This is a first rate subwoofer in a relatively moderate sized box. After an Audyssey calbration and some tinkering, the sub really sings. It can reach down very low and can make your floor vibrate and your walls shake, and can it with a refined, clean sound. The phone app is a welcome feature that allows you make adjustments without having to get behind the sub to access the amplifier back control plate. To top it off, if you want to experiment with sealing one or both ports, all you have to do is call SVS and two foam plugs will be shipped to you free of charge. Even though the price has gone up by 20% or so (likely due to worldwide chip and circuit shortages), the PB-1000 Pro is still a worthwhile purchase at its current price.

My Polk PSW125 12" fell victim to its design flaws after 11 strong years, so I did really well, but it was time for an upgrade. To the internet I went to start the arduous process of combing through reviews to see what was next. It didn't take too long to come across SVS and their subs. To be honest I had never even heard of SVS up until a week ago (don't judge!) After checking the website, watching some Youtube, and looking over the specs - it was a no brainer that SVS was my top choice. I chose the PB1000Pro (ported) as I primarily use my sub for movies and I wanted the extra range and pop that the ported model added. Plus, with the ability to easily plug the ports and reconfigure the sub through the app to a sealed unit, it made this like a 2 for 1 purchase for a nominal increase in price. After connecting and running Audyssey, it 100% took a slight bump up from where my Denon 3700H + Audyssey set things at, but a slight bump up from -16db to -10db made things come alive. It's literally night and day from my old Polk 12" sub. You can feel the bass all through the room and it is so well balanced. I could only place it on the side wall in 1 location - but with the variable phase and additional tuning options in the app I feel as though the location did not hamper my ability for performance. The app is the cherry on top that makes this sub even more incredible. Easy db adjustments from the couch, presets, advanced parameter adjustments, and quick support can't be beat. The presets make it so easy to pull it all back for late night watching and enabling "wife mode", music, or full out movie chaos. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and haven't been this happy with a purchase in a long time. I would love to add a second PB100Pro to the mix, I can't even imagine how incredible it would be! Problem now is that this sub has exposed my centre channel and now the cascade of change is burning strong. Perhaps the SVS Ultimate Front Stage will be in the future?! Hopefully more vendors will open in Canada so that I can hear them in person!

You cannot go wrong with SVS , also their phone APP (I normally hate phone apps) is nice because you can adjust amp from your seat of choice. This unit is really designed for home theater in mind but still does better than most of this form factor and price point with music precision. (I bought 2 of them). Reaches low, is fast yet not distorted if your used to a cheaper sub that you can tell is on this sub might seem to disappear on you till you turn it up due to less distortion. (most subs unless turned up beyond the levels they were intended for a movie etc should be unnoticeable direction wise, if you can tell where they are they likely are distorting the signal or producing sounds in the midrange)

