I bought the SB-1000 last November. It was the first time I’ve owned a subwoofer in over 20 years ago and to say that it exceeded my expectations is an understatement. I had always hesitated to get one because of the boomy nature of what I thought bass was like. But a few months with the SB-1000 and I discovered that bass could be crips, clear, and really beautiful.Fast forward to a few weeks when the SB-1000 Pro was announced. I was excited, but also a bit saddened that a new version came out so quickly to my purchase. But after a brief email exchange with customer service, I was beyond delighted that switching up to the new version would be so seamless. I’d read about the world class customer service, but it really took me aback experiencing it. It’s made me a ... MoreI bought the SB-1000 last November. I’d read about the world class customer service, but it really took me aback experiencing it. It’s made me a customer for life. The SB-1000 Pro is such an impressive leap. It’s not to discount how great I thought the SB-1000 was, but with the SB-1000 Pro, it’s everything that one was plus everything just sounds cleaner, more realistic, and music/movies fill my room more than I thought possible. And another main difference is a I feel like you really feel the bass more than the SB-1000. Then the convenience and immediate response of the app is very welcome as well. Dialing in the settings from the comfort of your listening position is just great. Aesthetically it looks great and I like that there’s no longer a light in front, but space wise, it feels the same size.Even if I had to purchase the SB-1000 Pro outright it would be worth the upgrade.

I was very happy with my new audio system upgrades. I had just purchased a Hegel H390 and a pair of KEF LS 50 META's fed by matching digital music sources. My listening room is 15x20, acoustically neutral with a low ceiling and 1 large draped window. When listening alone at energetic volumes the system was exactly what I had hoped for. When listening at conversation levels, the system was clean, clear, transparent and enjoyable. My old ears, however, felt there was something missing. Back in the day this would have been rectified through the use of the good old fashion loudness button on the amp. Alas, high-end audio has moved away from this sort of thing. I could not find any reason do more research or spend more money. SVS tech support was responsive and well, "supportive" making my selection even easier. My sub arrived promptly, in perfect condition with my ordered accessories. Connection was incredibly simple and I was auditioning my new sub in about 10 minutes including installing the isolating feet. The performance improvement in my high quality system was immediately apparent and far exceeded the price of the SB-1000 Pro! Not only was the bottom end restored to my music at low listening levels, but the spatial openness and soundstage expansion was stunning. Additionally, SVS has followed up with me to make sure I am totally satisfied with my purchase. They even sent me a detailed advisory on how to maximize the performance and my enjoyment of their product. I cannot say enough good things about the company, their product, and their customer care. I highly recommend SVS and will be a customer for life.

This type of electronic 'witchcraft' is outside my wheelhouse so was more than happy to have someone I know and trust to calibrate it all.The sound is absolutely incredible for a system that is based in what is first and foremost our lounge and secondly our 'cinema room'. This sub is very much an integral part of that surround system and its presence is abundantly apparent no matter what the source material which in our case is predominantly movies all on physical discs, whether that be 4K UHDs, Blu-rays of DVDs, and OTA TV channels with occasional 'catch-up' TV programmes we may have missed. The bass itself is crisp, clean and sounds perfectly positioned whatever it is we are watching and listening to, even CDs, the pace and timing are hugely impressive.I have no hesitation recommending this product to anyone thinking of buying an extremely capable and very reasonably priced subwoofer especially if the intended use is to be in a lounge rather than a dedicated cinema room where more than one subwoofer may be preferable. Not that this sub is left wanting at all and comfortably 'fills' our lounge which is approx. 12ft by 26ft overall.

