adds in such a compact cabinet. No, this is not a ported 18 with thousands of watts of amplification. It also costs a fraction of the price and takes up a fraction of the space. I am not sure why others have complained of low output. The sub is more than capable of pressurizing a small room or providing reasonable bass extension in a medium room. Keep in mind that the default level is -10 db on the sub itself, which can be adjusted on the back panel or more easily through the SVS app. Always recalibrate your system when changing components. If your receiver's auto calibration set the sub out to -10 db based on your previous sub and then you switch it out for a new sub that is itself set to -10db, of course you ... Hope this helps. This is a great compact subwoofer for smaller / non-open-floorplan rooms. Just remember to calibrate your systems and such.
I believe an SVS sub simply cannot be beaten for home theatre, especially when you factor in the price!! It zooms, whooshes and roars around the room cohesively with effortless power and intelligence. I've never heard any other sub in a demo room that can compare and I've owned a Rel t9i and you'd barely even know that thing was there. For music the most important thing is the EQ that comes with this sub which I think all should have, as no one wants one that doesn't integrate and sound seamless with the rest of their system. With this sub you can do that, and the bass sounds natural, deep and lovely. Saves the day for those of us that don't have a set aside room and the know how and ear for dialing in and placing a subwoofer. I just played around with the EQ for a ... I just played around with the EQ for a few hours, no real clue of what I was doing and eventually got there. Deano is a bit of a master when it comes to subs which I think is awesome as nothing beats having great low end in your system. Thanks Rapallo!!
Purchased this SVS sub to replace a ageing REL subwoofer. This well built sealed sub has speed.bass extension & power from a cabinet barely bigger than the 12 inch driver enclosed within. It has three input level options, hilevel(speaker),lolevel(preamp etc) & lfe(av processor etc)As well as controls on the rear it also has an app based control(bluetooth) option so you can make adjustments from your iphone when you have downloaded the free SVS app. This saves grovelling on the floor & trying to make adjustments! This is a great feature & you can also tailor the subs response to its room enviroment!!!Why dont more sub manufactures offer this facility???
So I bought this to replace my old Yamaha yst-sw205. Not that there was anything too wrong with....its was just time for a change after about 25years or so!!. So I deliberated for a while over wha to buy. Dali sub to match my front speakers? Rel? Klipsch? SVS?. In the end it came down to 3 choices for me. The Rel HT 1003 mk ll, the Rel T/7x or this SVS SB-1000 pro. I read and watched numerous reviews. Not too many demo rooms these days and even if you find one oyu habebthe complications of having it set uonwith exactly your equipment. And even if you manage that any demo room is missing the most important ingredient- your room. So I was looking beyond just what it would sound like. I figured the final 3 choices would all do pretty much the same job. What drew me to the SVS sb-1000 pro was the app. The ability to control and tweak the subwoofer from you seating position is a must have in my opinion. Yes you have some basic control with an AV receiver but you can't control it in the same way as the app. Its so easy to blend it in to the front speakers so it sounds loke the bass is coming from them - which is always the goal. So it's now all set up and I have to say its one impressive bit of kit. Compared to my old sub you can immediately tell the SVS is tighter and has more control with both music and film. It opens the soundstage and just fills out the sound. My room is approximately 12 feet by 16 feet and the SVS sound completely fills it. No need for the ported version, SVS pb-1000 pro, in a room this size. And personally I believe a sealed sub is better for music anyhow. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. And it's an unobtrusive bit of kit. The Yamaha yst-sw205 was only a 8 inch sub but it was a fairly tall box and the SVS just fit better visually into my system.
I needed a sub woofer to perform a very difficult feat - combine with stand mounted Kandy TR5's and Kandy k2 amp, k3 DAC and Cambridge CXC to provide music for both music and movies. The Tr5's are really engaging, simply lovely to spend hours listening to but they are just a little lacking in deep base and particularly for movies. However they are very musical, detailed and pretty fast so i needed a sub to complement them and to be able to keep up. No mean feat. I was almost put off by one online review that suggested the SVS would not be suitable for music, only movies. So i dug a little deeper and read numerous reviews. So glad i did. This sub does exactly what i wanted it to. It complements the Tr5's perfectly. It sounds cohesive and really well balanced ... I previously had a 20-year-old Tannoy Mercury mX -SUB 10 as a component of a Tannoy Mercury mX2 bookshelf / mXC center 5.1 system. For those who may not have heard of Tannoy they are a very high-quality UK/Scotland company whose speakers are not commonly available in Australia these days. The sub would have cost around $1000 in today’s money. It had a 10” driver, 75w RMS amp, with a frequency range of 35hz to 150hz. I have a 21-year-old Yamaha receiver set to send all frequencies below 90hz to the subwoofer. The subwoofer did a reasonable job but lacked low end and perhaps sounded a bit removed from the overall sound. The subwoofer did a reasonable job but lacked low end and perhaps sounded a bit removed from the overall sound. I have been researching potential replacements for many years and the release of the SVS SB-1000 Pro seamed to tick all the boxes to suit my needs: powerful for the average listener/room size, 20hz +-3db bottom end, 12” driver packed into a compact wife/partner friendly box not much different in size to the mX -SUB 10, very simple/unobtrusive appearance with curved corners and my personal choice of black gloss. I selected the SB-1000 over the PB-1000 as music is my priority. I have many Blu Ray disks of music concerts e.g., Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Santana etc. I have found that this sub integrates seamlessly with the other speakers, allows me to hear the bottom end clearly, tightly, with fast response and, I assume, sounds like it was intended to sound by the sound engineers. The room is a combination lounge/TV room/dining room and it is not all that small but this sub is capable of more volume than I would ever need. While I am not a movie fanatic, I have tried out the sub with a number of Star Wars Blu Ray disks and, to me, it sounds amazing, shaking the room with the impact of the lower frequency sound effects. If you are mainly interested in movies the PB-1000 must sound even more amazing. I have read many reviews on the best subwoofers for 2021 and, depending on the price range and category, SVS often get a very high if not the best rankings. I would have to agree with one comprehensive review that suggested that, if this sub suits your room size and music and to a lesser degree movies are your priority then, this is simply the best subwoofer you can get for the money. If movies are your priority, I would assume the PB-1000 would also be as highly rated.