First want to say that this subwoofer is perfect for movies and music. The app is incredible and easy to use. I paired this up with a Denon receiver and Martin Logan 40i speakers, with a 9.1 setup with atmos. This sub is just spot on with its ability to keep up with anything, music or movies. Very natural sounding and with no buzzing or other noises that hear out of some other brands. I would definitely buy again and looking forward to going back to get another one for a 9.2 setup. SVS makes a superb product!
I spent a lot of time researching subwoofers to find the best performance for the best price. I considered many different options and almost went with a Monolith 10 but they were sold out and Iām so glad they did. At that point the new PB-1000 Pro became available and Iām so much happier with a 12ā. Sure I considered HSU and Rhythmik offerings and they are great choices but honestly the selling point was the SVS app. Performance wise all these subs would give me a true theater experience but I can now fine tune it with a few presses on my phone, convenience is a luxury. This sub reaches down low, it shakes my walls and can be felt from accross the house. I considered the 2000 Pro but Iām using this in a 13x13 theater and itās almost overkill for this space. The bass is so accurate and I can truly feel it in my chest. First movie I watched was Blade Runner 2049 as it has plenty of gut wrenching bass. Itās nothing short of impressive what this sub can do for such a good price. Not only does the sub perform so well but SVS customer service is absolutely amazing. I had tons of questions because an average joe like me, this is a decent amount of money to pay for a speaker. SVS was more than accommodating and I know if any issues arise, I will be well taken care of in the best care possible. I could understand if people were on the fence with the 10ā PB-1000 but the Pro is a no brainer. If your HT is in a smaller space this sub will be more than enough. I couldnāt even imagine a 3000 or 16 Ultra in this space. Basically Iām extremely satisfied with my purchase, with SVS as a company, and the serious yet accurate output this sub offers. Donāt think twice, just buy it!
Having owned a Yamaha yst 300 for the past 25 years i thought it was time for a change. The old subwoofer was doing ok I thought until the SVS PB1000 pro got plugged in and atomic blond uhd turned on which Iāve watched many times previously. The depth and the slam that the SVS brought to viewing out of this world and now looking forward to rewatching Dune again. Now saving to buy another to match. I havenāt mentioned the app that goes with it to fine tune not had chance yet but looks as though it covers everything. The service from Richersounds was fantastic and helpful as ever. Purchased from there Middlesbrough branch from Stuart, Iām returning customer and will be for a long time coming.
My expectations were very high as I am a previous owner of the Dual PB-1000. The 12ā driver on the pro is definitely an upgrade from the 10ā driver predecessor. I can hear low frequencies sounds that I never heard before from movies scenes that I watch thousands of times. I am impressed I missed those sounds my whole life, I just didnāt know they were there. Not even the PB-1000 could handle them. However, I am a little disappointed about the power of the pro version. The older version could easily beat the new version in volume. In my old pb-1000 dual configuration 50% volume on both was more than enough. With the pb-1000 pro, in a dual configuration, I have to set them both at max (0) to accomplished desired level. I am not sure why this is happening because the new version is supposed to have more RMS and Peak compared to the old ones.I wanted to buy the PB-2000 pro, however, they are too big for me, in fact, in dual setup, they are too big for most people. I also wish, the PB-2000 pro had the speaker level input, it really makes a difference in base detail, if you use a separate amplifier to feed them. I have done a lot of testing and I found out that bi-amping + using digital coaxial rca to feed the lfe channel simultaneously gives you the best out of a subwoofer, for both music and movies. However, svs only gives speaker level inputs on the 1000-pro model, not a good idea ā¹.
I purchased 2 of these to go in my basement theater. They compliment my bowers and Wilkins 600 anniversary edition 5.2.4 surround sound well. I have these on the iso feet which help significantly with vibrations but that is not what this review is about. These have plenty of power to fill my 16x30x7.5 room at half gain. They are tight, agile and sound big!Movies:These dig deep! They dip to frequencies below the human ears range which can make for cool effects. During movies with earthquakes the audio engineers will sometimes throw in really low frequencies that make your room shake with no perceived sound - these can handle that!!!Music:These are pretty quick and tight. They are not as tight as their sister, the sb1000 pro, but they are no slouch. I have not ...Ā MoreI purchased 2 of these to go in my basement theater. The difference is huge.SUMMARY:Nothing out there will touch the quality with the features of the pb1000 pro at this price point. I challenge anyone to find something that has the tech and sound under $600. It doesnāt exist.I do wish these came in different colors. That is the only room for improvement I see.
Superb versatility with the SVS PB 1000 Pro!My objective was to replace my 20 year old hard punching dual 12" 600W Pinnacle. The ol gal is humming and buzzing again. So I debating against ported or sealed and planned to add two subs, one on each side of my Paradigm tower speakers and in the corners of the room's walls. The common debate being ported is best for movies and sealed is best for music. When I learned that the ports can be switched closed and open with the use of the App the decision was easy. I purchased and installed two of the SVS PB 1000 Pros. I first performed and auto tune on my Pioneer Elite VSX receiver. Then I downloaded the SVS App onto my phone and started fine tuning. I purchased and installed two of the SVS PB 1000 Pros. I first performed and auto tune on my Pioneer Elite VSX receiver. Then I downloaded the SVS App onto my phone and started fine tuning. This was the fun part! The App is easy to use and absolutely amazing; allowing vast versatility in setting up the sub/s to my room size and listening preference. The app allows easy switching between the two subs and real time adjustments and most importantly it accommodates 3 presets to be saved; music, movie and custom. I dialed in my music using specific songs from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Natalie Merchant and KT Tunstall. I had so much fun shaking the walls of this old home to find my favorite settings. Then saved em to the "Music" presets on both subs. Switching between port open and closed with my selected music playing and neighbor bothering levels was paramount. Ports closed/sealed mode was so smooth with a knock out punches. I also found for my room environment with ports closed was that I preferred the polarity to be set negative. The low pass filter and volume adjustments allow easy fine tune matching to the main speakers, receiver volume, room environment and personal preference. Regarding movies, I opened the ports, bumped the volume up and saved to the movie preset. I am very happy with my decision. My neighbors, probably not. Lastly, the guy at BB was great and demo switched between ported and sealed SVS subs however he did not demo the App or appear to know that the ported sub ports could be closed using the App. It was in someone else's review that I learned of this feature and for me it's a game changer. Cheers and happy listening.
I have the 1st PB 1000 which has a single 10 inch cone and was aiming for a second, then months later SVS had finally upgraded the PB 1000 pro with 2 (12 inch dual) cones that others slightly a little bit more wattage power and lowering the HZ from 19 to 17 in quality which is now the best sub I've owned so far and an app to easily set up from my phone (champion)my living room is 13 by 13 feet and the PB1000 pro absolutely rocks it in there. it's just about right you can hear and feel the low notes really well which makes the original PB1000 Useless to my liking anymore because there's also a blue bright light at the front of it which was annoying. I am glad SVS has removed it and placed blue lights at the back of the new sub so that it cant be seen (good work fellows) I am running dual with the original PB 1000 and the balance of setting up them up is tricky because the original doesn't have the app. this is the reason why I want to get a second one to gain that even response with volume and low frequency effect as well.the only downfall about this sub is that it's volume is not as loud as the original. but I still guarantee this sub as an excellent performer for films and music. I don't feel the need to upgrade for PB 2000 Pro (I need a really bigger living room for this) In future if SVS manages to come up with another upgrade for PB 1000 Pro with 3 cones/ wattage and lower Hz added added to the mix. then i'll be waiting for it.