I own a fairly high-end surround sound system that I mostly use for listening to classical music. I purchased the SVS unit when my previous subwoofer started having problems. With the new subwoofer, I definitely hear more deep bass when the music calls for it (e.g., various symphonic pieces or deep organ notes). It was extremely easy to set up and I love the fact that I can control the unit's setting from my phone. Highly recommended.
I used to be a DIY sub builder in my younger years and have experimented with many different designs from ported, bandpass, sealed, and passive radiator. Needless to say, it wasn't until I built the sealed sub for my car audio system that I really grew to appreciate sealed subs and the accuracy they provide. Note to mention they can play any genre of music if done right. I arrived at SVS 20+ years later and after buying several ported units for my home that left me dissatisfied. I had been eyeballing the SVS sub lineup for quite some time and always wondered if I spend just a little bit more would I be happy? Needless to say that is a definite YES! MoreI used to be a DIY sub builder in my younger years and have experimented with many different designs from ported, bandpass, sealed, and passive radiator. I wanted something in a small form factor that would fit where my Yamaha 8" subs were currently (my other 12" subs would not fit), but provide more output with the same accuracy. In came one SB 1000 pro and it sounded pretty good, but I could tell there were a few NULLS in the room just moving seat to seat. So my loving wife said well you have always run duals why don't you buy another one and see if that resolves the issue and besides it looks odd with one sub. Um OK, don't have to tell me twice! So I purchased a second SB 1000 Pro and now have one on each side of the media center on the front wall in a large room. How do they sound? Freaking awesome! I did a few sessions with REW and some minor DSP tweaks and now they are pretty darn flat from 20hz to 100hz where they roll off for the crossover. Do they have any output? Um yes! I'm am rattling the plates in the cupboard at 25hz and 35feet away. Oh, this is with the Soundpath Isolation feet installed as well! I can assure you that the sub is worth the $500 entry fee and if you don't like it SVS will take care of you!
I just purchased my first SVS product the SB-1000 Pro Subwoofer and I am more than happy with this product. Especially for $500, this Sub is an excellent performer with a high quality, no compromise build at this price point. The performance is amazing reaching into deep zone with ease in a mid sized room. I find the bass really clean, quick and nuanced with appropriate amounts of no bloated pressurization. For me, this is just perfect for my two channel system consisting of a Rotel RA-972 Integrated amp and very rare set of vintage Spectrum 108A bookshelf speakers. My only nit pick is I prefer knob/dials to adjust volume and low pass frequency as opposed to the up and down buttons. That's just my preference. The buttons work fine. I have yet to play with the SVS App on my phone. I understand there's a lot of different metrics and controls to play with on the App and think it wonderful that SVS is including this feature at this price point. Another thing to note, when I first connected everything and played some music, the bass was overwhelming. The Sub came from the factory with the volume at max level....too much of a good thing I guess. So I used the buttons on the back of the Sub to lower the volume level to match my speakers and adjusted the low pass filter as instructed in the quick setup guide and things really got dialed into perfection. This Sub is quality build and performance for a great price. The SVS SB-1000 Pro is a Substantial Value! I highly recommend this product if you are in the market for a under $500 Subwoofer.
I needed a sub woofer to perform a very difficult feat - combine with stand mounted Kandy TR5's and Kandy k2 amp, k3 DAC and Cambridge CXC to provide music for both music and movies. The Tr5's are really engaging, simply lovely to spend hours listening to but they are just a little lacking in deep base and particularly for movies. However they are very musical, detailed and pretty fast so i needed a sub to complement them and to be able to keep up. No mean feat. I was almost put off by one online review that suggested the SVS would not be suitable for music, only movies. So i dug a little deeper and read numerous reviews. So glad i did. This sub does exactly what i wanted it to. It complements the Tr5's perfectly. It sounds cohesive and really well balanced ... I previously had a 20-year-old Tannoy Mercury mX -SUB 10 as a component of a Tannoy Mercury mX2 bookshelf / mXC center 5.1 system. For those who may not have heard of Tannoy they are a very high-quality UK/Scotland company whose speakers are not commonly available in Australia these days. The sub would have cost around $1000 in today’s money. It had a 10” driver, 75w RMS amp, with a frequency range of 35hz to 150hz. I have a 21-year-old Yamaha receiver set to send all frequencies below 90hz to the subwoofer. The subwoofer did a reasonable job but lacked low end and perhaps sounded a bit removed from the overall sound. I have been researching potential replacements for many years and the release of the SVS SB-1000 Pro seamed to tick all the boxes to suit my needs: ... The subwoofer did a reasonable job but lacked low end and perhaps sounded a bit removed from the overall sound. I have been researching potential replacements for many years and the release of the SVS SB-1000 Pro seamed to tick all the boxes to suit my needs: powerful for the average listener/room size, 20hz +-3db bottom end, 12” driver packed into a compact wife/partner friendly box not much different in size to the mX -SUB 10, very simple/unobtrusive appearance with curved corners and my personal choice of black gloss. I selected the SB-1000 over the PB-1000 as music is my priority. I have many Blu Ray disks of music concerts e.g., Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Santana etc. I have found that this sub integrates seamlessly with the other speakers, allows me to hear the bottom end clearly, tightly, with fast response and, I assume, sounds like it was intended to sound by the sound engineers. The room is a combination lounge/TV room/dining room and it is not all that small but this sub is capable of more volume than I would ever need. While I am not a movie fanatic, I have tried out the sub with a number of Star Wars Blu Ray disks and, to me, it sounds amazing, shaking the room with the impact of the lower frequency sound effects. If you are mainly interested in movies the PB-1000 must sound even more amazing. I have read many reviews on the best subwoofers for 2021 and, depending on the price range and category, SVS often get a very high if not the best rankings. I would have to agree with one comprehensive review that suggested that, if this sub suits your room size and music and to a lesser degree movies are your priority then, this is simply the best subwoofer you can get for the money. If movies are your priority, I would assume the PB-1000 would also be as highly rated.
Been looking for many years for the kind of bass I get in my truck with two high-excursion 12" subs. I heard the SVS SB 1000 pro at an RC Willy along side the SB 3000 I couldn't even hear the 1000 pro and the 3000 was barely good enough so I wasn't expecting the 1000 pro to do much of anything. I decided to do the trial program and upgrade every month. But I was very surprised when I got it in my room that I could now hear the 1000 pro and it sounded great. It is actually almost enough for my taste and now only want to upgrade just to see the difference between the PB models and the SB models for myself and give myself some more buffer between the amount of heavy bass I like and the highest setting. Plus I think I'm going to need the metal grill because I am pretty ... MoreBeen looking for many years for the kind of bass I get in my truck with two high-excursion 12" subs. This is my second SVS - SB-1000 Pro Sub. I have a rather larger family room and wanted to disperse the bass to all seating locations. I absolutely love it. I purchased the wireless adapter to locate this in an area without wiring. The app makes it easy to access and manage without needing to use my AVR equipment. Bass is smooth, powerful and dynamic. I challenge anyone to find a better value than this sub!
